Katie’s POV

“Move!” Olivia demanded relentlessly.

Pauly was an unmoving force, standing stone still in front of our small apartment door. His hands were firmly folded across his chest. His face looked over Olivia’s head as she was spewing every single curse word imaginable.

Olivia was a lit fuse. No matter what anyone tried to do, nothing could temper her fury. I admired her spark. Her resilience to keep bucking, not taking the options given to us as the final say. It’s what makes her a great lawyer.

“Pauly.” Olivia changed her tone, softening it, pushing her black hair out of her face. “I’ll pay you double what Marcell is paying you if you freaking just let me out of this apartment!”

“I can’t do that ma’am,” Pauly grunted out.

“You can’t or you won’t?” Olivia was deadly.
