"Hello, old lady! What are you selling?" Robin asked with an amused expression as he saw through the old lady.
In the guise of an old lady was the strongest wizard in the clover kingdom, looking around as he observed everyone.
'Luckily my senses and eyes allow me to see through most illusions, I haven't met any that could prove otherwise.' Robin thought as he concentrated on the old lady with a hunched back and a black scarf over her head.
If anyone looked at her, they would get the idea that she was someone with a foot in the grave, she gave me a look before she, or the man behind her smirked with a glint in his eyes as he threw a weird stone my way.
I looked it over a few times, and the conclusion I came to was that this thing was
"Old lady, this is just an ordinary stone," I answered in confusion, not expecting this cliche to be so wrong, isn't this guy supposed to give me some kind of powerful equipment or something.
"This heirloom passed down in my family for generations, how can it be a mere stone! how about you give it a few squeezes to see," she replied.
At this moment, I already knew that this was a trap but I still wanted to see what this was all about.
Looking at the wizard king who had a grin on his face, I couldn't help but give the stone a gentle squeeze and see if maybe I was really wrong and this was something unique.
By this time even Vanessa and charm were done as they came over to my side and looked at the magic items placed on the table with a frown.
"These are all duds!" she said.
*Crack*
"Ah! You broke my family heirloom, the price of our family, uhuhu..."
"Hah! This is clearly just a plain old some you old hag!" Vanessa saw the stone in my hands and retorted.
A crowd formed soon enough and I knew where this was going,
"Let's get out of here," I calmed her down.
Though how could this shrewd bastard let us go so easily.
I practically saw his eyes shine through the illusion as he quickly stood in front of us, the illusion of the old lady crying was enough to sway the crowd in her favour.
"Tsk! We didn't do anything, it was just some normal stone," Vanessa yelled.
Charm was busy eating a boar leg she got from god knows where.
The black market merchants weren't blind to what was going on, but that didn't mean they would come forward and help, rather it was better for them to go fishing in the troubled water.
Seeing the aggressive people rounding up on them, Robin couldn't help but give a stink eye to the supposed Wizard King before he grabbed both his colleagues, disappearing for good.
What no one noticed was the old granny disappearing as well
'Interesting.' were the final words spoken by the Wizard king Julius Novachrono of the clover kingdom.
.....
"That was so intense," Charmy admitted as she continued eating her food, though her expressions betrayed her.
"..."
"...."
"I am going back for a nap," Robin replied as he sighed, the incident in the market sapped his mental strength due to its ridiculous nature.
Flopping down on his bed, Robin drifted off to sleep, since he decided to not train like a maniac so it would be nice to sleep like a normal person once in a while.
......
Wizard king:
A human with no magic power...but that power inside him, it seems almost identical to magic yet so foreign...it feels like a raging tide coaching against the sands of a beach.
"I wonder how far he can reach with that power, from the report Yami gave me, he has the ability to teleport, the ability to use those purple colored arcs of energy that can inflict harmful effects like some debuff or curse magic plus that ability to suppress those weaker than him and that fire ability of his, hmmm."
Unknowing the Wizard King entered in his usual self of being an obsessed magic scientist as he started coming up with various reasons for why this was possible.
