Chapter 10

I started walking without direction, trying to get lost in the city while shaking off the terrifying thoughts that didn't want to leave my head.

I raised my head when I noticed I ended up in a dead end. The place was filthy and dirty, with some trash cubes that held leftovers, probably from a chinese restaurant. I took a deep breathe and wondered, what now?

Before I could even think of an answer or a place to go, a feeling crossed my heart, It was like an arrow had crossed it and teared it apart. And it hurted. It felt like hell was exploding inside of me. I bite my lips, trying to hold in the scream that wanted to let go the pain freely inside my chest when a hand rested on my shoulder.

I tried to shake it off, but the result was pathetic, as the pain started to make my vision blurry and I tasted blood inside my mouth.

"Little lamb?" I recognised the voice that was calling out the nickname he had given to me. "What's going on?"

If the chest pain wasn't enough, my throat started to burn, Victor's marks to be precise. I put my hands around my neck as the man tried to help me, pulling my hair and the scarf out of the way.

"What the fuck..." He mumbled as he started at my neck and then he looked at me as he had no clue of what was going on. "We need to get you to a hospital." He said with a quiet but firm voice.

Between the mess bawl that my head was, I tried to gain his attention, so I raised my hand and grabbed his black coat while he was turning around speaking with someone.

"No..." I tried to say with a rusty voice that held the pain as my mouth tasted like blood and tears. "No hospital." I finally said as a new wave attacked my heart and he grabbed me before I fell to the ground with my hands on my chest.

This time I couldn't hold in the bawl and I cried out aloud that burning feeling. I tried to hold still as he took me in his arms with all the care he could.

"Dont' worry," He whispered to my ears. "I'll take you somewhere safe."

I didn't know why but, before I blacked out, I trusted him with all my heart.

"Shhh, " Said a voice I couldn't recognise. "She's waking up."

I opened my eyes slowly, as they got used to the bright light that was hanging in front of me. My body felt comfortable, I was in some kind of bed, a fluffy and warm bed that made me wanna stay there forever.

"C'mon sleepyhead" Instisted the voice I didn't know. "Get up."

I ignored the order, turned around and tried to get some deserved and craved peaceful sleep. I didn't know why, but It felt like Victor couldn't get to me in here. It felt like the safest bed ever. Until a voice I did know whispered in my ear.

"If don't get up, I might eat you up, little lamb" Then I woke up faster than lightning MCQUEEN with my eyes still closed, and a sore feeling in throat.

"Water..." I murmured reaching out my hands while finally opening my eyes to find three people in what seemed to be a bedroom.

Sat on the right of the king sized bed with white sheets was detective James, James Wong, with his same coat and menacing emerald eyes. On my left was a man with dark brown hair and black eyes hidden behind some round thin metal glasses that was checking the intravenously needle stuck in my arm very carefully, making sure that I didn't get hurt when I suddenly got up.

Then, at the corner of the room was Sean. And that was confusing, Sean was a wolf, but the other two guys weren't. Wasn't there some territory shit rules or something against crossing other pack's territory? Hold up, that wasn't my problem, but I needed to know what the heck had happened to me.

Sean got up, went out of the room with a gloomy face and came back with a glass full of yummy yummy water that I drank without taking a breath.

"Thanks..." I said giving it back. Then I turned to the brunette boy that looked like a doctor, with that stethoscope hanging around his neck. "Who are you?" I asked with curious eyes.

" Kyle," He said with a warm smile. "you?"

"Skye" I said looking around the room once more, trying to gather enough courage to ask. "What happened?"

Then they shared serious glances and fixed their gazes on me.

"What?" I asked, putting my knees on my chest and hugging them.

"You passed out." Explained Kyle patiently, I tilted my head.

"I know that," I said rolling my eyes as if it was an obvious fact. "I mean before that. "

Kyle cleared his throat, looked at both Alphas, and then looked back at me with some pity. It felt as if I was talking to my mom before my father died. Before she changed.

"We were hoping you could tell us." He took my hand, trying to comfort me as confusion took over me. I shook him off, clearly uncomfortable. I hated not knowing was going on, I hated not having control of my own life.

"Little lamb," Said the imposing man with lovely hair, If I asked, would he let me touch that black silk hair? "Do you really not know what happened to you?"

He looked deeply to my eyes, I blushed completely, I mean, It was hard to concentrate or feel self compassion when three handsome man were staring at you with such intensity. So instead of answering I just nodded my head. No clue.

Sean sighed and walked out of the room again to return with a little mirror. Then he kicked Kyle out of the bed and put the mirror in front of me.

"Who did this?" I tried to hold back the tears as the marks of Victor's fingerprints were clearly and more visible than ever in my neck. As if they were freshly made. "I know you know, so just tell us and we will protect you."

I shoke my head.

"No," They seemed surprised, It hurted when he told me that he could protect me. Why would he do that? No, he was just playing around, just like Mason. I couldn't trust them. And I had a deeper reason to it. "You can't." I declared while I took the needle off my arm and looked for my shoes as the three man watched me.

"What?" Shouted the man when he snapped out of it.

"You can't protect me." I repeated with a calm and firm voice. All this things happening lately, and now this. All this absurdity. I was tired, and enough was enough.

"Little lamb," Said James with a more reasoning tune. "Let us try."

Again, I turned him down, I was going to face this on my own. There was no need for third parties involved. I could do this on my own.

"Thanks for everything" I said looking to Kyle while tapping the floor with the tip of my shoes to make them fit in. "Bye"

I left the house with a sour feeling, but I did what was right. And I knew what I had to do.

My phone started ringing.

My past was calling.

And I had to answer.

What I didn't know? I wasn't going alone.
