Chapter 63: The Luckiest Man on Earth

After making sure that Henley would be okay in my absence, I headed downstairs and onto the beach, deciding to go for a walk. Lord’s Point Hotel was right on the beach. Even though it was a little bit away from Estrea, I didn’t want to stay in town where we could be tracked down easily.
As I walked along the ocean, watching the tide rush in and out from the shore and the seagulls flying overhead, dipping down for a fish now and again, I couldn’t help but think of Henley.
She had been beyond gorgeous at our wedding and even this morning. But when I saw her standing at the entrance of the church, ready to walk toward me, I was done. Then, when she told me she loved me, I wanted to say it back to her, but I didn’t want it to be a lie. But she didn’t let my silence ruin the day. Instead, she treated me as if it were okay that I hadn’t responded, letting me get there in my own time.
