"What if I missed their wedding?" Ray yelled.

"Jack was worried his mother will try to hurt especially Alfred and me so he decided to get married earlier than planned," Camilla said

"But I wanted to prepare his bachelor party and shop our suits together but you took that from me " he frowned.

"We didn't take anything, you were just not here & could not be contacted so we did it with you & Jack said he would make it up to you " Chris scowled.

It was time for Rachel and Ray to leave too after having dinner. Chris took his father up to his room while Camilla followed the couple to the door.

"That's for coming guys it was fun having you here " she hugged Rachel and Ray.

After they drove off she walked back into the house.

"Let go to bed " Chris came out of the study. They walked up to their room and she lay down. Having been busy entertaining Ray the whole afternoon had tired her out

He moved to the bathroom and soaked a towel with warm water, "You should have chased him away. Ray tends to exhaust you every time you two meet " Chris placed them on her swollen feet.

She calmly sighed closing her eyes, "I wanted to but not seeing him for months made me miss him " she muttered.

Chris smiled watching her relax, "feel better?" he asked.

She nodded, "but am hungry " he chuckled and got up,

"what do you desire my love?" he asked.

"chicken soup " he laughed and walked out of the room. Camilla laid back down and waited for Chris to return but before she could relax again her phone rang.

"Hello," she answered.

"I guess you are now comfortable in my house?" a voice asked.

Camilla opened her eyes and glared at her phone, "this woman knows how to piss me off " she muttered.

"Oh, Mom! how have you been? I was getting worried that you had died somewhere & denied us the opportunity to bury you " said Camilla.

There was silence from the other end, Camilla snorted and continued, "but since you alive am content we still have the chance to lay you to rest "

"It seems you have grown overconfident without being there to remind you of your place," the woman said back.

"Oh please, mother. I always knew my place, it's just that it was you who was being stubborn "

"Don't you think just because I went away that I gave up? I never will as long as you are still alive or next to my family, am coming for you, and trust me this time I will not fail "

Camilla laid back and sighed, "Honestly mom I have grown tired of this stupid fight between us that I didn't even know was there. But if you want to still play dumb with me, then bring it on " hanging up she threw her phone to the bed.

"That woman knows how to foil my mood, still playing villain at her age doesn't she consider how her sons or father-in-law will feel " she wanted to say mother but the door opening cut her off.

Chris noticed her frown and placed the food aside, "something wrong?" he asked touching her belly.

She shook her head and smiled, "am okay just hungry . You took too long " she grumbled.

Chris apologized and placed the chicken soup in front of her. After watching her finish the meal, he took away the dishes.
