Chapter - 4

Claire was still floating in the blunder of daydream when she was suddenly pulled aback by her best friend. Lilly didn't notice what was going on between Claire and Billy but she directly picked up Claire's bag and pulled her out of bench by her wrist.

"Ahh... Lilly wait...what are you doing?" Claire tried to pull her hand out from Lilly's grasp but it was too late. She was now literally dragging her out.

"Let go of me Lilly. What has gotten into you? You are hurting me" Once out of class, Claire finally pulled her hands back. Her wrist already got the print of Lilly's hand and they were red by now. She massaged her hand as she glanced over Lilly with teary eyes.

Lilly glanced over her red wrist and felt guilty for doing so. Claire was a fragile one from her childhood. She would easily get tanned or sun burn, red marks around her body with small force and all.

"I'm sorry Cla, I didn't mean to hurt you. It was just that blockhead pissed me off and I was so driven away from anger that I..." Lilly explained in hurry.

"Phew... I'm sorry. I won't do it again." Lilly sighed as she held both of her ears.

"Huh? Is it that easy?" Claire didn't seem to forgive her so easily. She turned another side.

"Okay, I'll buy you your favorite ice-cream, fine? Now talk to me already" Lilly hold her hand and began to pull Claire towards her.

"Okay Okay, don't shake me." Claire grinned.

Lilly immediately stopped and they both walked towards their next class laughing...

Later at the break time, Lilly walked into the cafeteria along with Claire when they saw a group of boys and girls were surrounding a table as if there was some superstar. It turned out Austin had agreed to pay for everyone's foods today since it was his first day at school.

"Why would he do that for?" Claire mumbled in a soft voice as Lilly's brows twitched together.

"What a show off..." Lilly muttered under her breathe. Seeing people surrounding him like bees around flower made Lilly irritated. What annoyed her was their stupid comments like -

"Oh he's so kind"

"He should be very rich"

"I already have a crush on him, look how handsome he is"

"He only not has good face but good heart too... I wish he's my boyfriend already"

It was mostly girls drooling over him. Boys on the other hand were being nice to him even though they are jealous inside their hearts.

"Yeah he look like a model out of some magazine... It's a pity that some girl didn't notice his charm and get on his bad side at the very first day. I wonder how is she going to feel after she realizes she lost a chance with such a amazing guy by fighting with him" It was Ada Miller, the mean and popular girl of the school. She was the daughter of principal and was a beauty but she always envied Lilly because her father always keeps praising her and asks her to be more like Lilly. Ada hates Lilly to her limit.

Lilly rolled her eyes at the Ada's words. "A school meanie and a showoff... ptff" Lilly scoffed as she sat on her usual table. She didn't look at Austin but she could still hear how people were buttering him and it made her sick to her stomach. She really wanted to throw up at the scene.

On the other hand, Austin had a small smirk on his lips as he saw the annoyed face of Lilly Jones.

Few minutes earlier...

Austin was looking outside the window when he noticed that Lilly was also heading towards cafeteria with her friends.

Chad, a senior from college saw him looking at Lilly and came to his table. He had been having a crush on Lilly from the very first day Lilly came to this college. But he didn't get a chance to confess till now yet he heard that Lilly and Austin's fight today. It somehow made him uncomfortable.

"New boy, I heard you pick on a fight on the very first day?" Chad sat on the chair across Austin.

"Yeah that too with a most favorite girl" Brian sat next to Chad.

"Favorite?" Austin's brows knitted together.

"Yeah, there are two popular girls in school... Ada and Lilly. Since we don't know which one is more popular, we call them the favorite one and rich one.

Lilly Jones is the favorite one since she is kind to everyone. We also call her beauty with brain and Ada is the rich one. Her father is the principal of the school" Brian explained further.

Austin looked at the Lilly who was coming closer and closer. "Popular, huh? Let's see then" with that thought he got up from his table and announced that today's bill was on him
