Chapter 7

“I’ll think about it and let you know later, is that all right? I have to go home and check on Mischief. If he’s okay tomorrow, then I’d be happy to come; otherwise I’ll be taking him to the vet. I haven’t had the time to make many friends here yet. It would be nice to be here with you guys and not be working.” Jamie finished his tea and wrapped half of his muffin in the napkin. “I’m going to save this for later. Now I have to get back to work.”

Brian watched as Jamie walked away. He elbowed Jim in the ribs. “You’re setting Bull up, aren’t you?”

“Yeah, I am. I know that kid can take pain. I’m going to make sure that Masato isn’t available tomorrow for the demonstration and Bull will have no choice but to pick Jamie.” Jim smiled evilly. “Twinks, indeed.”

“You know, we should be discouraging him. Bull is not the easiest of men and Jamie is a nice guy.” Brian took the dishes and put them in the bus pan.
