The author here just wanted to let you know that even though Cain may seem overpowered he is only at the vice-captain level right now, which is incredible in its own right but think about the major players in this story and how far he has to reach to be truly strong.

also, most of the swords he has been sealed, or he can not figure out how to properly use them

<Cain pov>

''your magic is so different that the normal elemental magi, even normal non elemental! what is it? what are the limitations of it? how many swords can you make? what are those physical swords that can out? what ....'' the annoying bond was saying. I don't understand why someone would be so impressed with that. anyone with decent magic control could make something like that happen.

''also your friend can she control all plants and trees in the area. it is very similar to one of my friend's magic. did she just make houses from her magic? what else can she do with her magic, speaking of magic what is it.'' he says while looking existed at Cain expecting an answer to his questions.

''ok look bud, can I call you bud, don't answer that, listen to bud I don't know who you are and you are jumping at me while asking for answers,'' I said trying to get some space from me and me. tires at this point has caught up with us and was standing next to me.

'' ah yes, my name is Julius Novachrono; moreover, I apologize for my questions out of the blue,'' he says gaining his stature back from that thing he did just now. In the corner of my eye, Tess straightened up after he said his name. he must be a big shot in the kingdom or some high-ranking noble, after all, that last name sounded familiar.

''Firstly I must praise you because not everyone that roams around the kingdom helping villages when they are in need or low on funds to get the magic knights involved,'' he said with a smile full of gratitude towards us.

''Well, the magic knights won't help if there inst a reward involved with it because the villages are in the commoners' realm,'' Cain said with a scowl. tess then shoots him a look that screams 'Shut the fuck up you stupid idiot', which Cain didn't understand why she is doing that.

''Haha, yes that is truly a characteristic that they have'' Julius says while scratching his head. he seemed kind of amused about something but also guilty about the magic knights. he probably got something to do with the magic knights

'' but on another point, I saw what you guys did for this village and expected nothing for a reward. ill be shot. please join the magic knights.'' he said with a bright smile.

'is this guy an idiot? I was just bad-mouthing about them in front of him and then asking him to join' Cain thinks while looking at him with a deadpan look. Tess is looking at this with a somewhat sadistic look as if she is assured by this situation. ' I think I have been a bad influence on her.' Cain thought

''I bet you are thinking that I am an idiot for asking you to join when you were bad-mouthing them. am I right,'' he said with an all-knowing smile. julius then looks at Tess and stays quiet as if he understands that look in her eyes that was directed at me.

''yes, that's exactly what I am thinking right now. Plus Tess stop looking at me like that! cain exclaimed about the situation. which seemed to bring Tess laughing uncontrollably and Julius starts to chuckle at Cain.

''yes, the reason why I am saying to join them is you can do exactly what you have been doing for all those years of roaming the kingdom and helping people but you can get paid'' he said. this then froze me and Tess because he said years not years.

'' how do you know about me and Tess'' I said with a treating aura surrounding me while I exert my magical power on him. tess then seems to get worried about a fight that is about to happen, but he then starts to laugh. and then apologizes about the scare that he put on both of them.

'' sorry about that it's just in my profession that I heard about to powerful children roaming the kingdom. some of the magic knights are out looking for you, to get you guys to join them,'' he says trying to calm me down.

while it would make sense for people to hear about us from the villagers we saved. plus there could be the fact that they told the magic knight about us and our grimoires. except there was one thing that caught me off guard.

'' fair enough. we did fight a lot of people and things, which should have some heads turn toward us. except you said one thing that made me question something'' Cain said. ''oh what's that'' Julius said knowing what was going to follow.

''What is the occupation that you said you had as a job,'' I said trying to figure out who is this man.

'' very well, my name is Julius Novachrono the current wizard king'' he said while smiling at me. my brain then stopped working trying to dissolve what he just said. Tess sees my reaction and starts dying of laughter. julius starts to laugh at me as well.

''Is he always like this'' Julius says to Tess. who was trying to recover her image in front of the wizard king?

''yes he is a complete idiot, but he does have his moments'' Tess says looking lovingly at Cain who was still trying to realize he just shit-talking the magic knight in front of the highest-ranking one.

'' well shit I just talked bad about your employees in front of you'' Cain said coming back to the conversation. tess then lightly chuckles at his predicament while Julius looks like he is seeing something by looking at Cain.

''it is ok. I know how much of the magic knights look down on people with less magic than them, but my dream is that we can bring together both royals and commoners and show them that even with less magic people can use their magic in a way to match royals. I mean look at you two both of you are commoners, but you are at the level of vice-captains.'' he says trying to get them on board with him.

''he is saying some decent points but what squad would even treat us fairly, and not discriminate us by our heritage'' I say, while making him believe that Tess is a human being, not the elf that she is.

julius then thinks about the question and then thinks of the perfect squad for them. '' if that is the case then I would join the black bulls lead by yami sukehiro. if you want to meet him and see what he is like, he currently is in a village on the west side of the kingdom near the border of the Daimond kingdom. if you do go you might need to help him fight. that should be too much of a problem right?'' he says.

so there was a squad that didn't segregate against commoners. huh, you hear something new every day. I then looked over at Tess who was thinking what Julius said and nodded to herself and looked at me. we had a silent conversation just from the looks in our eyes.

''alright we will go visit this yami and see what he likes and it's not for the fight ok,'' I say, but on the inside I was giddy. the reason because of if a captain need might need help then that means I can fight someone strong. I and Tess then hop on one of my phantom swords to fly in that direction

" fine. Tell him I send you to him, ok! " Julius yells and I will remember that, but got to get to that fight.

<Julius pov>

What interesting kids I found. When I first heard about two 9 years old both with four-leaf grimoires, it took everything for me not to go looking for them and ask about their magic. The boy, Cain, reminds me of a calmer Yami, but his magic is something I have never seen before. It is eerily similar to that legendary elf king's magic. Sword magic I think it was. Yes, it has to be that. If he has that magic the kingdom will have a new powerful knight on its way.

The girl on the other hand confuses me. The reason is because of how pure her magic is. Heck, I think she said her magic was nature magic. From what I heard from her she can only control agricultural life around her. That is still incredibly powerful especially if she gets a mana zone. however the weirdest thing about her is that starngfe necklace that she has that is doing something to her ears. it probable is doing somethingthatv increases her hearing, so nothing to worry about.

I think the black bulls will be a perfect fit for them.

Julius then teleports back to the kingdom and gets attacked by Max about doing his responsibilities.
