Chapter Nine

I hadn't been able to have a moment alone with Narcissa since Wednesday. I have to be honest, I was starting to get frustrated. Sexually and emotionally. I had thought about sneaking off into her room at night, but I didn't. I don't know I didn't, I just didn't.

Today was Sunday, which means the ball is tomorrow. Maybe then I'll get a moment alone while everyone is at the ball. Maybe we could sneak off into my room or something.

"Dracooooooo." I complain.

"Y/NNNNNNN." He mocks. I scoff and lean back in my chair.

"I'm boooooored. And you're doing nothing to keep your guest entertain." I whine. We were in his room and he was styling his hair. I let out a long sigh, making Draco chuckle.

"Alright, calm yourself you baby. What do you wanna do?" He asks me. I tap my chin as I think.

"Wizards chess!" I exclaim. Draco laughs at my excitement.

"Of course you'd choose that." He says as he walks over to his closet. He opens the doors and looks to the top shelf and finds the game immediately. He walks over to his chair, next to a little table, and sets the game up. I sit up straight and get ready to play.

"Knight to E 2." I say. My knight moves and smashes his bishop. Draco scoffs.

"Son of a bitch." I gasp dramatically.

"Draco! Language!" I yell. He just rolls his eyes with a smile and a shake of his head. I let out a small giggle, making his smile grow.

"Alright, let's see here, hmm, pawn to A 4." The pawn moves and takes out one of my pawns. I let out a huff and sink back into my seat. I was about to start complaining but I then see that he made an accidental clear path directly to his queen, meaning, I'd get checkmate. I sit up with a sly smirk.

"Queen to B 1." My queen moves and takes out Dracos, making him whine.

"What?! Aw no fair!" I let out an amused laugh.

"That's wizard's chess for ya." I say, happily. Draco just grumbles in frustration. I smirk and stand up and stand in front of him.

"Aww, is poor baby Draco sad that he lost a game of wizards chess?" I ask with a pouting lip. Draco just flips me off making me act hurt.

"Oh, Draco! How could you! I'm so offended!" I start fake crying, making him laugh.

"Oh, come on now, you know I didn't mean it Y/N/N." Draco says, standing up.

"I don't forgive you!" I say, still fake crying. Draco just laughs even harder.

"Okay, drama queen." He says.

"I'm the drama queen? Dude, you're the one who almost got an animal killed because it gave you a scratch." Draco opened his mouth to argue back but then, Indie comes in.

"Dinner is ready." She then walks back out.

"Good. I'm starving." I say.

"You're always hungry." Draco responds.

'Yep, for your mom.'

I couldn't help but laugh at my thought, making Draco shoot me a 'what' look.

"Ah, just something I remembered from our first year. Remember when we first met?" I ask. He nodded with a chuckle. It's a weird story actually. When McGonagall called my name and I sat down on the stool, me and him locked eyes. He gave me a death glare and I just rolled my eyes and looked away. I can still remember everyone's reaction at the hats words, which I still remember to this day.

"Another Weasley? Well, I must say, you do not match your siblings. You are very brave, yes. Loyalty is another quality. But, unlike your family, you do not go into Gryffindor. No no. While bravery and loyalty may be a part of your top qualities, your cunningness, ambitious nature, and thirst to prove who you truly are, make you unfit for Gryffindor. So, as it should be, SLYTHERIN!" Now, while everyone else would have dreaded being in Slytherin, I was actually happy. Like, no joke. I always knew Slytherins were misunderstood, unlike my family, whom believe that all Slytherins are evil.

I smiled widely and made my way over to the Slytherin table while everyone in the great hall was whispering about a Weasley being in Slytherin. I ignored it and sat across from Draco, who was now staring at me with amusement. When I sit down, I start talking to Draco.

"Hey, your Malfoy right?" He raises and eyebrow and smirks at me.

"That I am. How'd you know?" He asks. I smirk evily.

"Because, you're the only one here who looks like they have a stick shoved up their arse." I say, oh so innocently. His eyes widen and his smirk drops. His smirk comes back moments later.

"You're very snarky for a Weasley. I like it. You'll be hanging with me from now on." I raise my eyebrows and shrug.

"Alright." And that is how me and Draco became friends.

"Oh yeah, I remember." Draco says with a nostalgic in his voice. We exit his room and start heading to the dining room.

"Did I really look like a stick up my butt?" He asks as we reach the step.

"Yes you did. You still do today even." He sends me a playful glare, making me laugh as we enter the dining room.

"What? You know it's true." I say as we sit down.

"I do not look that!" He exclaims.

"Oh, you do too, ferret boy." I say. I see Narcissa trying not to laugh from the corner of my eye.

"I told you to stop calling me that." Draco grumbles. I smirk.

"I will never stop calling you that. Not until the day we die." Draco groans and leans back in his chair.

"Yeah, yeah." I smirk in victory. The food appears a second later and I start to dig in. While making sure to keep my "fancy" posture.

Dinner went swell. Quiet except my occasional teasing of Draco. Everytime I did tease him, I could always see that Narcissa was trying to not laugh. It made me smile, knowing that I could make her laugh.

Right now, I sat on the chair by the window of my bedroom, with another Steven King book. I was starting to get tired the more I read so I decided to stop. I finish the paragraph I was on and place my bookmark in the page and close the book. I stand up and place the book on my nightstand before walking over back to my chair. I sit down and just look out the window. I observe everything that I could see. I could see Narcissa's garden perfectly. I could see all of her rose bushes, all of the roses and their different colors. There were black and red roses. They really made Tue garden look more lively.

There was the stone bench in the garden, a doorway type thing for you to enter the garden. In the middle of the garden was a tree. It wasn't like the other trees at the Malfoy Manor. No, this tree was so much different. While the other trees were hand-shaped and looked to have no life in them, this tree was allowed to grow as wild as it wants. This tree started with a giant trunk that looked to be at least 20 feet wide. Then, the trunk got the tiniest bit slimmer before expanding into hundreds of branches with even more tiny branches attached to them. And on each branch, no matter the size, were hundreds, if not thousands of leaves. I'm going to guess that they would be green is it weren't for the winter frost covering them, making them white. Then again, the white does make the tree even more beautiful.

I never really focused on everything that was there until now. Narcissa's garden was probably the only thing at the Malfoy Manor that looked lively. Everything at the Manor was gorgeous, don't get me wrong, but it's not lively. Everything the Malfoy Manor has to offer, will most likely be black. I'm not saying that black is a bad color. It's one of my favorite colors. Along with dark green. But, this is too much black.

I was brought out of my thoughts by a knock on the door. I spin my chair around and stand up. I make my way to the door. I open it to reveal a brown eyed Malfoy witch.

"Narcissa, how can I help you?" I ask nicely. Narcissa shifts a bit before clearing her throat.

"Could I come in?" She asks. I smile and move aside. She smiles at me and walks in. I look out into the hallway to make sure no one's there before I close the door. I turn around and see Narcissa standing at the end of my bed.

"What's up?" I ask as I walk over back to my seat. I pat the seat next to me, inviting her to come sit with me. She does and when she sits, she clears her throat again.

"I wanted to come and talk with you." She says. I raise an eyebrow.

"Am I in trouble?"

"Oh, no no, nothing like that. I just missed our conversations." She smiles reassuringly. I smile again and nod my head.

"Is everything prepared for the ball tomorrow?" I ask.

"Yes. Oh, and just a heads up, Rita Skeeter is going to be there." I let out a groan, making Narcissa giggle.

"Why her?" I ask.

"Because, the ministry of magic is going to be there." I let out another groan.

"No, not the minestry!" I groan out.

"What's wrong with him now?" She asks.

"Because my brother Percy works for him so he's going to be there too." Narcissa tilts her head.

"Why is that a bad thing? Don't you like your family?" I let out a laugh, making Narcissa even more confused.

"Oh please, my family has never cared for me. They don't even acknowledge my existence anymore. Percy's one of the few who notice me but it's only so he can criticize everything about me. I never really understood why my family hates me so much. I still don't know why they do. I never did anything wrong. Fred and Bill are probably the only ones who are still even remotely nice to me. Fred never ignores me or does anything mean to me, but he doesn't voluntarily talk to me. Bill only talks to me as a last resort but when we do talk, it's actual conversations." I explain. I look over to Narcissa and see her looking at me with a sad expression.

"I-I'm so sorry, Y/N." She says, placing her hand on my arm. I smile and close my eyes and look down.

"Nah, it's not your fault. Besides, I'm used to it already." I mumble the last part. Narcissa's hand slides down my arm until it lands on my hand. She gives it a reassuring squeeze and a small smile that made my heart melt. Every smile, every laugh, every time she looked me in the eyes, it always made my heart melt.

"It may not be my fault, but, I'm still sorry. You don't deserve that. You are one of the greatest people I've ever met and if you family can't see that, well then their idiots." I couldn't help but laugh at that, making that heart melting smile come back.

"Thank you, Narcissa." I say with a warm smile. Her smile widens a bit as she nods. We both turn away and look out the window, our hands still together. I enjoy these moments. Nice, peaceful silence. These moments where it's just me and Narcissa. These moments where nothing else matters.

'I wish we could stay like this forever.'

I look back at Narcissa, while she just keeps looking out the window.

"Tes yeux sont magnifiques, Narcissa. (Your eyes are beautiful, Narcissa.)" Narcissa blushes and looks down.

"Thank you." She whispers before looking back up and turning to face me.

"I need a shower." I say, standing up. I walk over so I'm standing behind Narcissa's chair. I drag my hands up her arms until they reach her shoulders. I rest my hands there and bend down so I'm right by her left ear. I push her hair to the side, exposing her ear and neck.

"You can join me if you want." I whisper before placing a kiss where her shoulder and neck meet. I feel her tense up, but not in a bad way. I pull away and head to my bathroom door. Once I reach the door, I look back behind me to see Narcissa watching me closely. I sends her a wink and open the door. I step inside and turn around fully.

"Last chance." I say. Narcissa hesitates for a moment before standing and quickly walking over to me. I move aside to let her in. I close and lock the door before turning around and facing Narcissa.
