LOUISE.
Monday came sooner than I expected. I woke up at about 6:30am. It took me 20 minutes to get ready.
I smoothened my black fitted skirt, an orange T-shirt which has the restaurant's logo at the back and my black boots. My makeup is just a nude lipstick for my chapped lips.
Then I tied my blonde hair into a ponytail, not a single strand was loosened. It took me another 50 minutes to get to the restaurant.
"Hey Lou, how was your weekend". Missy greeted as soon as she saw me.
"It was fine, although I was indoors all the time," I replied.
The bells rang signaling the arrival of a customer. I got busy taking orders and serving the customers.
I
stopped
breathing.
He was sitting at a table with two other men dressed in well fitted Armani suits.
My heart was racing. My chest grew so tight that I could barely breath. Images of the past flashed through my mind, stirring deep emotions in me.
In the public eye, he was the perfect example of a gentleman, kind, generous and a philanthropist. These virtues made me subdue my pride, dignity and emotions to do his will. Only I knew the real devil underneath.
I looked around the restaurant for my co-workers to go to the table where he sat, but they all seemed busy.
So, I masked my emotions, wearing a blank expression I made my way to his table.
"What would you like to order?"
They all turned to look at me and that's when I saw him.
Alejandro.
He sat there with his usual austere expression. His brown eyes looked at me in recognition before returning his gaze to the papers in front of him.
"Louise, wow it's been a while, how have you been." A familiar voice said.
"Mr. Mcgyver, it's good to see you too. So what are you ordering?" I tried as much as possible to reply politely.
"I would like a plate of minestrone soup and a glass of iced tea." Everything about him disgusted me.
"Diet coke," the other man replied.
"A glass of Chinotto with a slice of lemon," Alejandro replied softly, yet so cold.
They dropped a huge tip after paying the bills.

I stopped fighting a long time ago. I had to put the welfare of my family into consideration.
I didn't push or scream. I forced myself to feel no emotions as he rammed into me till he finally had his fill.
After he spilled his seed in me, he left.
I bottled up all the pain, tears were threatening to come out of my eyes. I needed to get to my sanctuary to get my anxiety pills.
My sanctuary was a cave I found along the path to the Marimac Lake. I kept the anxiety pills and a few clothes there. It was also the place where I could let out my pent up emotions.
My heart started to burn and my eyes became blurry. The pain was familiar. This was my secret to bear.
The scene changed, I am in a car with Mr. Mcgyver, suddenly the face changes to Dad's.
I know, it's the night of the accident.
"Dad! Dad! Watch out!" But he keeps smiling at me.
"Call 911. Are they still alive."
Blood is splattered everywhere. I felt hands grabbing my arms and pulling me out and away from the car.
The smell of fuel is strong.
I can hear different voices.
"The man is dead, the glass cut deep into his stomach."
"The car is gonna blow up, move away from the car!"
Suddenly the car goes up in flames with my Dad inside. That's when I succumb to the darkness.
