Chapter 10 - We Are Found

ACE KIEN FIERA

It's been days since we decided to run away. I don't know what her intention is but all I know is that she wants me to be by her side and I too want that.

"You hungry?" She asked. I nodded as an answer. We are in a place far away from those people who knew us. I think.

We are staying at a beach house and other than us, I don't see any people from this place. There were a few but their place is far from us. They look like normal people and by normal, I mean they look like they don't know about me. It's as if the people here were isolated from the world.

Their lives are simple as I observe them from afar. They live in a nipa hut and most of them are at the sea catching fish for a living. In this house, there are a few appliances that we can use. Compare to them, this house is a bit modernized. I also noticed that this place has no signal, so there is no internet too. There is a television but there are only a few channels and most of them are news channels.

We rode on a helicopter to get here, a private one. Though I do not know how she managed to get one, I'm glad that we got here already and we are finally away from them.

"Here," Aviana said and put a plate in front of me. The house is a bit small compared to the house I used to live in but the view from the sea is breathtaking. I turned my gaze to her and she is now walking towards our room. So, I began to eat what she served.

When I was finished, I decided to go out and see the sea.

"The sun is setting." She said out of a sudden. I was unable to notice her presence and just realized that she was behind me. I gently pulled her in front of me and embraced her.

"I wish to be like this until the end." She said while turning her head towards me as she hugged me very tightly. I don't know what she meant by those words of hers but I too want this until the end of our lifetime. Just the two of us living peacefully as we watch the sunrise and the sunset from here.

However, we still don't know what will happen in the future and I think I have a hint that her wish could never come true. I sense something… trouble, it seems and I think she senses it too. We know that it will come very soon and the outcome may not what we want.

I just recently get to know this side of her when we started living here. She is very weak inside but she loves to show off her strong personality to other people. I don't know why but I think she has to do it or others will surely take advantage of her. I find it rare especially for a girl.

"Me too." I just simply answered holding her tightly.

"I'll be in the market tomorrow. Do you want to tag along?" She asked and I just nodded in return.

After we watch the sunset, we finally went inside and decided to watch some television. The channel was on the news. We were silently watching it until my face showed up on the screen. They are looking for me but they are saying that I was kidnapped.

What the hell are they doing?

Lies.

"We should sleep," I said and turned off the television. I noticed that she just smiled regardless of what she saw and heard.

"Aviana."

"Please show me that you are affected by the news. Don't act like you are not hurt and please don't ever smile like that." I said as I gently pulled her face and kissed her. She responded to what I did, which made me carry her on my lap and just kiss her. I don't know how I managed to touch her without even thinking. I remember before, I don't even have the courage to talk to her.

"W-wait." She slightly pushed me.

"Not now." She added and kissed me.

"I'm sorry. I was unable to control myself."

"I just badly want to touch you. Because I think any minute you can be out of my sight. Damn it!" I said embracing her but she just holds onto both of my cheeks and raised my face while looking into my eyes. Her cold eyes before are now gone. All I can see now are her beautiful eyes.

"I will never leave you."

"I promise that. And if I or… you left me in the end, I will surely find a way to be with you." She said while grinning at me and then she continued to kiss me passionately.

"Trust me." She stated between our kisses.

After that, we proceeded to our room and slept before this gets out of control.

What can happen if I'm taken away or she is taken away?

What could I possibly do?

I'm a coward.

I can't even defend her from my family when they were talking bad things about her. I look at her and she is just calmly sleeping now. I embraced her and waited until tomorrow comes.

"I'll just get some meat over there." She said and proceeds to walk.

We are now in the marketplace. It's so loud here and it stinks but never mind that, we are here for our food. We continued to look around. There is a lot of good food here, mostly fresh fish and different kinds of seafood from the sea.

I proceeded to walk but a minute later… I realized Aviana wasn't beside me anymore and after minutes of walking trying to find her, I found myself lost. This is the first time that we went far from that house and for that reason, we can get lost anytime. I mean, I can get lost anytime.

I looked everywhere and noticed that there is no one around anymore. I started to search for an exit from this alley but I stopped walking when someone suddenly pointed something at my back.

I think that it's a gun.

Is this a hold-up?

"Follow me." The person suddenly stated. I can't see his face because he was behind me but because of his voice… I started to recognize him. Despite that, I did what he asked and followed him.

Then, I noticed that he brought me to a very dark alley compared to before. This is very far from the market and from here, there was no one else besides us. I was surprised when he suddenly pulled my arms which made me look at his face and that is when I finally saw him.

"What the fuck is wrong with you Ace!" He shouted angrily, just as I thought, it was Sean.

"How did you find us?" I asked troubled and I only heard him scoff and then glared at me.

"I had some connections." He answered.

"But that is not the problem here Ace. What the hell did you do?" Sean asked pissed.

"I wanted to escape and to be with her," I answered.

"Are you nuts!" He shouted but I didn't pay any attention to what he was saying. My eyes were caught up by his hands. I was silently staring at it as I wonder why does he have a gun?

"You know that she could get in danger if you continue to be with her. I know you don't want that!" He said and pushed me towards the wall.

"Sean," I called. He stopped as he looked at me thoroughly.

"Where did you get that gun?" I asked boldly. He looked surprised by the question so he immediately hid his gun.

"None of your business." He stated.

"Ace, just..." He paused and sighed then continued to look at me again. I'm not used to seeing him like this. He looks so worn out and frustrated. This is the first time that I get to see him like this.

"Come with me tonight, we will go back together. This is the only way to save her. You know your family, Ace. This is your warning." Sean said.

"I'll be waiting outside your house." He added then finally left me. This is why I feel like someone has been looking at us these past few days. Sean has been spying on us. If my family finds out where we are, they will surely come for her. I don't know what to do anymore.

Why didn't I even think that she could get in danger because of me?

But I still can't forget why Sean has a gun in his hand. It's not that he shouldn't have one but why did he bring it here?

Is he here to kill someone?
