Cadence Under Contract
Cadence Granbury is the highly skilled and experienced personal assistant to CEO James Oliver. Their relationship has been nothing but professional since Cadence started working for him two years ago. That is, until James receives an ultimatum from his ailing grandfather: get married or get very little! Unwilling to lose out on the bulk of his inheritance, James does everything in his power to expedite the process of finding a wife. Chapter 105 - Unsettling Nostalgia
The remainder of the evening was fairly uneventful. Cadence was pleased to see Charles looking noticeably stronger and healthier than the day before. Belinda only stayed long enough to say her goodbyes before sweeping out. Cadence and Charles played backgammon together while James fussed about the room. They brought dinner up for themselves from the cafeteria and laughed when Charles grumbled about his own tasteless hospital food. It was a bland visit and they were all grateful for it. They could all use a bit less excitement in their lives after the last few dramatic weeks.
