Selene closed her eyes saying a silent prayer as she tried to massage her temples to calm herself down. Foster had called to inform her that they had found Jake.

She paced at the entrance, her mind running wild with imaginations on how to approach Jake after what he had been through and how she gave him a cold shoulder.

The thing that surprised her most is that she wasn't angry anymore after learning the truth, she in fact felt at peace knowing more about her husband. The fact about Asher's arrest and conviction made her feel a bit at peace.

The decorations around the house made it look merry, but Selene could only feel that way after seeing Jake back safe and sound.

"Mommy, today is our birthday. Why are you sad?" Breanna asked checking her mother out.

"Ooh sweetheart I'm not sad, in fact I'm happy for you two my darlings that's why I have a special present for you," Selene answered, not sure if that would elevate her daughter's mood.
