Chapter 11 CHAPTER
“Get her away from here Officer Jeon!” Mia who shot the man on the hand causing him to release the gun and without any further ado, Officer Jeon grabbed my hand and wasted no time before we charged off.
A few more shots continued firing in the air and whipping his head around, he fired a few skillfull shots towards the back before he pulled me into a secluded alley.
“You’re bleeding!” He pulled out a handkerchief from his pocket and damp it on my neck. He removed his hand like he was electrified when I placed mine holding onto the cloth.
“Stay quiet!” He gently push me on the side to shield me from sight while his other hand hold his revolver tightly ready to shoot. He looked so damn serious while he peek through the side of the wall.
He is so damn handsome and smells so good. I felt my cheeks burned hot remembering the moment we’ve shared that night. However, that only lasted for a short while before I started hiccupping.
“Stop that! You’ll get us in trouble!” he covered my mouth with his hand but my hiccupping didn’t stop.
“I’m sorry but hic! I don’t know how to stop this, hic! You know I feel very nervous right now, hic!” He glared at me but sadly, my hiccupping just wouldn’t stop and the more he stared at me, the deeper of red my cheeks turned.
“Can you just hold your breath!” and that’s when we heard footsteps coming towards us. My hands trembled with fear as I saw a shadow just at the entrance of the alley.
And I did the only thing I knew that will make me hold my breath. I grabbed Officer Jeon’s collar pulling him closer to me and crash my lips against him while his eyes widened in blatant shock.
Within seconds, when the footstep stops, I pulled away and that’s when my hiccup stops right away. “I’m sorry, that’s the only solution I know to stop my hiccups.”
He gave me such a serious look that I couldn’t say anything more in response except to smile. I turned my body away from him as if nothing happened but I was shocked when he pulled me towards him and he pressed his lips with mine again.
His lips are soft just like his kiss. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him closer to me savouring the minty taste of his mouth.
The familiar taste of him ignites me and I am slightly embarrassed when a soft moan escapes my throat. My finger tangled themselves into his hair and I tug on the soft strands when his grip on my waist tighten.
We were both out of breath and my skin is hot and flushed when he pulled away but his arms still wrapped around me.
Another footsteps were heard and we stay silent doing a staring contest. “Officer Jeon!”
“Mia, what happened?” He suddenly released me and stepped out of the alley to meet Mia.
“They were taken by some police officers. Probably be imprisoned again.” Mia answers as she eyed me up and down.
“Are you okay now, Aera?” Mia asked me while we were seated at Officer Jeon’s living room. He just stared at me handling the first aid kit to Mia.
She started to damp a cotton with alcohol on my wound. “You were so brave fighting with the three men. But next time you have to be very careful. What if we’re not there? Who will save you from them?"
“It wasn’t my plan to fight with them but they started touching me everywhere, I know I have to do something to stop them.” I winced as I felt the alcohol penetrates inside my skin.
“Why the hell didn’t you tell me about it?” I jolted when Officer Jeon shouted at me. I saw how his jaw tightened and clenched his fists when he heard what I’ve just said. He then walked inside his room and slammed the door closed.
“What’s his problem?” I asked Mia but she just shrugged her shoulders
“Don’t mind him Aera. Are you sure you’re okay now?”
“Yeah, thank you so much Mia. So, are you also a cop?”
She stopped putting back the medicines inside the kit and faced me. “I’m sorry Aera but I can’t tell you.”
“Oh okay. I’m sorry if I was being too nosy. I think I better get going so you can rest too. Goodnight Mia.” I kissed her cheek goodbye before I headed out and into my apartment.
I toss and turn on my bed while I think about what had just happened. I just stared at the ceiling until my alarm goes off at 6. I forced myself out of bed and took a bath. I changed the bandage on my neck and put on a turtle neck tops to hide it.
“Good morning Dr. Aera.” Dr. Jun greeted me at the corridor.
“Hi Dr. Jun. Nice to see you here in the morning.”
“Yes! We have interns and I have to prepare for my speech. They’re already waiting at the conference room, let's go?" He opened the conference room for me and just before Dr. Yoon Jeonghan, the chief of surgery starts to speak.
I take my seat quickly beside Dr. Boo. After Dr. Yoon finished his speech, the heads of each department of surgery and nursing drone about their specialties.
After a dreadfully long waiting, Dr. Yoon calls me up to the platform. I walked towards and turn to face the crowd, ready for my speech. “Hello everyone, my name is Dr. Choi Aera from Orthopedics Department. Welcome….
My eyes searched at the new faces and explaining about Orthopedics as best as I can. After finishing my speech, I get off the stage and get back to my seat.
“Dr. Choi, I want you to focus on your patient, the gangster’s boss. If something happened to him, it would be a big loss for the hospital.” Dr. Yoon suddenly takes a seat beside me and warned me about the boss.
“What do you mean Dr. Yoon?” I asked wondering on what he just said.
Dr. Yoon came closer and whispers to my ear. “He’s one of the biggest sponsor in this hospital. Not only here but with our branches nationwide.”
I nodded and after the conference was done, I exited the room and ride a lift to the fifth floor to check my very important patient, G-Dragon.
When I reached his room, his bodyguards were nowhere to be seen. G-dragon never last a day without a men guarding his room. They guarded him 24/7 and never left him without anyone. I think there’s something fishy going on here.
I grab on the knob and twist it to open only to get shock with the sight inside his room. He is tied up on the bed and gagged. He’s looking at me with muffles yelling.
