Building A New World

Every monster species has a powerful essence they draw from for strength. It comes from a primordial force dormant in their bodies that allowed their ancestors to rival the demon clans throughout the dark ages. Long ago they were completely controlled by these primordial instincts. They would fight among the other species over land or human mates. As time went on the demon clans began to feel threatened by the increased number of monster species appearing around the world. Worried they would one day be overwhelmed the demons took action. The demons began to oppress humanity and culled their numbers as much as possible. When the other species saw this they began forming factions to engage the demons. The result was a constant war waged among the lands. Humans scattered across the world trying to find places to avoid their extinction. Some humans found sanctuary in the elven cities hidden within the forest. Seeing them on the verge of extinction elves taught humans magic to protect themselves, but it wasn't enough. These battles plaguing the earth caused the angels to descend to protect humanity. As the demons, and angels clashed it almost broke the world. This led to a ceasefire, and a treaty was established. The world was rebuilt into a new landmass for the survivors that remained. This event came to be known as the first dark age and occurred over a thousand years ago. Since then three more dark ages have plagued the land. Due to this history, many humans consider these monster species to be evil, and it's why so many conflicts exist today. This story follows a young Nephilim named a century after the fourth dark age. After a tragic loss, Zack has had problems of opening up to others. Because of this, he's traveled alone for the past two years, but one day he meets a demon that changes everything. --- https://discord.gg/8zjAdmNtHB Has polls that involve the story, character list, the R-rated scenes marked, and a full-size pic of the cover.

Chapter 323

The otherworlders were plugging in their batteries or powering up their phones. It was a concerning moment, but Zack guaranteed there were no issues. Watching the screen power up Brian eagerly viewed the images, and everything was intact. He wanted to take pictures immediately but wanted to ensure it wasn't an issue.

"We should join them next time," Brian told Taylor.

"Tired of our vacation?" Taylor teased.

"Not at all," Brian replied.

"Mind if we join?"John asked.

"I would feel better if you did," Brian replied.

"We can always move as a convoy," Zack suggested.

"Not sure if I can run a wagon boss," Miguel told Taylor.

"I know how." Bethany offered.

Walking up with Bethany were the children, and other teachers. Witnessing the children so excited they wanted to attend the event. Having worked as a teacher's aid Bethany became close with the children and wanted to offer her services in teaching them.

"Mind if we watch the training?" Layla asked.

"There's plenty of horses if you decide to do more than that," Zack replied while greeting Helena

"Can we go now?" Helena requested.

"Are you coming?" Zack glanced at Cassandra and Madison.

"I prefer watching, but I'll join," Madison replied.

"You can be honest with him, and it's a good time to learn." Cassandra relayed.

"M-maybe," Madison replied.

"They are ready for you master," Aida told Zack.

"Then let's get going." Zack grabbed Yu's hand.

"Will they let me ride?" Yu asked.

"If you can stay calm when you approach them I'm sure they'll love you," Zack replied.

Walking to the stables with Zack's group was Isabel. She just wanted some company on her way to the waystation. Isabel intended to return to the badlands and inform the others of the changes in the hopes of gaining more residents.

As she approached the array Isabel passed Denam on his way back from the jungle. His hasty exit was interrupted due to the swaying hips before him. Having spent most of his free time in the jungle he missed the new species arrival.

'She's so beautiful.'

Isabel felt the sensual gaze, and when seeing it who was she blushed. It's been ten years since she's been with a man. The first person to show interest since her late husband was a human, and a young one at that. Recalling the lustful nature that came with that age, and feeling the wandering eyes her tail began to rattle. She was rubbing her arm and blushing until she ported through the gateway.

'Who was that?' Denam turned his attention back to the exit.

While making his way home he saw a large crowd gathering at the stables. Curious to see what was going on Denam went searching for Mary. Upon his return, Denam learned he wasn't the only member of their group to take an interest. Antonio and Marc were making their way over with a few others behind them.

"You should say something," Marc told Antonio.

"She seems busy right now." Antonio glanced at Shiva.

When the others moving to Eden Shiva began to feel lonely and decided to visit. She just finished the tour when the others began congregating. Horses weren't a common sight for her, and she wanted a closer look.

"Excuses like that will get you nowhere," Zess replied.

"Speaking of partners where's yours?" John asked.

"It's a little odd to see you without her," Marc stated.

"She's escorting Kurumi for a few days, but then she'll be back," Zess replied.

Hearing them talk about their companions one of their friends began to feel envious. The trip here was a stressful one, and after arriving Kayden's only concern was relaxing. By the time he got used to the world everyone around him was already advancing so quickly.

Kayden wasn't falling back in terms of strength but on a more personal level. Like the others, he was fascinated with using magic, but that deep fascination led to him missing out on social events. Taking a break from his cultivation he wanted to catch up with the others.

"You're all lucky bastards," Kayden declared.

"Maybe you should break more often," Zess replied.

"Being committed to training isn't a bad thing, but your body needs a break now and then," John stated.

Approaching the stable one could see centaurs and several instructors standing at the ready. They observed the horses galloping freely across the plains, and running next to them was Corra. As she turned towards the stables they followed behind. A few of the young horses trailed off as they neared the humans, but the others stayed in formation.

They stopped in front of Zack's group as the children waited patiently beside him. Because of Zack's involvement, several tribes appeared outside the pens to watch. Andrea's group landed on the stables to get a better view. Not long after the others arrived Nicole walked out of the stables.

"I had to rummage through the storage, but this should be enough." Nicole retrieved saddles and tossed Zack a ring with more.

"Thanks for the help," Zack smiled at Nicole.

"I still don't see why you here," Andrea told Amy while dropping from the roof.

"I want to spend time with everyone." Amy smiled.

Amidst the equipment being retrieved the children began walking among the horses. They were tasked with finding one that took up to them. For some of the children, this was easier than the others. It took a few minutes, but everyone found their horse. Once the equipment was set everyone was paired off with instructors. The older participants were still browsing the stables as Kayden watched Andrea.

'I was wondering when I would see her again. There's no way she remembers me.'

The first time they met was at the tavern two weeks ago. Kayden was enjoying a feast before returning to training and encountered the harpies on their courting ritual. Most of the harpies were off flirting with suitable candidates, but Andrea was simply lingering about drinking with Sun.

During the festivities, they crossed paths, and a staggering drunk spilled liquor onto Andrea's feathers. Kayden helped her up and assisted in drying them off. To reward his efforts Andrea embraced him and gave a flirtatious advance, but given her inebriated stated he declined. Kayden stayed at her side, and escort her home that night. Recalling the sensation of Andrea's wings embracing him was the push he needed.

'There's no harm in approaching.'
