It's A Plan

"What is this place?" Monette whispered as they watched Calixto's back as he stood, unmoving with his hands in his pockets, staring at the huge gray building in front of them.

Iris bit the inside of her cheeks to stop herself from snapping at Monette. She didn't have to ask her because anyone with eyes could see the huge name written on top of those buildings.

They are in one of the Stocker Corporation factories.

Iris heaved a deep sigh and replied. "Stocker Corporation."

"Why are we here?"

Iris didn't hide it when she rolled her eyes in annoyance. She can only tolerate too much.

She folded her arms over her chest and stared at Calixto, ignoring Monette with her nonsense questions.

"You know you should improve your social skills," she snapped at her when she didn't reply to her question. "But then," she gave her a side glance, " no one can blame you. You never leave the house and you live in the basement."

"And whose fault do you think it is?" She asked laced with sarcasm. Her patience snapped at the other girl. Monette could not read the atmosphere even if her life depended on it. It's no wonder, Calixto always loses his temper with her.

"What?" She snapped back at her. "Do you think my parents wanted to put you in the basement? Aren't you listening in all those years that they kept on telling you that it was for your own safety?"

Iris gritted her teeth. A part of her knew that Monette was right but she just hated the fact that she was rubbing the truth in her face.

"You were kidnapped before and to get you back, my family put their lives in danger! And now you're blaming my parents. You're such an ungrateful bit—"

"That's the use of your family!"

Monette shrieked because she didn't notice that Calixto was already behind her.

"Listen, you ungrateful wench," he growled. "You and your family had no use to me other than taking care of my business. But through the years, you had forgotten your place just because I was sleeping. You became nothing but a useless leach, enjoying my richness as if you own it!"

Monette grabbed Iris' arm and pulled her and put her in between her and Calixto. The anger in his voice was palpable that her whole body was trembling in fear.

Iris stood frozen. She didn't see Calixto moving but when Monette started raising her voice at her, a part of her shut down. A memory flashed at the back of her mind that made her feel scared.

She stood there motionless even though she could hear Monette whimpering in fear while Calixto was growling like an animal that was about to rip his prey apart.

"This is the last time that I'm going to let this thing go. Your parents didn't raise you well. They should have fed in your thick skull that you're nothing but my slaves!"

Iris watched Monette's tear-stricken face, nodding with every word that came out of Calixto's mouth.

"Get in the car!" He hissed.

Monette scurried back to the car like a small animal about to be hunted and was running for her life.

She got into the driver's seat and started the car's engine right away. She was still shaking, thinking of her parents and what should happen to her now that she angered Calixto.

They were so far away from home and even if they were home, her parents could not do anything to save her with the current status they were in.

She could not understand how she could be so stupid sometimes. She just hated the way Iris was acting haughtily in front of her when all she did was ask her some simple questions to get the conversation going.

It was just the two of them with the vampire. They should stick together. Can't she see that it was what she wanted? But no, just like always, despite being faced with a dangerous situation, Iris was still acting like she was above her. And she hated it!

She sniffled her son and wiped her tears with the back of her hand. She looked outside and saw that Calixto was bent down in front of Iris. He was saying something and it looked like he was trying to comfort her

She gritted her teeth. She knew that Calixto likes drinking Iris's blood but to play favoritism? She can also give him her blood. She didn't believe her father when he said that Iris was the only one that could give Calixto blood.

She knew that her father was just trying to protect her from Calixto. But her father was stupid. Calixto would not harm her, if not, he would treat her nicely like what he was doing with Iris.

A little blood will be worth giving if Calixto will do to her what he was doing with Iris

In her head, she had decided not to listen to her father. Calixto said so himself. Her family was nothing but slaves. Then she would be his slave.

She would give him what he wanted the most. And she didn't need her father's permission to do it. He was already under Calixto's hypnosis. If she didn't do anything, her family would be reduced into nothing. They could not take their old life back, especially now that Calixto brought a new family into his mansion to be his servants.

She didn't want that to happen. Another thing that Calixto got right was that she and her family do enjoy the lifestyle that Calixto's money could provide.

She didn't know that it was Calixto's money, growing up she thought her father was a successful businessman and they were rich. She was born rich. That's what she knew.

Now, they are living in the servant's apartment. And she would not be surprised if she could no longer go to the school she was attending since it was only for the rich! She's losing everything!
