Miranda thought that the universe is quite funny. How he suddenly appeared, at the same restaurant she was having dinner at.
She hardened her gaze when she noticed that he was not alone. She saw a slender woman in a white dress get out of a white cat nearby to the Cayenne.
Is that the same lady she saw before? Whatever! After all, their marriage has no meaning.
"Miranda, what are you looking at?" Sam noticed Miranda's gaze out of the window. He knew she seemed distraught because she hadn't even realized all the dishes had been served.
"I'm sorry. I thought I saw someone I know." Miranda said as she looked away.
"Miranda, When did you get married?" Sam asked.
"Uhh...Recently!" Miranda replied.
"I know it's not my place to ask you. Did you fight with your husband that night?" Sam continued.
After taking a sip of water and swallowing the steak in her mouth, Miranda forced a smile and replied, "No."
Richard had a bored and deadpan look on his face as he silently observed Kimberly as she kept stealing glances at him while she ate. He was sorely irritated by her.
His gaze flickered when he crossed a glance with someone familiar. Miranda feels a sudden shock in her heart. "Our eyes met!" she screamed at her brain.
"Richard," Kimberly called him. "You don't want to have dinner with me? Or this restaurant is not to Your taste?
"No, that's not it. I'm sorry. The restaurant is good. I think I'm just a little tired from work like what you've rid." Richard's eyes were uneasy. He kept on glancing secretly at Miranda's seat from time to time.
Miranda avoided looking at Richard and resumed eating food. Later, she enjoyed her remaining evening in hospital with her grandmother.
-----
Miranda took a cab and went back home. She opened the door to her bedroom. Someone was sitting quietly on the couch, but she did not notice.
When she tilted her head and saw a man sitting right there, she screamed at the top of her lungs. She got the shock of her life after seeing Richard with his deadpan expression.
Miranda clenched her chest and gasped, and her cheeks tinged with a sickly blush.
"You scared the crap out of me!"
She then collapsed instantly on the couch and breathed heavily.
"Are you go short of men, Miranda?" he asked in a low voice.
"What are you even saying?" Miranda asked in a weird tone.
"If you didn't lack men in your life, you wouldn't be looking for them everywhere you go." Richard bit out the words, glaring at her as he spoke. He made sure his message came across, hoping to elicit some guilt and provoke her.
"I am just showing gratitude to Sam for saving my life," Miranda explained.
"Ah! To look like a couple in the eyes of others Hooking up with that man?"
Miranda's heart thumped wildly in her chest when she saw the smile on Richard's face.
"Richard, I don't want to argue...."
Her words trailed off when Richard pulled her and pressed her against the wall. As he leaned even closer to her, she found that she wasn't able to move her limbs at all.
She lifted her head to gaze angrily at him. Her beautiful eyes were filled with sparks of fury.
"Richard, let go of me."
Seeing how much Miranda resembled an angry cat, Richard suddenly found the entire situation rather amusing.
He tightened his grip on her thrashing arm and grabbed hold of her chin, leaning in towards her as he did.
"I bet you lost your mind already if you tried to hook up with a guy."
"Aren't you having a date with your girlfriend.…"
Richard pressed a kiss to her lips, preventing her from verbalizing the word she was just about to spew out at him. She thrashed even more wildly, looking like a cat that was being tossed about by a maniac.
When he tasted how sweet her lips were, Richard started to kiss her even more intensely. As he pressed her against his chest, Richard wrapped an arm around her and hugged her even more tightly. His kisses fell on her face even more viciously.
A long while later, Miranda leaned her forehead against his shoulder, her cheeks completely scarlet as she tried to breathe properly again. Meanwhile, Richard's hand raked over her body lightly, as though he was very satisfied.
Coming back to her senses quickly, Miranda shoved him away from herself.
She turned around and walked straight into the room. As she straightened out her messy clothes, she noticed that her skin was still tingling with the heat of Richard's body. Miranda felt his heart stop for a bit. She suddenly felt her cheeks warm with embarrassment, as her heart raced even faster.
