9. Grieving

When I wake up later I see Xandros standing next to me screaming commands to his subject who strapped my leg to stop the bleeding and he holds me going to his limousine.

"How many did come out of this maze?" I ask him when we are driving home.

"Two." He said it as if he did not even care about all the humans that had died!

Two! I go to my face wiping on it where I look at my hands covered in vampire blood.

"What have I done! I have killed all these vampires! I never killed a thing!" I screamed to him in panic finally my feeling are coming out of me and I throw it all out on him.

"How could you kill all these humans!?" I asked yelling at him.

"Cara, we are doing this for centuries it's a tradition to do these games till the eclipse disappears and we look who survived." That asshole isn't even sorrowful about the woman that had been killed! The woman with her two-year-old child at home had died in front of my eyes!

I can never forget how he is! A cruel man that liked women to suffer in these sick games. Later I step into the shower scrubbing everything off me and go back into the room where there are standing the same maids as on my wedding day. They hold a fire poker that was red by holding it into the fire. I feel arms around me almost untie my bathrobe and I feel the fire poke burning into my skin. When they put a cream on it I finally stopped screaming and look at the figure standing behind me it was that muscular vampire from before. When he let my arms lose I almost fell and when I regain myself he was gone. The maids did put in some bandages and were gone.

I didn't sleep that night. I was too sick to sleep or even eat that morning. I was sick of greeve for all the women that had died trying to survive, why couldn't I help them. Still laying in my bed I hear Xandros coming into my room when I notice he is coming closer I try to let him think I was sleeping.

"Cara, I know you are awake. You can't fool me! I hear your heartbeat pounding madly in your chest." He said still coming closer.

"Xandros go away!" I yell still not looking at him and my face pointed to the wall.

"I want you to now in the room downstairs! I had given you a week now with this pathetic behavior, stops here!" He gets angry and turned me to point me to his. But I am looking at his legs cause he is too long to even see his face here laying in bed.

What did he say? A week? Have I been laying here for a week grieving in my bed? That's why I feel so hungry after not eating for a week. The only thing where I was awake for was the bandage refreshing and the maids that cleaned my wounds.

"You get five minutes!" And he stepped out of the room. If he is thinking that I'm going to listen he is a bigger fool than I had thought. What could he do? Send me again to this game. I don't even have a choice I have to!

After five minutes I am still laying in my bed till I hear the door almost break by his anger. He comes to me and takes my shoulder and comes sitting next to me biting me into my neck. First I was shocked and hurt by him bitting me in what I thought was my safe haven.

He get on me to hold me in place because I did fight it for the first time. I kept on moving under him trying to pull him off me till that great feeling took over my body. Now I was moving not to get him off me but to hold him on me. He makes also a sound I can't hear clear by the sound of my blood sucked out of my vein.

His hands are on my hips to keep their studying underneath him and then I felt my eyes pop open looking in his. Shocked I look back to the door where I can retake my strength to fight this feeling. He know this is wrong I could see it in his eyes.

When he finally was gone I saw it in his pants now for sure he had a boner! Creeped out and disgusted I look at him wanting to go shower to get this feeling of filth off me.

Xandros was gone when I came out of the shower. I hear a knock on my door and a maid came into my room with a plate full of food. I eat like I'm starving and go then back to bed looking at the ceiling before I fell asleep.

The next day I came downstairs but Xandros was nowhere to find. I was again touring in this giant castle where I found a room where there were all the weapons hanging on the walls and a training side with weights.

I take a knife in my hand and let it fall when I hear a voice behind me.

"You must be Cleo?" I hear that voice telling me it sounded like a man and I turn around with the knife in my hand.

And there stands a young man with half-long blond hair and blue eyes. Blue like the moon outside. He had a training suit that fitted just on his body that made me look twice. You could see even his eight-pack in this suit. When he gets closer I can look better and I knew this was also one of the vampires.

"And you are?" I ask with my sarcastic voice to not let him know how impressed I am with his appearance.

"Haha, the boss told me you had a sharp tongue. I am Kado nice to meet you." I like how nice he is when I had been so rude.

He takes the knife out of my hand takes my right hand and puts it back into my hand but the right way that I could stab better.

"Try to stab me," he said with a playful voice. I didn't want to attack him immediately what he dodged by jumping in the air.

"That's cheating!" I laugh with him that jumped again just before me. We looked into each other eyes and when I want to stab him again he dodged it again by taking my arm just before I can hit him in his stomach.

"You are good. Now I know how you did survive that maze, you have a steady hand with your knife. I'm not proud of what I had done with that vampires. Ok, they were crazy by blood, but they were once humans too.

I put the knife back again where I found it and said goodbye to Kado who looked disappointed that I'm leaving.
