Chapter 9: Eight moon Defense Technique

"My lady please wake up soon" a young maid called out to the sleeping young maiden who frequently frowned in her sleep. Her long lashes flutter from time to time as if she was going to wake up soon, but it was always false hope.

"Mother I'm sorry" Qaihong Gho muttered in her sleep, streams of tears slid down her rosy cheeks Her personal maid Cheng Chin pulled out a handkerchief to try and dry up her young lady's tears.

After an unknown amount of time, the sun slowly hid behind the landscape of the Guiying continent. A doctor enters a guest bedroom to go and check on his patient, he placed a cloth over her wrist and checked her pulse.

A small pale hand gripped the doctor by the throat, the doctor's eyes widen petrified, the sleeping young maiden had awakened, her eyes glowing in an eerily blue. Her eyes are bloodshot, visible veins pop up on her pretty features.

The doctor tried to force the girl to release him from her death grip that would surely kill him if given enough time, he made gurgling sounds trying his best to get the guard's outside attention. The bedroom door of the guest bedroom swung open to see a paled face doctor on the ground coughing blood.

"Imperial doctor Ping what happens?!" the guards quickly came to assist the doctor, imperial doctor ping gasped for air "Her highness had attacked me subconsciously. She is still sleeping when I was checking her condition when out of nowhere she had attacked me with Qi refinement stage one strength" Doctor ping reported between gasps.

One of the guards looked conflicted "everyone out, expect doctor Ping" the head guard order in a domineering tone. The room became fifty degrees colder once everyone left, the doctor gulp "What else you haven't told me?" his coal color eyes became the void itself.

The doctor pulled at his collar "She doesn't have a qi detain" he replied quietly, the head guard looked at him in disbelief "Let me check" the guard storm past the imperial doctor and checked Qaihong Gho pulse.

He input his qi only to find a strange force pushing back his qi, his eyes snapped open wide "What in the seven heavens" he gasped in shock and looked over at the doctor.

The guard took a bottle of pills out for the qi gathering realm and toss it over to the imperial doctor "Take these for your silence" the head guard dismissed the doctor and took a seat.

His eyes beamed with excitement "Now my lady can somewhat defend herself" he uttered with a rare smile gracing his well-aged features. Later that night she open her eyes revealing the golden orbs hidden within.

Her first reaction was to look out the window where the moon had risen high up into the sky, she sluggishly got out of bed to grab her chalk, flowers, and candles. She began drawing the formation despite her body protesting to stay in bed.

She finished setting up her formation with a smile "Time is of the essence, I need to get stronger before I get killed by some unknown force!" she muttered to herself. She sat in the middle and began to cultivate as the moon has already risen high enough for her to absorb the moon essence.

"Congrats my child you have advanced to the first stage of Moon Essence Refinement" Angel's small hands patted me on my head. I peeked an eye open at him "Really? So I can refine better moon essence?" I asked.

Angel nodded his small chibi head "If you had noticed all of your senses have become better than before. During moon essence refinement you can still cultivate under the moon but you need to refine all of the moon essences you have gathered so far into pure moon essence" Angel explained gently.

I nodded my head silently and began taking sliver strings of my moon essence and started getting rid of the impurities. After an unknown amount of time, I have opened my eyes "Angel how long does it take to refine all of my moon essences?" I asked in a worried tone.

Angel chuckled "It takes a while, my child, the good thing about being in the Moon Essence refinement stage is that you can refine your qi during the daytime as well as long you stay out of direct sunlight" Angel replied with that same caring look of a proud parent.

I nodded my head and looked towards the sky "Looks like I have been cultivating all night" I uttered out before entering back inside my room to find a panicking Cheng Chin. A light giggled escaped my slightly plump lips.

"My lady! I am so glad you weren't severely injured again!" Cheng Chin broke down in tears again and grip the bottom of my nightgown in her small fists. I patted her head feeling somewhat awkward again by my maid crying her soul out.

"Cheng Chin I am not dead yet! And congrats on your breakthrough to Qi refinement realm" I spoke softly, Cheng Chin sniffled. I toss her a hopeless smile "Cheng Chin please clean up your tears or else everyone else will think I abuse you" I reminded her of our situation, she quickly wipe away her tears on her sleeves.

"I'll go run you a bath, my lady!" She scurried off to go prepare my bath with a happy smile gracing her still maturing features. I took out my clay figurine of her and began my work once again. Carving in the final details I hold it father away to admire my work "Looks just like her" I grinned to myself with a childish amusement.

Cheng Chin rushed out of the bathroom with a bucket in her arms "My lady the herbs are on the folding table by the tub, please excuse me" she bowed her head then left in a hurry. I put the almost finished figure inside a drawer and put herbs inside my bath to help relax my aching muscles.

After soaking in the tub, Cheng Chin came inside the bathroom with a purple and blue hanfu in her arms. She dried me off and proceed to dress me and she put my hair up into a simple bun that has small braids holding it in place. The rest of my hair got combed out again before she started putting hair accessories into my hairdo.

"My lady, a few strands of your hair is completely white!" Cheng Chin gasped in horror "Don't worry about it Cheng Chin, it's not that noticeable" I replied with a gentle expression. Cheng Chin finished up the touches in my hair before releasing me to go and eat my breakfast.

While eating Cheng Chin stood silently off to the side "My lady what do you have planned for today?" Cheng Chin sounded very hesitant about asking the question but before I could answer someone knocked on my door.

Cheng Chin walked over to the door and open it, she talked to them a bit before letting them in, a eunuch lowered his head and pay his respects "Your highness royal prince Xiang and Xeiren are requesting for your highness company" he kept his head lower not daring to meet my golden eyes.

Putting a spoon in my mouth I looked up in thought 'now what are my death flags planning, did I offend them somehow?' I looked back towards the eunuch with a complicated expression "sure, let the princes know I'll be over there in a moment" I replied in a bleak tone that sent chills down the eunuch's spine.

The eunuch smiled faintly and left "Cheng Chin stay close to my side" I order her, she nodded her head without question. Later I made my way with a eunuch help to the two princes of Guiying garden as it's much more appropriate to meet them here than their chambers.

"Angel do you have any method for me to create some sort of protection for me?" I mumbled out my question not wanting the eunuch to hear. Angel looked thoughtful "I have obtained this manual a while ago, it's a protection base skill" Angel passed over a book bigger than himself to me.

I will have to read this later since I am approaching the garden fast and who knows what horror awaits for me.
