Chapter 1: Where am I?
The clang of swords echoed in the valley as Renjiro's vision blurred. His body felt heavy, and the warmth of his blood seeped through his armor. He knew this was the end. The god he'd fought had been too strong. As the world darkened around him, his last thoughts were not of the battle but his inability to protect the people he loved, as all he could do was watch as the gods manage to kill his wife and family members infront of him, all while being unable to stop them. A pang of regret tightened in his chest. If only I had more power….
The darkness swallowed him completely. For a moment, there was nothing, no light, no sound, just the all encompassing void surrounding him. All of a sudden, a bright flash of light appeared seemingly out of nowhere, before Renjiro could even understand what was happening to him. He found himself in a room filled with people, all of which are busy writing something on their tables.
[Shouldn't I have died on that battlefield? Who are all these people and what are they doing, however most importantly just where in the world am I at currently, this does not seem like the world I am familiar with!] Renjiro thought to himself as he looked at his surroundings and thought to himself. However, upon looking out of the window, Renjiro became even more shocked as instead of the environment he was familiar with, in their place were colossal buildings that made even the mightiest castles known to him seem like a toy.
All along the street, people walked about in clothes he has never seen before and fiddled with a small box that seemed to glow in their hands, all of which was foreign to someone like Renjiro who lived in the time period of 700 BC and seemed almost mystical.
However, out of nowhere, a sudden blinding light flashed in front of him, causing his vision to blur accompanied with a strange ringing that echoed in his ears. Renjiro, who perceived this as an attack immediately stood up and stumbled backwards, his body tensing up as if he was getting ready to battle a fearsome foe.
However, before Renjiro could continue, an annoyed female voice rang out that broke him out of his state of mind "Renjiro Akiyama! What are you doing standing up in the middle of the test! Hurry up and sit down!" Upon hearing this, everyone in the room proceeded to stop what they were doing and turned their heads to look at Renjiro, wondering what was going on with him.
Renjiro, upon realising that everyone seemed to be displeased at his actions, proceeded to take a sit, which seemed to solve the problem as everyone proceeded to continue with what they were doing, as if Renjiro's actions were merely a minor distraction in their eyes.
After resolving the issue, Renjiro focused his eyes on the glowing screen that was floating infront of him. To confirm whether he was simply hallucinating or if the glowing screen is real, Renjiro put his hands forward, attempting to make contact with the glowing screen that was in front of him, only to witness his hands passing through the screen, touching nothing but air, almost as if the glowing screen did not exist in realiaty and that he was simply just hallucinating, however no matter how much Renjiro open and close his eyes, the glowing screen remained there, almost as if it was tempting him to interact with him in some way.
Out of curiousity, Renjiro tried to interact with the screen in many different ways, whether it was by touch or various hand gestures, and only after many attempts did he figure out a few things about the glowing screen, such as that he merely needed to mentally command the screen for it to work along with the fact that the screen was invisible to everyone but himself as no one around him mentioned anything about a floating glowing screen.
Upon interacting with screen in his mind, the following words appeared.
