They fight in desperation to kill their next meal, only for Kana to be heavily wounded and collapse next to the wolf who tore his body to shreds. Arrival At The Human Kingdom: Percy

Night had fallen and the stars revealed themselves lighting up the path that was otherwise placed over a great shadow from the massive trees that spiralled up outside of the outer wall of the Capital of the Human Kingdom, Percy. The capital itself was formally named after one of the greatest Heroes of this world, Percy Wintringham.

My feet mushed into the boggy ground that was all to common for this time of the year, and my breath smoked as I pulled back my head covering allowing it to formulate in a visible image for my eyes ahead of me.

What the? What gives with the line of people at the front gate of the capital? Looks like they're... handing something over to the guard? Are they here to work and therefore need to submit there permits? Hopefully I won't need to go to another entrance to get inside. I though as people handed over booklets and papers over to the guards who would then proceed to look at them and either turn them away or allow them entry.

I decided to dismiss any doubts I held and went up to queue at the back of the line. There would be no point in speculating over things I may not have even had to turn my head towards.

The line soon dissipated, as people either got accepted or were turned away, some even being placed in handcuffs and escorted by other guards that stood on standby. My heart however, remained steady. There was no need to stress. I am neither a criminal, nor someone who wants to work here. I should be able to get into the city with no problem.

"Papers." The guard called out to me as I arrived at the front of the queue.

I naturally scratch my head before replying to him, "I'm not here to start my business or to transport goods, I'm only here to enter the city", in an innocent voice.

The guard then looked at me confused and freakishly raised only one of his eyebrows and repeated his words. "Papers."

So it wasn't a work permit that the other people were submitting? So it had to be something else, and the worst part about it, is that it seems I need whatever these papers are.

I then lean in and cup my hand around my mouth before politely whispering. "What papers do you mean sir?"

The two guards that stood in front of me sighed at each over in disappointment. Then the one with a thick brow moustache finally spoke up to me in an unmotivated manner. "Identification papers."

I laugh awkwardly at him whilst looking completely dumbfounded hoping he would elaborate further with his explanation.

The guard, being tired of my ignorance, rightfully sighs again and proceeds to continue his demands. "Papers given to you to prove your identity and past. These papers can be contracts from your ex-job, any documents you might have had travelling across sea, anything of the sort. Do you have any of those sir?"

I go silent on the two guards, not responding and ignoring their existence, scratching the back of my head whilst I thought of any papers that I had like that on my body.

Wait. What about my Guild certificate?

"Would an Adventurers Guild certificate suffice?"

The two soldiers nodded at my question in unison, as I hurried to my bag and pulled out a wet scrunched up piece of paper where the ink was barely readable, and I handed it over.

The two guards closely leaned into the paper and looked back up at me who stood tall above them... then back to the paper and at me again. They do this multiple times before they look at each over again, and sighed for the third time since I started speaking to them.

"I'm sorry... *Sigh* but this is barely readable. The paper is scrunched up, wet and some parts are ripped. The ink is smudged and the stamp is worn out. I can't allow you to pass through the gate with this." He said in a deprecating voice seeing my face fall into a full focus state, biting my lip and everything.

Is this guy an idiot, or is he trying to make my life harder? That's what he probably thought. At least, I would have.

"But please!" I beg to the soldiers who held their firm ground and continued gesturing to me that they wouldn't allow me to pass through the gate.

"Please leave immediately!" They shouted at me as I got shoved to the side by the guards who watched over the queue.

Guess I need to make them think that I've left before I make my move then. I thought to myself as I walked back into the natural cover of the forest that I came from. I then jumped up a tree and climbed to the top, rustling in the canopy against the branches. Thirty or so minutes pass by as I waited in the chilling cold until I finally moved out and climbed down from the tree. I circled round the border of the looming wall to a secluded spot where no entrance nor guards stood.

"This spot should be plenty good." I spoke to myself, a cocky smirk plastered on my face. I began channelling Source KI throughout my body allowing the hot energy warm up my internal temperature and supply my muscles with the necessary strength. I steady myself before leaping into the air and digging my hands and feet in the structure of the stone wall that circled the entire capital. I don't stop there and explode upwards at incredible speed, dashing to the top in a mere three seconds and stopping myself before jumping up onto the actual wall. I sneakily pop my head up scouting the wall for guards and spot three on this side.

They were all huddled close, smoking fat cigars that were lit up in a bright amber. Seeing this perfect opportunity, I throw myself over on to the wall and before any of them could react, I swiftly poured my mana across the moist walls that froze up in a steam of cold ice, encasing their bodies.

"Done." I assure myself. I place my hand on my hips and my eyes stretched out, looking down on the capital that was so brightly lit and filled with people's laughter, the booming noises of factories and the traffic on the streets caused by the carriages.

"Phummmmm."

"Ahhhhhhhhhh." I take a deep breath in and out as I steadied my racing heart.

"Now where could you possibly be, King of Light? Lance Dust."
