NATALIA

Toby and Harry are bewildered upon the two crazy things that they witnessed. A man in the middle of a horde undisturbed, none of them are even attacking or noticing him. Next is a runner climbing then attack jumping at them. The two of them quickly got back to their senses as they see another one climbing at them, Harry carried Natalia on his back, Toby slowly hopped down and they started running. They see some runners climbing and on top of the roof. They got to a end of the alleyway and Toby closed the steel fence gate, and sees something that terrifies them down to their bone.

"Oh my fucking god its climbing'

"Toby come on"

They started to run, Toby enduring the pain on his thigh as he limply ran behind them. Natalia looked behind her and none, the dead has stopped chasing after them, the brothers were to terrified to turn around. Their fear feeding their imagination as they continued to run. After over 40 minutes they stopped by a house by Mt. Pleasant road.

"Of course... ruined"

Toby has started to weaken. He put down Natalia and carried Toby to a sofa on the houses porch. His wounds starts to feel tender and warm, a few minutes later he starts to feel sick. Natalia did anything she could so she hold her hand, her hands are small compared to his. Another kid like Zachary and Sam falling victim to the effects of the virus.

Harry got back to them and in shock upon seeing the swelling of Toby's wound, he acted fast to try to slow down the fever. Since there are no cars in sight, Harry looked into the shed to find something, Natalia stayed with Toby. Harry found something amongst the things in the shed.

"Here"

'What is that?' Natalia asked.

"A four wheeled cart"

Harry approached his brother.

"okay okay...endure okay?"

"Okay"

He carried Toby to the cart and put his leg up, he screamed in pain. Natalia hopped on to make sure that his legs won't move around as it will hurt him. Harry started to pulled the two of them.

Kayla looks over the hill with her binoculars waiting for something to come up, he started to do it for over 5 hours. This time something came and she alerted everyone. Bryce and Lee got on the middle of the road, after a minute or two she started to say 'Harry'.

"What?"

"Its them...Bryce go down"

Bryce started to run down and he sees Harry drenched in sweat and a little girl helping him pull, Dylan came and also helped. Niall came with some help from Woodville, and they gather together. Some nurses from Washington also arrived and treated Troy, Tobias, and Harry were brought to the infirmary back at Washington. Toby's fever has gotten high and so they drove back fast. Niall and Bryce have a little heart to heart conversation.

"Hey"

"Sorry about...Punching you earlier"

"Its fine... I deserve it... Toby is now sick and Harry is on the brink of collapse"

"St-"

"Shut up.. that's what I'm saying"

The two laughed at each other. the party started to go back to their home after the crazy day. Back at Elkton someone sends a message.

"So.. did they find the girl?"

"Yeah, they took her with them"

"Washington right?"

"Yeah, and they are also taking over Woodville"

"Good, come back to HQ and we'll start the plan.. we need that girl"

Tobias wakes up with two faces looking down at him, the powerful light is beaming at him. His eyes finally adapted to the eye and finally see the two faces that is looming over him. Zach and Samantha. The kids smiled upon seeing him, he is in the same place as he was back in Denton. On a bed with a needle stuck into him, he looked at the blood bag.

"Hi"

"Dylan"

"Okay....you kids go play outside"

"Yes!"

Dylan and Natalia appeared before, he cannot move his body properly because of how sore his body is. He looked over to Natalia to see a cotton taped on her antecubital fossa, he asked her what her blood type is but she only shrugged her shoulders.

"Don't worry....maybe she is AB+ like you"

"She's a kid"

"She's 17"

"She looks younger"

"Don't mind the age she save you.. her height is inherited so"

"Good... thank you"

She only nodded and run out to play with the other kids. Dylan and Toby have a little pep to make sure he is alright.

"She didn't have time to mature"

"Really?"

"Yeah, apparently she was raised in some med facility... being used as a test subject"

"Raised?"

"Yeah, apparently there were other kids with her.. being used as subjects for a cure.. she has cancer... had rather.. then she underwent a treatment and it cured her"

"Surgically?"

"No... through some other antiviral means... but some people are after her"

"How did she end up here, when the virus started in the middle east?"

"It was a good testing ground apparently...she never told me anymore about that place"

"So, the virus is it a failure.. a uh.. a prototype of the cure?"

"She didn't say in her blood was the cure for the virus... maybe only for cancer.. if we want to find a way to help the living.. the C.D.C is a good place to start"

Toby asked about the virus and how it was created and so Dylan explained.

Originally it was something as a cure for cancer but something went horribly wrong. Someone accidentally put a weaker version of the antivirus to someone who is infected with a rabies, the antivirus instead of curing it became its catalyst and it mutated quickly. The saliva of the infected becomes the carrier, early on when someone is infected it will take until 5 months until the symptoms starts to show up. Unless their immune system has already been damaged, the virus started to mutate. The W.H.O started to see symptoms of the disease associated with Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease (CJD), mainly due to the fact that someone who has the CJD does not have proper coordination when it progresses further.

The rabies side of the virus started to mutate quickly and the effects shown on small animals have became powerful enough to do the same thing to bigger animals such as humans. With the addition of the nervous system being weaken, the virus quickly takes the host completely. Someone who is brain dead can be infected by the virus.

Toby sat breathless upon hearing Dylan's explanation.

"So she is the cure?"

"No, I have no idea... but CDC will help"

"What if its gone... its not as long as there are people working there to find a cure...it will not stop"

"No"

"No?"

"The cure...fuck it"

"We need it to save"

"No Doc.. we are not heroes... we're survivors... we cannot save anyone... we who are the living are heavily outnumbered by the dead"

"Russia has fallen... if Russia cannot handle these virus... what makes you think that we can do it"

"....."

"If there are people after her... they'll turn her into a lab rat"

"I understand.. I'm sorry"

"It is okay... we cannot do anything anymore"

"I'll leave ya"

"Okay"

Natalia came in and talked to Toby.

"My plasma is not the cure"

"....."

"I was just used to be tested on"

"Really?"

"Yes... there is no cure in me"

"....."

"But the people after me thinks I have it"

"Were you bitten?"

"No.. I was afraid"

"You don't have to... I'm here"

Natalia started to cry, knowing that someone is going to help her. A girl with nothing special. The only thing she knows is how the virus mutated over the period of 6 months. Nothing more, nothing less. Just a girl who wants to survives.
