Prologue

Love they say, is just an emotion. But to some... it's liberty — or a curse — and to a very few, a weapon! It is the most complicated emotion in existence, capable of making a person go out of his ways once he gains it — or is deprived of it.

It rained in torrents, the droplets beating madly against the tarred road as if a war had ensued between them. The lightnings danced in a frenzy about the sky, shedding their miserable light on the earth, while the wind blew harshly, increasing the chill of the night; even threatening to knock off the trees from where they stood. And from out of the darkness of the lonely night, a car zoomed recklessly pass a truck. "Insane people!" The truck driver cursed, infuriated by the recklessness of the driver that zoomed pass him. "Nobody's normal in this country again. I wonder what the rush's for" the old man muttered to himself, oblivious of the great pain the driver suffered — unaware of how much her heart had been bruised. The truck driver whistled his favorite song to himself as he continued his journey, minding his business and keeping his focus on the road. He had not gone far when suddenly an explosion happened behind him. The old man matched his brakes with all the strength he could muster, forcing his tires to screech a reply as the truck finally stopped. He observed in awe the magnitude of the explosion through his side mirror. Out of curiosity, the old man reversed his truck and drove towards inferno to know what had been the cause of the explosion. The old man turned pale on getting to the explosion site as he recognized something — it was the car that had zoomed pass him a few seconds ago. Warily, the old man alighted from his truck and trudged closer towards the flaming Mercedes-C class and to his amazement there was someone inside it — though dead now. He could not make out what this strange person looked like, not even the gender as it had been badly burnt. After a few internal struggles, the oldman decided to involve the cops. In less than fifteen minutes after informing the police, the explosion site was soon swarmed with police officers, forensics and fire fighters who extinguished the fire within seconds but sadly, could not rescue the victim claimed by the explosion. After being interviewed by the cops the truck driver was allowed to leave while the police officers continued with their investigation. After a few minutes, a strange car that had been packed by the roadside which the police did not notice began to exit the crime scene.
