Chapter 5: The Ball

"Hey sorry it took me so long. So here is the plan. Father said I can only take 4 men at a time to help with whatever it is. Afterward you will return here for now. My father didn't want to do this but my brother Lycan talked him into it. Even though he isn't my blood brother he is still crown prince so dad got his opinion." "I see. Well I will have to thank him if I see him then." "Ok so the ball is in a few days. After a few days after the ball I will come see you. Oh also my brother had a feeling I had something planned but he didn't say it out loud cause he knew that father would stop me and he knows what I would do. Anyway I have to get ready but like I said I will be back in like 3 or 4 days after the ball ok?" "Yeah thanks princess." "Sure. Oh and I would suggest you take either your strongest or must trusted men. Whichever. Oh and don't worry Tax and his men are fine. They are at home now." "That's good news. How is the old man doing?" "Oh he just has a few scratches and bruises from what you did to him. He will live though." "Sorry about that. I lied when I said I was building an army. I needed new weapons to go after the organization but I didn't tell the man that." "Oh I see now that makes more sense. Do you have enough for me? I have had training in different weapons. My main one is a bow and arrow. I can also handle swords and daggers. Pretty much any weapon known to man except for those spiky looking sticks." "Haha oh you mean clubs. Yeah those are pretty heavy." "OK well I better get going before people get suspicious. Next time you see me will probably be when I told you so don't cause trouble or have your men do the same ok?" "Yeah sure." Then I waved and left the dungeon.

I finally met up with Jay. "Oh hi Jay. Sorry I'm a little late I had some business to take care of. What more do we have to do for the ball?" "Not much more. Tomorrow we pick up our outfits and your maids are going to talk to you about your hairstyle I'm sure to go with your dress and so on." "Haha yeah. Sometimes I hate being a girl because it has to be so much work. Sigh." "Haha you live through it don't worry." "Hey can we walk in the garden since we have nothing to do right now?" "Yeah sure. We can go sit on the bench by the cherry tree." "Oh good." So we had a nice walk and talk until we sat down.

I snuggled up to him and said. "I wish we would have met when I was younger. We might not have gotten engaged, but at least you would be my friend. But its embarrassing to say this but. I would have a crush on you even if we weren't engaged and I would have to bug my dad to spend more time and eventually be engaged to you." "Haha is that so? You like me that much huh?" "Well I really don't know that much about you, but every time I woke up you were there. You are always so kind to me even when I first woke up and you didn't even know who I was but you were still nice to me. Heck I didn't even know who I was at the time. Normal people wouldn't have been nice to a stranger they picked up." "Well I normally wouldn't have but, its because of dad that I am like this. When he was alive he told us good things come to those who are kind. Bad things eventually come back to you when you are bad or evil. Not only that but hopefully that person will remember us and ask for help again and if we needed it they would help us out. It doesn't always work that way but dad said whether a woman or man you must be kind got it? Those were fathers words. I wish I got to hear fathers last words mom never told us them. She said she would tell us when the time was right." "I have a feeling I know what it was. Probably that he loved you all and told you guys to look after each other." "Oh is that so?" "I would like to think so." "Thanks Talia." "Oh there is another thing you don't know about me. I don't even think my parents do. Uh I don't know how long its been going on but I can see ghosts." "Ghosts you mean as in people? Or the ones you hear in scary stories?" "People but they don't have color they are just white see through but I can see them even though they are like that." "Is that why you said that about my father? Do you see him now?" "Oh no sorry. I don't. There is no ghost at the moment. They usually come see me at night. If I do happen to see him I will let you and your family know OK?" "Thanks Talia." We sat there and talked a bit then headed towards the forest I like to hang out in.

"Hello everyone." "Oh princess. Welcome back." Said a bunny. "Thanks guys. Sorry I haven't been coming been busy with the ball. I didn't introduce him last time. This is Jay my fiancé." "Oh he is a hansome fella." Said the squirl on my shoulder. "Haha I agree." "What did the squirrel say?" "Oh she said you are a handsome fella and I agreed." "Oh well thank you. Your pretty as well." "She said thank you." "Oh you are most welcome." Then we hung out a bit then headed back inside.

It was 2 days before the ball and we picked up our outfits and I went to my room. The maids helped me put on my dress to try it on. It fit like a glove now we were trying to figure out weather we want my hair down or up. "Um girls? I have an Idea. Why don't we do half up and half down? That is my favorite style." "Oh actually what about doing 2 small braids and brading them on the top then let the rest of your hair fall down. Oh we can even curl her hair." "Actually that sounds pretty actually." "OK its decided then."

We got our last minute stuff done and it was finally the day of the ball. They hurriedly got me into my dress and put my jewelry on. I wore a simple silver necklace with a sapphire blue gem inside of it and I wore a bracelet to match but the bracelet had stones all the way around and it stretched. My Tiara had sapphire stones in it as well. I had light make up on to match my skin tone and they put a tad bit of body glitter on my face. I told them I didn't need it but they put a little on my cheeks. Now all I had to do was wait for my prince charming. I didn't have to wait long because there was a knock on my door. (Knock Knock) "Come in." I said. "Hello there Princess. My don't you look beautiful." "Oh wow you look more handsome than I thought in that outfit. I have never seen you with hair like that before. Its different. A good different. Next time though I prefer your messy hairstyle or let me pick out a hairstyle next time." "Haha I thought you would say that. OK lets go." So I put my arm in his and he escorted me down the stairs to the ball room.

Now that we were finally here it was time to make the announcement. We stood on the balcony and my father said, "Ladies and Gentleman. I proudly announce my daughter second princess of the snow kingdom Talia is engaged to Jay Evans. Congratulations you two." "Thank you daddy." I gave him a hug and kissed his cheek. While we were waiving to the people Jay snuck a kiss in and kissed me on the lips. I was shocked he blushed too and their were whistles and cheers. Now it was time for the first dance. Usually when our engagement is announced the engagement couple have their first dance. Since we picked it out together hopefully we won't mess up. "Nervous Talia?" "You noticed?" "Haha its hard not to. Your so stiff and that face of yours. Don't worry just look at me and pretend no one else is here ok?" "OK I'll try." So I put my hand in his then he put his other hand on my waist and mine was on his shoulder. Then the music played and I did what he told me I looked at him and tried to pretend no one else was there and I was more relaxed.

Once the song was finished everyone clapped and started congratulating us. After so many congratulations I was tired and wanted some fresh air. "Hey can we go get some fresh air? After we can dance a little more." "OK sure." So we walked outside and sat at a table. "Sigh. Fresh air." "You feeling better?" "Much now that your with me. I can't wait till we marry. I just wish we would be able to spend as much time together as we want. Its not possible though. I mean Yes I will have free time but I have work to do as crown princess. I always thought that older siblings were crowned I guess its not always the case." "Its ok we can work around it. We should be able to at least spend time talking at night right? Before we got to bed?" "Yes that is the plan. I want to tell you about my day, have some fun then go to sleep." I saw him blush. "Oh come on your not a kid anymore Jay." "Well you're the first girl I have ever had." "Really? But you are 24 years old." "I know. I have just not met the right one until now." "Aww thanks Jay." Then I kissed him on the cheek and he said, "OK are you rested enough?" "Yeah lets go dance a couple songs then It will be father daughter dance then random people dancing with you and me." "Haha sounds like fun right?" "I guess. I just want to spend alone time with you soon." "I know we will don't worry. Lets dance like you said then after the party we will find some." "Ok I hope so." So we danced to a few more songs and I danced with my father then I danced with other people and so did Jay. I danced with the Evans youngest son, I danced with my brothers, My mother danced with Jay which was funny seeing him nervous. Hehe I also danced with Tax and his men. Tax was an interesting dancer and he looked good in a tux. Finally the ball was coming to a close.

Toward the end I drank a little too much. I noticed Jay and another person helping me. "Tax?" "Its me and your brother as well." "Oh how wonderful. Big brother helping me out. How sweet." I patted cheek. Lycan said, "Sis you are so drunk." "Hehe I never said I wasn't. Hmph." "Should we go get someone to get her ready for bed?" said Tax. "No lets get her sober first. When she goes to bed drunk you don't want to see her in the morning." "Ok thanks for the heads up. I'll remember in the future." "Good Idea." Said Lycan.

While the 3 guys were trying to sober her up, her big sister heard about it and so did her mom and little brother. They went up to her lounge room where she was to check on her. "Mom thank God you're here. Its worse than we thought. She is more drunk than before we need help." "That bad huh?" said mom. "Is she going to be ok?" said Onyx. "Don't worry Onyx she will be fine. In fact I might know someone who can help. Everyone stay here and keep trying to sober her up ok?" "I'll try mom." "Hey Tax what did you usually do when she was drunk with you guys?" "We really didn't need to do anything by the time we knew she was already passed out and when she woke up…" "So you have seen it. Sigh sorry about that." "Oh its not the first time so don't worry." "That makes it more scary. Sorry." "Its all good." She kept throwing tantrums like a child and touching everthing she can get her hands on. They tried to stop her but they had no way to at the moment. Then they thought of a way. "Hey Jay how strong are you?" "Pretty strong why?" "Are you strong enough to hold Talia until our mom comes back?" "Ha I'll try she is pretty strong. Plus Tax will help right man?" "Yes since its definitely for her safety." "Thanks man." "OK I'm going to see whats holding mom up." Her siblings went with their mom. "NO big brother don't go. Please I need you. I need you." "Its ok Talia. Your going to be ok we promise." Said Jay. "Oh hello Jay what are you doing here sweet thing?" "I am just holding you until your mom comes back." "Oh mommy is coming. Yay. When will she be here? Oh Hi handsome man." She said to Tax. "Well thank you princess. I know you don't mean it though." "Why wouldn't I you look good in that tux. So do you Jay. Hey Jay have you always looked that handsome?" "Um. I guess so?" "Why do to talk as your no so sure?" "Your drunk you need to calm down and take deep breaths." "I don't feel so good. I feel dizzy." "Hang on you will get help soon so try to stay awake oK?" "I can't I think I'm going to pass out." Then mom the doctor and Mrs Evan's came.

"Hey doc I don't feel so good." "Well you did drink a lot. Did anyone see how much she drank?" "Well she was hanging out with her sister Azura and a few other girls. Azura how much did she drink?" "Well she shouldn't have gotten drunk that quick. Someone must have either poisoned her drink or snuck something else in her wine." "Oh no this isn't good. Lets check her out quickly. OK I'm going to need Jay her brother big sister and her mom with us everyone else out." "Yes sir." "OK what can we do to help?" said Lycan. "OK I have got you two men for strength and your girls for emotional support. Hey princess what are your symptoms?" "I feel dizzy. And weird." "Weird how?" Then she started spacing out and he felt her head. "Dammit! I think she might have been poisoned. I think I know which one too. Luckily I got my bag and the antidote in it. How long has she been like this?" For about 20 minutes why?" said Lycan. "If I don't give her this in the next 10 minutes she will die." "Its that serious?" "Yes." He got the syringe and the medicine. He put the syringe in the medicine and said, "This is where I might need your help she may or may not feel it since she is not in her right mind and I need you to hold her down." "Yes Sir." Said Lycan. "If you can hear me princess this may hurt. Your brother and Jay are here with you, so is your mom and big sister." Everyone saw her crying. Then he put the needled in her arm and the boys had to hold her down. She was screaming big time and her father came running to see what was going on. "What's wrong with my daughter?" "I just gave her medicine your majesty. Someone poisoned her. I had to give her the antidote, If I didn't she would have been dead in 10 minutes." "Well thank you for saving her. How is she now?" "OK you guys can let her go now. She is calming down." They let her go and she said, "Mommy Daddy Sissy I was so scared. Oh brother thank you for your help. You too Jay." She was in tears. "Everyone there is something I need to tell you. Its important." " I can see ghosts."
