Caught In Chaos

A male crew assists Akira to carry his luggage to his cabin number. It is a single sized cabin with a sofa bed and a small rectangular table attached to the wall. After securing his luggage in the luggage compartment the male crew left after handing him his cabin key.

Akira sat on the sofa bed while staring outside the window. Looking at the passing sceneries. His gaze particularly locked at the very familiar mountains that slowly become smaller and smaller.

When he could no longer see the mountains, he opened his backpack and took the ordinary looking old book which was personally written by his grandfather about the herbs he had encountered all through his years. This was his way of passing time since its 12 hours ride to Small Island City.

The train slowly stopped as some passengers unboarded and boarded the train. This is the third station the train has stopped. Looking at his black leather watch, it's 11:30 AM. Taking his lunch from the small bag,which was personally cooked by grandpa Hamada, Akira started eating his lunch which all obviously tasted good. A funny thought even cross his mind.

'Better be a cook than a lawyer...'

A feeling from his bladder woke him from his nap. Akira looked at the time on his watch. 3:26 PM.

Akira slowly stood up. He opened the door and stepped out of his cabin. He went to the toilet area.

After relieving himself, Akira thought he heard some noises outside. He stopped at the door and put his ear on it. The noise is very audible this time. A grunt sound of a man followed by a dull sound was heard. Akira suddenly held his breath. Then he heard one of the doors of the toilets being opened. After a while it was opened and closed again followed by the sound of haste steps that became further and further away. After waiting for a while longer, Akira slowly opened the toilet door and peered outside.

He looked to the direction where the sound of the steps had gone. After looking through the small window glass on the hallway door Akira's eyes locked to the toilet doors across from him. Akira checked the other doors first. Making sure there is no other person around. He saw the second door from the right corner was locked. He suddenly feel nervous. He tentatively knocked on the door but no reply from the inside.

"H-hello?" He called weakly.

"------------------"

Akira knocked on the door again but still no one has answered. Akira took a keychain from his left pocket and used the extra hanging pin from it. After some turning a soundclick was heard. Akira slowly opened the door. He first saw a pair of slightly worn out black leather shoes. Then faded black jeans and a gray jacket. Akira called but the man kept being silent. The man was sitting on the toilet unmoving looking like he was asleep. A bit nervous, Akira reached out to give the man a pulse.

'He's dead!'

Akira felt his heart skip a beat. He hurriedly stood up and closed the toilet door again as he went out. After making sure that there is no other soul aside from him, Akira opened the second toilet door from the left and looked inside. He had a gut feeling that there was something inside from that person earlier. With a mixed feelings of nervousness, excitement and a bit scared. Akira gave in to his curiosity.

He first checked on the trash can. There are six pieces of crumpled toilet paper inside. He got some clean toilet paper and used it to cover his hands and checked on those crumpled toilet paper. After seeing nothing, he checked the lid and its bottom. He still did not find something. He then proceed checking the toilet flashed. After turning over everything he still can not find something particular. He finally looked unto the roll of  toilet paper. Detaching it, he looked inside the roll. He found something small that stuck in the middle. After taking it out, he found that it was a usb drive! He returned the toilet paper to its holder but he put the drive inside his right packet.

He hurriedly return to his cabin opposite to the direction where the sound of the steps went earlier. But just as he walked to the hallway, the door on the other end of the hallway was forcibly opened and a group of armed men in black suits stepped in. Some other passengers who just stepped out of their cabin panicky returned again while those who were unlucky enough to bumped directly with those armed men were directly thrown out of the way. Akira, who was already near to his cabin fastly opened the door and hurriedly locked it after getting inside. Then he listened carefully to the noise outside.
