Building A New World

Every monster species has a powerful essence they draw from for strength. It comes from a primordial force dormant in their bodies that allowed their ancestors to rival the demon clans throughout the dark ages. Long ago they were completely controlled by these primordial instincts. They would fight among the other species over land or human mates. As time went on the demon clans began to feel threatened by the increased number of monster species appearing around the world. Worried they would one day be overwhelmed the demons took action. The demons began to oppress humanity and culled their numbers as much as possible. When the other species saw this they began forming factions to engage the demons. The result was a constant war waged among the lands. Humans scattered across the world trying to find places to avoid their extinction. Some humans found sanctuary in the elven cities hidden within the forest. Seeing them on the verge of extinction elves taught humans magic to protect themselves, but it wasn't enough. These battles plaguing the earth caused the angels to descend to protect humanity. As the demons, and angels clashed it almost broke the world. This led to a ceasefire, and a treaty was established. The world was rebuilt into a new landmass for the survivors that remained. This event came to be known as the first dark age and occurred over a thousand years ago. Since then three more dark ages have plagued the land. Due to this history, many humans consider these monster species to be evil, and it's why so many conflicts exist today. This story follows a young Nephilim named a century after the fourth dark age. After a tragic loss, Zack has had problems of opening up to others. Because of this, he's traveled alone for the past two years, but one day he meets a demon that changes everything. --- https://discord.gg/8zjAdmNtHB Has polls that involve the story, character list, the R-rated scenes marked, and a full-size pic of the cover.

Chapter 258

Dyna was overcome with joy over the response from her father, and the two embraced tightly as Helena smiled up at them. Zack called forward some dolls and had them move Dyna's things into the estate. With her residency no longer in question, it was time to make the move.

Not long after the dolls left to complete their task Destiny returned with the others in tow. After the bath, they spent time getting acquainted with otherworlders and accompanied Destiny to their house to examine their clothes.

Eager to tell her momma about the day Helena ran up to the women. Knowing the feast would be started soon the group migrated towards the hall. With guests still lingering from the festivities, it was held in the new hall. The tales of today's events began spreading, and many were eager to return to their kingdoms to impress others with the stories of the arena.

After the feast, the remaining rulers turned in to get an early start on the road tomorrow. Their visit to Eden showed them there are ways to coexist, and that they had more in common with the other species than they thought. The majority of them were just happy to enjoy the festivities, but a few of them were dedicated to making changes at home.

While Zack was telling his companions goodnight Amy appeared. She learned from the others what a date is, and since the discovery, she's been eager to spend more time with Zack.

"What do you two have planned tonight?" Lilith asked.

"That's up to her." Zack smiled at Amy.

"You know when he's like this you can ask for whatever you want," Madison told Amy.

"Really?" Amy asked.

"That look means you having something in mind already. I wonder what though."Lilith teased.

Zack gave Lilith a serious look before glancing at the nearby children. The playful look was swept away as Lilith smiled at the children. Amy had her wings together and was fidgeting with her head lowered.

"I know this is against the rules, but I really wanted to play games tonight," Amy said as she glanced at the kids being gathered for bed.

"Why would you think that's against the rules?" Zack asked.

"Because no one ever plays games at night, and all my friends go to bed," Amy replied.

Zack gestured at Tanya to gather the children.

"That's not because it's a rule, but only cause they get sleepy," Zack told Amy.

"It's a habit from the kids keeping the same routine for so long," Yuki stated.

"So we can play then?" Amy asked.

"That's up to them, but I'm sure we can find a few participants." Zack smiled at Helena.

Lilith would typically find a way to tempt someone into being more intimate with Zack, but Amy defeated her. How could she do something like that when Amy's request was so innocent?

As the children began to gather Yu had a down look on her face. The game was a part of Amy's request for their date, and they all had an understanding of these matters. Helena walked up to Yu trying to find out what was wrong.

"If you wanna play with us then come on." Helena smiled.

"But it's Amy's turn," Yu replied.

"I like it when we all play together," Amy told Zack's companions.

Yu rapidly hugged Amy before running to the center of the children.

"You know that's training right." Kaya chuckled.

"Sometimes the two are connected," Madison winked at Zack recalling their morning.

'What was that about?' Cassandra glanced at the embarrassed expression on Zack's face.

"Are you gonna play too?" Helena asked Octavia.

The last few times they played games Octavia stayed off to the side just watching silently. Her behavior with the children has improved over the last two months, but playing was still something difficult to do. Being excluded from them as a child Octavia was embarrassed to admit that she desperately wanted to play. With Helena asking it was the perfect excuse to participate.

"I g-guess I can play a few games," Octavia crossed her arms.

"You better join us too," Ashleigh told Cynthia.

"I have to keep an eye on things," Cynthia replied while glancing at Ericka.

"I'll join if you do," Ericka smirked at Cynthia.

"Just don't go overboard this time." Karin cautioned Ericka.

Knowing the ideal night for Amy was them all spending together moved Zack. He knew she had a playful nature, but he could sense it was more than that. She truly enjoyed their company, but playing was the only way she knew how to express it. Zack wrapped his arms around her waist while smiling at those around him.

"I'll gather some snacks, and inform the others to take a break," Olivia told Zack.

Haruna was preparing to retire to her home to finish up the roster when Helena tugged on her arm.

"Do you not like games?" Helena asked.

"She just likes to focus on work like momma," Zack told Helena.

"One game couldn't hurt," Haruna replied while stashing her scroll.

'I never knew Helena would be this much of a game-changer.' Lilith smiled at Haruna.

"What should we play tonight?" Zack asked Amy.

The kids started convincing Amy what to pick, and the series of games began. That night in Eden the usual nightly events included Zack's estate playing through the grounds. The spectacle attracted others into the games, and by the end of the night, all of Zack's partners were involved. Their arrangement was unconventional, but to anyone walking by there was no denying it was a family.

Once the games concluded, and the children were exhausted the other woman offered to handle the kids for Zack to continue the remainder of their date alone. Zack was racing through the air with Amy at his side. Their races would often serve as a game in their travels to another task on the days' agenda, but tonight they were simply enjoying themselves.

"Is it okay to play like that again?" Amy asked while soaring above Zack.

"I wouldn't be surprised if they made it into a new routine," Zack replied while turning to face her.

Amy flew into Zack's chest as he halted in the air embracing her tightly. The two slowly descended towards the canopy and took refuge on a large branch. They were on the other side of the mountain and contemplating returning home. Zack however wanted to enjoy their time alone a little longer.
