The heat, my heartbeat slamming against my fucking chest like it would fall off. I don't know which got me grasping at straw but all I knew was it was this man before me. She told me one word that was enough to uplift my spirits and put all those years of doubt to shame. He doesn't see me for WHAT I am, he sees me for what I AM. That was a big difference, he has changed, and he's no longer carrying that unyielding pride of being a Venator.

I think he has abandoned that notion, I knew he either did it for Emma or himself or maybe both but that was all that mattered because it doesn't seem like he's carrying the fate of the world anymore who won't recognize him for all he does. He's doing it for the people he holds dear and that is okay, because I'm one of those people and with the way he looks at me now, it looks like I was the only one enclosing his very existence, just like he does mine.
