Poisoned

The doctor looked at them intensely, as if he had something else to say.

"What is it, doctor?" Jake asked amidst shock of the news.

"We are not certain yet, but we will confirm once we have the lab results," the doctor speculated, causing Jake to feel even more tense.

"What's happening doctor?" Jake asked, his heart feeling heavy.

"I noticed your father showing signs of poisoning on his finger nails turning color, which might be the cause of the blood pressure rise hence the heart attack, which again we are yet to confirm," the doctor explained.

Jake felt as if someone had knocked the air out of his lungs. They were not that close with his father, but the fact that someone was trying to kill him unsettled him.

Jake rushed to the mansion upon hearing his grandmother's return.

"Grandma, where have you been?" He bent over to her, kissing her cheek.
