Chosen One(s)?

Jayden Brody felt like he was floating on clouds as memories of his life flashed before him. At first, it was very comfortable almost like being cradled in the arms of his mother. As the memories began to pass through his mind; he would see videos of his life. Unfortunately, the videos that were playing were episodes from the saddest times of his life.

"Jayden, happy Birthday Big Boy!" Jayden's father turned to say as he was driving their care on their way to Grandma's house. Everything went crazy when the car was suddenly tumbling over and over again until it came right side up. Jayden's parents were both bleeding heavily. He felt like they were slowly slipping away from him. It was like, after this moment he knew he would never see his parents again.

"Daddy! I love you, please don't leave me! Mommy, stay!" Jayden yelled as he sat behind their dying bodies. A four-year-old Jayden was covered in cuts and bruises as he struggled in his car seat to crawl over the back seat to be next to his dying parents.

"We love you, Little Jay!" His mother said to her as she closed her eyes for the last time.

"You're just an orphan, no one loves you. You can't even get adopted!" A large boy, Brad, from his fourth-grade class, said to Jayden.

"Why am I alone!" A crying Jayden kept saying into his arm.

"Did you see the latest issue of Mysterious X?" Don, Jayden's only friend, said to him as he sat down next to him.

"Yeah, I wish I could be the hero. If I was the hero maybe I could have saved my Mom and Dad!"

Just as Jayden's memories were running through his mind, he heard and saw other memories. One set was of a girl who looked Asian, maybe Chinese. Another was of a boy with flaming red hair.

"Your parents are dead, Wei Anli, now my husband is the lord and I am the Mistress of the house. You will do your work or I will sell you off as a slave!" An extremely skinny woman with too much make up said to a four-year-old girl. The girl just lost her parents and finished the morning process. Now here aunt let all pretense go.

"Please Auntie, don't be mean! Wei Anli will be good I love you! Don't you love me?" Wei Anli asked as tears streaked her delicate little cheeks. The poor girl just lost her parents and her aunt who she had always loved transformed into a vicious monster before her eyes.

"What good does the love of a little orphan do me? You're just one more mouth to feed. Master An from the Spirit School tells me you don't even have any ability in martial arts. I've tolerated your whining long enough!" The aunt slapped Wei Anli. She fell to the ground but was too scared to cry. She couldn't understand what was going on.

In a different memory, a red-headed boy was in a special practice hall. There was a circular marble platform in the middle of the room. A red symbol was on the ground and located in four different spots were four elements, fire, earth, water, and wind.

"What a useless thing, you can't even cast a basic fire spell. What use is your flaming red hair?" I thought you would be at least half as capable as your father. I served loyally him for many years and he rewarded me with the responsibility of raising his talentless son. What a slap in the face," a middle-aged balding man said.

"Your poor father was our Grand Magus, out of the abiding loyalty I have tried to fulfill the thankless burden he placed upon me. I would have thrown you out already you useless piece of trash if I weren't such a loyal follower!" he said.

"You never talked like this when he was alive! You're just a hypocrite. You were just waiting for my father to die; you hated him for being better than you. Don't pretend like you're doing me a favor! He found you as a child and saved you from life as gutter trash!"

"Ofan Blaise! You go too far. I will not kill you on account of your father, but I will banish you to the island of Shrieking Devils!"

All of these memories swirled around Jayden Brody, it was almost too much. He wanted to cry and tell the people to shut up. How could they say such horrible things!?"

The more he shouted the more his head hurt, he was screaming as loud as he could trying to get the memories to be quiet. Were these even his memories, what's going on!"

Jayden opened his eyes as sweat slipped down his forehead and fell onto the grass. He was panting heavily and tears were streaming down his cheeks. It was like every terrible thought, feeling, and memory he ever experienced in his life was concentrated into one moment and then shot into his brain. It was even worse than that because it was like he felt the pain of two others as well!

It was at that moment he realized he wasn't the only one panting and crying. He lifted his head and was shocked to see the two from the memory download.

One was a young Asian girl wearing an old-style dress. She was called Wei Anli. Her raven black hair was tied at the top in a loop and had a braid surrounding the loop. A decorative star was placed in the center of the orderly hair while other small jewels adorned her head. A teardrop earring hung from each ear. A light grey top with flower patterns was worn over an off white shirt coming down to her wrists. There was a light blue band around the sleeves of the wrist. A lovely light-blue skirt reaching to her ankles connected with the top and tied together with a thin off white linen strip tied in a bow.

Near to her, there was a boy in a thin gray robe over a dark grey shirt and black pants. His clothes were mostly torn and if you looked at the tears you could see scratches and scars. The robe had a hood that was down so it was easy to see the bright red hair of the boy. About halfway down the back of his hair was a line of black hair separating the upper red hair to the lower red hair. Both of his hands were on the ground as he continued panting.

Jayden stood up slowly and wiped away the snot and tears. He was wearing a white t-shirt with red stripes on the arms and a red stylish box with a purple ghost on the front. He had blue jeans and red and white sneakers. His hair was a dark reddish-brown color cut short.

He looked at the area around him and saw a black tear in the air behind him. He also noticed there weren't any plants or vegetables visible. It looked like they were in a dessert. However, he did spy a road not far from them.

The other two kids finally noticed they weren't alone and looked at each other. They too had shared their memories and seen the memories of the other two. They recognized each other and had an indescribably sense of closeness to one another. However, they didn't understand what was going on. Where were they and how had they gotten here.

"Hello, my name is Jayden. What's your name," Jayden said. The others looked at him confused. "Do you understand me? Do you speak English?" He asked.

The girl and the boy both tried to speak but to Jayden's ears, they were both speaking gibberish. They continued to try and communicate with one another but weren't getting anywhere. Finally, they gave up and sat on the ground. Once they were all sitting on the ground they felt something like an electric shock going through their bodies. Their eyes went blank.

All three of the kids looked like they were reading something as their eyes were moving from left to right or right to left depending on how their language was written. Jayden heard a sound in his ears.

"Welcome, to the Expanding Galaxy Superhero Gaming System, the game where you become the hero of your dreams. Brought to you by G8 Superior Gaming Systems."

The girl, however, heard something slightly different. "Welcome to the Immortal Lands Gaming System where you walk the path to immortality. Brought to you by G8 Superior Gaming Systems.

The boy with red hair also received a slightly different welcome message. "Welcome to Wizards World, Become the Ultimate Magic Wielder. Brought to you by G8 Superior Gaming Systems.

As the welcome messages ended screens opened in front of all three of the young people. Out of the three of them, Jayden was the most familiar with a gaming screen having played a little when he could get on one of the three computers in the orphanage. A quick tutorial played for each one followed by a message "The Common Tongue has been downloaded. The screen disappeared. Without the screens in front of them, the three kids were looking at each other once more.

"Hello, my name is Jayden Brody, what's your name?" He asked.

Hi everyone! Welcome to my new novel. This is my second novel series on Webnovel. The first series was called "The Invincible Hero." I wrote it a couple of years ago and just couldn't decide what I wanted to write next.

I've finally found something I will think is fun and if you agree, please send spirit stones my way. Plus, tell your friends about the book and add it to your library.

I plan to release 7 chapters a week and if I meet a weekly goal I'll release extra chapters. For 500 spirit stones, I'll release two more chapters and for 700 spirit stones, I'll release four more chapters. I'll release the extra chapters together on Sundays.

Don't forget to comment and tell me what you think about the story!
