OVERJOYEDD

Due to my careless mistake on my part, my cat fluffy ran away from home. It has been nearly about 3 months since I saw her. If not for the 'missing' posters my family had stuck on almost everywhere, I would have forgotten what she looked like. No words could describe the emotional turmoil that I have gone through since fluffy when missing. For all the guilt I have felt, I also had no appetite for at least the last few weeks.

Over the past three months, people have been repeatedly calling in, claiming that they have seen my dog. Each time, I would faithfully follow each trail to its end, only to end up disappointed when the cat turned out not to be fluffy. Some other people had even turned up at my house with a cat in their arms, asking for their rewards. Cute as the cats were, they were nowhere near fluffy level.

Just as I was losing hope of ever seeing fluffy again, an old lady holding a cat with her came knocking on my front door. She insisted that the dog responded to the name fluffy, but while my fluffy was as white as snow, this dog was grey! Angry that my hopes were raised and then crushed for nothing, I nearly slammed the door on her.

Suddenly, the cat leapt out from her arms and without thinking I caught the cat in mine. The cat began linking my face in a frenzy, and I swore that there was a similarity in the vigour in which fluffy used to lick me. Looking down, I noticed a white smudge on the dog's face. I rubbed at it and realised that the grey colouring was all dirt and this cat was fluffy after all!

OVERJOYED with happiness and relief, I broke down in tears while my cat nearly lapped my face, At that moment. I do not think anyone has told us which of us was happier.
