Felix was taken aback when he saw the mission the system had assigned him. He had to open a restaurant in Brigdemoor City in just seven days.

The consequences of failing were pretty harsh - he wouldn't be able to start another business for a whole year.

But hey, at least it was within th acceptable range.

The rewards were pretty good he would earn 10,000 BEP and a mysterious package for successfully completing the mission.

"Hey, System, what's in the mysterious package?" Felix asked with curiosity.

[ Ding: No comment ] The system responded.

"Big bro,big bro....".

Felix felt a gentle nudge and quickly withdrew his attention from the system panel to look at Nixie in confusion.

"What's wrong? ".

" Why did you suddenly space out? I've been calling you but you weren't responding. What's on your mind?" Nixie asked, still rubbing her forehead.

Felix scratched his head and replied, "Nothing. Nixie, you said you know where we can find a chef,right?"

Nixie nodded and said, "Yeah, I do."

"Great, then take me there after we finish breakfast," Felix said with a smile.

Nixie was surprised, "Big brother, we haven't even opened a restaurant yet and you're already looking for a chef?"

Felix explained, "Since we plan to open a restaurant, we need to start preparing in advance. What if we open the restaurant and can't find a chef? We need to ensure that everything goes smoothly."

Understanding Felix's reasoning, Nixie, Trinity, and the others agreed with his approach.

" Ok let's go and finished our breakfast". Felix said as he led everyone out of the room.

Twenty minutes later all of them have finished their breakfast,the children were playing in the yard while Felix, Zephyr, Brixton, Gwendolyn, Nixie, and Trinity stood at the entrance of the house.

Felix announced, "Nixie and I will go see if we can hire the chef."

The others nodded in agreement.

Felix then instructed Trinity and Gwendolyn, "Take some money and buy decent clothes for everyone. We need to appear presentable since we're opening a restaurant."

" Zephyr, Brixton, the two of you should stay here and look after the kids. Do you understand?"

"Yes, big brother," they replied.

Felix nodded with a smile, " Alright, Nixie and I will be going now ".

After saying that he signaled Nixie to follow him as both of them left the house.

" Both of you should be careful on the road " Trinity gentle voice floated from behind.

Felix smile and simple waved his hand to show he got it.

A few minutes later, Felix and Nixie found themselves leaving the slums behind as they strolled along a wide road that stretched into the distance.

The sun had risen, casting a soft glow over the streets of Brigdemoor City and ushering in a flurry of early-morning activity. This was Felix's first glimpse of Brigdemoor City since arriving in this world.

While he had some knowledge and images of the city from his predecessor's memories, his initial arrival had been in the dead of night and he had been injured, limiting his exposure to the city to the slums.

Now, as he took in the sights of Brigdemoor City for the first time from his own perspective, Felix's expression was one of curiosity.

The streets were exceptionally wide, bustling with pedestrians moving to and fro, carriages pulled by massive horses thundering down the thoroughfares, and shops of all sizes lining both sides of the street with vendors calling out to potential customers.

The scene was vibrant and lively, a stark contrast to the desolate slums Felix had previously known.

"Nixie, how did you come to know this chef?" Felix asked curiously, looking at Nixie.

Nixie scratched her head, "Well, I once worked in his house as a maid for one month."

"Oh, I see," Felix nodded, "So what's his name?"

"His name is Gideon, Gideon Ashford, but I prefer to call him Chef Gideon," Nixie replied.

"And how is his personality?" Felix inquired once again.

"Well, Chef Gideon is quite approachable and amiable, but sometimes he loses control of his emotions," Nixie said. "And oh, big bro Chef Gideon is a 1 Star Spirit Chef."

"Oh, a Spirit Chef... wait, what!" Felix suddenly stopped and stood rooted on the spot with wide eyes as he looked at Nixie.

Nixie was smiling and giggling, seeing Felix's stunned face. A few seconds later, Felix came back to his senses. "You mean that Chef Gideon is a 1 Star Spirit Chef?"

"Hmm," Nixie nodded.

Felix took a deep breath, "Darn, how can a 1 Star Spirit Chef live in this remote city?"

In the Sylphendil World, apart from Knight Cultivation and Mage Cultivation, there are other Secondary Occupations such as Formation Masters, Blacksmiths, Alchemists, Rune Masters, and Spirit Chefs. These Secondary Occupations are divided into Stars from 1 Star to 9 Stars. They all play a crucial role in assisting Knights and Mages.

For example, weapons forged by a Blacksmith can amplify the attacks of Knights or Mages by several folds, or increase their defenses.

A pill or potion refined by an Alchemist can heal grave injuries, allowing a Knight or Mage to break through their bottleneck, and much more.

As for a Spirit Chef, it is also a highly respected Secondary Occupation.

The role of a Spirit Chef is a highly esteemed secondary occupation. The dishes prepared by Spirit Chefs are renowned for their exquisite taste and divine quality. Infused with rich Mana, these dishes not only satisfy the palate but also aid in the cultivation process.

The ingredients utilized by Spirit Chefs are far from ordinary, often sourced from rare and exotic sources.

Spirit Chefs take great pride in their craft, and their occupation is highly sought after by many.

"Nixie, if Chef Gideon is a 1 Star Spirit Chef, then why is he here in this remote city?" Felix asked, narrowing his eyes.

Nixie fell silent for a moment, then looked up and sighed, "Well, big bro, Chef Gideon's life is extremely pitiful."

Felix's eyes gleamed with interest. "Well, you can tell me all about it as we walk," he said as they continued down the bustling street.

Twenty years ago, as a teenager, he became a 1 Star Spirit Chef while living in the capital City. Despite numerous offers from restaurants, nobles, and even the Royal Family he refused and chose to open his own restaurant.

His dishes were so exquisite and delicious that people traveled from far and wide to taste them.

What set Chef Gideon apart was that he became a 1 Star Spirit Chef at the young age of nineteen, making him the youngest Spirit Chef in a thousand years in the Kingdom of Avalonia.

His unique cooking style and divine dishes made his restaurant a must-visit destination in the capital city. People were drawn to his indigenous dishes and the variety of flavors he offered.

Knights and Mages, esteemed individuals in the Kingdom, frequented Chef Gideon's restaurant to savor his exquisite dishes. Initially, everything seemed to be going smoothly for him - he achieved success as a Spirit Chef and even found love, leading to a blissful life.

However, as the saying goes, with success comes envy and those who seek to bring about your downfall. Chef Gideon fell victim to a conspiracy orchestrated by his jealous enemies and competitors.

Due to his accomplishments, Chef Gideon attracted the jealousy of a rival 1 Star Spirit Chef who challenged him to a bet to determine whose dishes were superior. Initially hesitant, Chef Gideon was goaded by his adversary and encouraged by his girlfriend to accept the challenge.

Against his better judgment, he agreed to the bet, with many assuming he would emerge victorious. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned, and Chef Gideon suffered a devastating loss.

Unbeknownst to him, the entire ordeal was a carefully orchestrated scheme. Upon discovering the truth, Chef Gideon was left feeling both enraged and heartbroken, especially upon realizing that his beloved was complicit in the conspiracy.

His once-thriving career and reputation crumbled, and the consequences of losing the bet were severe. He was stripped of his Spirit Chef title and cursed, preventing him from advancing in his Cultivation.

As a result, he was condemned to remain a Tier 1 Knight indefinitely, unable to progress in either his Knight Cultivation or Spirit Chef Realm.

Despite the curse placed upon him, Chef Gideon retained his culinary skills. However, due to the tainted reputation resulting from the bet, no one dared to eat his food.

Feeling despair and heartbreak, he fled from the Capital and sought refuge in Brigdemoor City, where he has resided ever since.
