*Special* Chapter Fourteen

*Year Three*

Me and Draco were walking along the isle of the Hogwarts Express, trying to find a compartment. We find one with  only one person in it. The person was sleeping so we were quiet when entering it.

"Who do you think that is?" I ask Draco. He shrugs.

"Not sure." I hum before looking up at his suitcase.

Professor R.J Lupin

"Professor R.J Lupin." I read outloud. Draco looks at me with confusion so I point to the man's suitcase. He looks at the suitcase.

"Oh, okay." He says before sitting back in his seat. He grabs one of his bags and sets it beside him. I take this time to make a joke.

"That your purse, Miss Malfoy?" I ask him. He pauses his movements to send me a sarcastic smile. I couldn't help but giggle. He opens up the bag and pulls out two copies of the Daily Profit. He tosses me one and it lands on my lap. The train whistle blows one last time before it starts moving. I take this time to untie the string that held the newspaper together and open it up.

Notorious murderer, Sirius Black, has escaped from Azkaban and is now on the run. If you are to see this wizard, proceed with caution.

It says on the front page. I ignore that part and start reading. I could see, out of the corner of my eye, my brother, Harry, and a curly brown haired girl pass by our compartment. I notice them sending Draco a glare, not even taking notice of me, before continuing on with their journey.

Me and Draco continue reading our papers in silence until the train comes to an abrupt stop. Me and Draco look around in confusion, setting our papers aside.

"What's happening?" He asks me.

" I don't know. Broken down maybe?" I day with a shrug. Just then, the power goes out and the temperature drops so low that we could see our breath. I look to the bottle of water that was sitting on the mini table and see that it was slowly turning to ice. Me and Draco exchange worried glances. We look out the compartment door window to see a black mist type of thing start to appear, slowly turning into the sleeve of a cloak and a bony hand to go with it.

"Dementor." I whisper. The hand reaches the door handle and slowly opens the door. Once the door was fully opened, it looks around inside our compartment before spotting me. It slowly floats towards me, me backing away until my back is against the wall, until it's right in front of me. I couldn't go anywhere as it slowly brings it's face to mine. It raises it's hands to take off it's hood.

'It's gonna perform the kiss.'

I couldn't say anything. I just closed my eyes and waited for it to happen. I waited a few moments. Nothing. I open my eyes to see a bright white light and the dementor being forced away. That was the last thing I saw before I blacked out.

I woke up a few minutes later to someone poking me. I open my eyes to see the man who was sleeping looking at me and holding a piece of chocolate.

"Ah, you're finally awake. Here, eat this, it'll help." I sit up and realize that my head was laying on Draco's lap. I take the chocolate and take a small nibble out of it.

"Do you remember what happened?" Lupin asks me. I nod and swallow the chocolate.

"Yeah. Dementor. Was that you who casted the patronus charm?" I ask him. He chuckles and shakes his head.

"My my, you are a smart one. Yes it was me." I smile.

"Thank you, sir." He smiles and nods. I then take notice of the dark purple bags under his eyes and the scars on his face. I notice the signs and immediately know. He's a werewolf. I had found a lot of books in the attic of the burrow. Many were about different spells, potions, creatures, and different things like that. I read about the obvious signs of a werewolf. Scars, tired eyes the day after a full moon, which happened to be last night. There was another book in there. I found it in a hidden spot behind some boxes. I had the book in my suitcase right now actually. It was a training guide on how to become an Animagus. I had studied all about them over the summer, seeing as though there was nothing else to do, and had learned everything there was to know about them. It required the use of a wand the first few times you wanted to change but after you got better at that, you could do it wandless. I was still underage so I couldn't use a wand outside of school so I couldn't start trying to transform until I got to school.

"Excuse me I have to go have a talk with the driver." He says as he stands up. He walks to the doorway of the compartment but stops and turns around.

"Eat. You'll feel better." He says, pointing at the chocolate. I give him a side smile and nod. He walks off to the driver's compartment and closes the door behind him so me and Draco have our privacy once again.

"He's nice." I say. I turn to Draco to see him glaring at the door. I raise an eyebrow.

"Any reason you're glaring at the door?" I ask. I take another bite of chocolate and await his answer. He turns his gaze to me.

"No." He says, looking down in embarrassment. I chuckle and continue eating my chocolate.

*Time Skip*

I sit in my dorm room, reading the book as my roommates slept. I was sharing this room with Pansy, Veltiona, another girl in our year, and, Veltionas friend, Rose.

I was reading the step by step process of becoming and Animagus. I reread it a few times to be prepared. I take a deep breath and close the book. I slip it into my bag, with an undetectable extension charm on it, and put on my black hoodie. I had read about this secret room in the castle. The Room of Requirments. I read that it was on the seventh floor of Hogwarts. So that's where I headed. I made sure to keep quiet and not use my wand for light. I didn't want to attract any attention from the portraits or any Professors that might be lurking the halls. I knew the way around the castle like the back of my hand so I didn't need a map or anything.

I walk up the stairs if the dungeons, shivering because of the cold. I never understood why the Slytherins were stuck in the dungeons. Then I remembered our reputation. I really don't like the fact that Slytherins are hated on by almost everyone. Gryffindor always gets the favouritism. Like in my first year, Slytherin was supposed to win the house cup, and Gryffindor was in last place, but Dumbeldore being Dumbledore, decided to give Gryffindor just enough points to win. I must say, it really pissed me off. Another thing, the Gryffindors have the biggest tower. The Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws have towers but theirs are smaller then the Gryffindors. But of course, us Slytherins got stuck in the cold, dark, and musty dungeons. The dungeons are underneath the black lake, making it very dark. Although, I do enjoy having conversations with the mermaids.

I continue through the halls until I reach all the moving staircases. I climb up the first three until I reach the fourth. I wait for it to move into place. It takes a while of climbing seven flights if stairs but I eventually reach the seventh floor. The book never said which corridor it was in so I had to walk around a bit. I walk slowly through each corridor until a wall starts to make an outline of a door. I smile in victory to myself and wait for the door to fully appear. Once it does, I quietly walk in and see that the room has just what I need.

'Perfect.'

I was walking with Draco to our next class, Care for Magical Creatures. We were following Hagrid through the forest.

"Alright, open yer books to page 49." He says. Me and Draco share a glance before we speak up.

"And how do you suppose we do that exactly?" We ask in unison. We did that a lot.

"Jus' stroke the spine o' course." He says. We share another glance before doing what the large half-giant says. The books let out a content growl. Draco actually looks impressed for once. Neville try's to open his book, without stroking the spine, so the book attacks him. Draco and some other Slytherins laugh but I just send him a apologetic look as we pass by.

Once we arrive at the forest, Me, Draco, Pansy, Blaise, Crabbe, and Goyle go over to the rocks by the back of the class. I hear Hermione says something about something being funny, making Draco speak up.

"Oh yeah, terribly funny. Really witty." I couldn't help but laugh at his teasing, all the other Slytherins doing the same.

"Shut up, Malfoy." I hear Harry's voice say. I look and see him trying to look intimidating but he just looks stupid. A smirk grows on my face as I share a glance with Draco.

"Ooh." Draco, me, and our other friends say together. Draco drops his bag and walks up to Harry, biting his lip. He suddenly stops and looks up to the sky with a fake terrified look.

"D-Dementor! Dementor!" He shouts, making all the Gryffindors look up panicked. Me and the rest of our group laugh. They all turn around and glare at us. We put up our hoods and wiggle our fingers as we move our hands up and down.

"Oooooh." We say. Hermione steps forward and drags Harry away from us, sending us a look that looks like a chipmunk would make. Me and Draco high-five each other with a laugh.

Hagrid cleared his throat when he came back. He stepped aside and revealed a Hipogriff. My eyes widened a bit in surprise that he would choose such a dangerous creature for our first lesson.

"Excuse me Hagrid, but, what exactly is that thing?" I scoff and roll my eyes. I nudge Draco and motion him down closer to me. He comes closer so I whisper in his ear.

"Reason five hundred why Harry's not in Ravenclaw." I say. Draco snorts and nods in agreement. I smirk and continue watching Hagrid teach.

"Who will be wantin' to be the firs' to ride 'im?" Hagrid asks. I was about to volunteer but the whole class stepped back and left Harry standing in front of everyone. It looked like Harry stepped forward so of course Hagrid chose him. I huff and roll my eyes and shake my head.

'It's always him. It's always the "Chosen One".'

I could tell Draco wasn't to happy about this either. By the way his jaw was clenched and his eyes were narrowed into a scowl. Pansy and Blaise were to busy flirting to notice what was going on.

Hagrid lifted Harry up and onto Buckbeak, despite Harry's protests. Hagrid slaps Buckbeaks bum and he goes off running until he leaps into the air and starts flying. I got jealous. Not of Harry, but of Buckbeak. He doesn't have to worry about his family hating him for something he can't control. He doesn't have to worry about keeping up his reputation. The only thing he has to worry about is what he's gonna eat next. I got jealous because he doesn't have to worry about anything important.

'I can't believe my life has gotten so low, that I'm jealous of a bloody bird.'

I mentally scowl at myself at how dumb it is. Hagrid whistles for Buckbeak to come back. Which he does. Harry looked like he had just won the lottery. The Gryffindors clap for their fellow housemate. This ticks Draco off. He storms forward, pushing students out of the way.

"Yeah, you're not dangerous at all, are you? You filthy creature." He exclaims. I see Buckbeak rise in the air, getting ready to attack Draco. My best friend instincts kick in and I take off towards Draco. I push him out of the way, making Buckbeak miss him and attack me instead. I was able to raise my hand to block him from hitting my face but I got a deep cut on my palm. The impact makes me fall to the ground.

"Fucking hell!" I yell out once the pain sets in.

"Y/N!" Draco yells, standing up and running over to me. Hagrid was busy trying to calm the beast.

"I'm fine Draco." I say.

"No you're not! You're bleeding! You're bleeding a lot!" He wasn't lying. There was blood pouring out from my hand. Hagrid walks over to us.

"Oh my, that looks painful. C'mon, I'll take you too the hospital." He says, reaching down to carry me, but I put my hand up.

"It's alright, Hagrid. I can walk. You continue teaching." I say, standing up.

"You sure?" He asks. I smile and nod.

"Yes. I'll just have Draco come with me, if that's okay?" I ask. He nods his head once and I smile. I turn to Draco.

"Come on, snowflake." I tease. He narrows his eyes at me in a playful glare.

*Time Skip*

I had to get a cast on my wrist and hand. I had apparently sprained my wrist from the force of the beasts claw. Draco felt guilty but I kept telling him to drop it. I knew he would've done the same for me. Draco may not seem like it, but he would put himself in danger for those whom he cares for. The only good thing about it, it wasn't my dominant hand that got injured.

We were currently in Lupins class, waiting for him to show up. Me and Draco were talking about the quidditch try outs this Saturday. I was gonna try out for the seekers position. It was the only position that was open that I liked. Keeper was taken by our captain, chaser was taken by some sixth years, I didn't like the beater position, so seeker it was.

The classroom was empty except a moving cabinet in the middle of the room. Lupins arrival was unknown until he spoke up.

"Anyone have any idea what is inside?" He asks.

"That's a boggart that is." Seamus answers. Lupin chuckles. I could see a bunch of girls swooning over him. It made me want to gag. He was a very attractive man, don't get me wrong, but he was to old for me. Oh, how wrong I was back then.

"Correct, Mr. Finnigan. Now, does anyone know what a boggart looks like?" Lupin asks. I raise my hand and he calls on me, making Hermione glare at me.

"No one knows. A boggart is a creature that takes shape of what the witch or wizard fears the most. That's what makes them so-" He cuts me off.

"So terrifying. Yes." Draco leans down to my ear from where he stands behind me.

"Know-it-all." He whispers. I narrow my eyes and lean closer to his ear since he was still leaned down.

"Drama Queen." I whisper back. He hits my arm playfully, making me chuckle quietly.

"There is a simple spell that can repel a boggart. Now, without your wands please, repeat after me. Ridikkulus!" He says. The class, except Draco, repeats him.

"This class is ridiculous." Draco mumbles. I turn around and smack his arm playfully.

"Be nice." I say. He glares at me but I could see the small smile that was playing on his lips.

"Now, who's up first? Uhm, ah! Neville! Can you step forward please?" Lupin asks. Neville gulps and steps forward.

"Alright, Neville, what do you fear the most?" He asks. Neville mumbles something that no one can hear.

"Sorry, what was that?" Lupin asks.

"P-Professor Snape." He says louder, making everyone laugh. Even I laughed. I knew the real side of Snape.

"Ah yes, he terrifies all. Now, if I remember correctly, you live with your grandmother, hmm?" Lupin asks.

"Yes. But I don't want the boggart to turn into her either." Lupin chuckles.

"What I want you to do is picture her clothes. Only her clothes."

"S-She carries a red handbag-"

"You don't need to say. As long as you see it, we'll see it." He steps closer to Neville.

"Now, what I want you to do is..." He trails off and whispers the rest into Nevilles ear. Neville gulps and nods. Lupin goes over next to a music player thing and pulls out his wand.

"Ready?" He asks Neville. The boy nods and Lupin waves his wand, opening the cabinet. A few seconds after it's opening, a hand swings out and onto the unopened door, the rest of Professor Snapes body following in suit. Nevilles eyes widen as the boggart walks closer.

"Wand at the ready, Neville. Wand at the ready." Lupin reminds. Neville pulls out his wand and points it at Snape.

"R-Ridikkulus!" He yells. Not a moment later, Snapes outfit changes into an old looking dress with different random colors of laces, a red handbag, black heels, red leggings, and a goose hat. Everyone bursts out laughing, including Draco this time. Lupin chuckles.

"Everyone form a line now!" Lupin yells to us. We all form a line and somehow, I end up behind Ron and in front of another Gryffindor girl at the front of the line. Lupin places the needle of the music player onto the record and the fun music starts.

"Ron, you're up next!" Lupin says. Ron steps forward and the boggart takes form of a giant spider. Ron whimpers, making me try to hide my laugh. I knew why that was his boggart. It was from when the twins turned his teddy bear into a spider.

He pulls out his wand and casts the spell. Rollerblades appear on the spiders legs and it struggles to stay upright. My nerves were growing for what my boggart would be. I had no idea what it would be. I didn't really fear much. I figured it would turn into some sort of bug or something.

Oh how I was wrong.

Ron steps back with a victorious smirk on his face. I take a deep breath and step forward. The boggart swirls for a moment before it takes it's shape. And when it does, my heart drops.
