Melissa's pov

" What's going on between you and Bobby" my eyes widened in shock, for a few seconds, I thought I was sitting in a confined place because I find it hard to breathe well. I find myself holding my breath for what seemed like a long time before choking out when I can no longer bear it. How did she know? Did she meet his Dad again? What can make her ask this all of a sudden, this has nothing to do with our conversation, so what's going on.

" Will you start talking already!" This time, her voice was very loud, she looked so frustrated, damn it! This is nightmare have been praying not to happen, even if I lied, I don't think this woman will buy anything I push towards her, I'm sure she knew everything already, maybe she was only trying to confirm it from me. 

I shuddered, lips trembling as I stared into her dark eyes. This woman  doesn't deserves all this, you are such an asshole Melissa, just tell her everything, I thought silently. But what if she is only testing you, what if she has no idea, just wanted to make you split out your secret? Another voice muttered in my head, I shook my head slowly with the hope of getting these stupids thought out of my head, I can't do....

" I guess you still need some time to cook up lies, this is not you Melissa, I can't believe you kept.... She was about to get up from the bed, I'm just a little faster to catch her hand, holding onto it firmly, she tried jerking off my hand, but I still made sure I never let go.

" Mom, just sit, I promise to explain everything.." I pleaded, I feel so embarrassed, this is not me, Melissa will not do something to hurt her family, maybe that Melissa faded away the day I got involved with Bobby, but is it my fault?

After throwing me a long warning glance, she took her seat again,just a little far from my side.I guess she wanted to get a clear sight of my face.

I cleared my throat, even though there was no lump down there. I moved my hands away from her wrist.

" Mom," my voice was serene, am yet to know what to say, but I'm very sure that something will popped up immediately I opened my mouth, whether truth or lie.  " Nothing is going on between us........" her face creased instantly, not minding her killer gaze, I continued... 

" All this is because of his cousin, we are just friends back then all because of him" I made sure my voice was a bit louder when saying the two words " Back Then"..

" His cousin?" she looked confused, I felt a twinge of guilt down my stomach, though this is all lies, but I'm happy she was a bit more relaxed than before. Is she buying it? Definitely, she has no idea of the whole story...

I jolted, "Draven, that blonde hair guy,that's his cousin," I pointed out, while studying her reaction to this.

She give me a fleeting look before talking, " That Melanie's friend that usually comes to visit you?"

" Yes," I confirmed. 

" Ohhhhh" that's the only thing she could manage to say, I think I just got her.

" Still, I don't know anything about this, you know how wicked that boy was, don't tell me you forgot all what.....

" Mom! That's in the past, I have nothing to do with him again,"

" He came to ask of you yesterday, care to explain why?" I was dumbfounded by her statement, ask of me?/Why? When?

"I never set my......eyes on him since..h..e...left this place" I tried to maintain that straight tone, but I guess my voice decided to fail me.

" Are you saying you didn't see him yesterday?" She probed in surprise, and I nodded. 

How is that possible, I'm very sure he will not be stupid to approach my mom and asked for me.... I'm still in my trance state when what she was talking about hit me, I nearly forgot that Rachel told me Bobby came to ask for me when I am still in the quarters, But does that mean he asked o...... ohhh no way....

" I was with the head maid when he called her to ask for you," her sudden words cut off my thoughts, all my tensed muscles relaxed instantly as her words collapsed into my ear. So, this is it, she was only with the head maid when she called,nothing more. I sighed, this is very funny, why is she making a fuse out of this when she don't even have the full details, gosh! I nearly lost it all because of this, what if I actually told her the truth..... God! I don't even know what to say about what might have happened at this spot...

" You should have said that earlier," I tried to sound offended.

" really? what if you are hiding something from me, moreover, why is he looking for you?" 

" I have no idea" 

"Okay, I believe that" 

I grinned silently, I was sidetracked, I was just lucky not to fall for this. I sniffed.  

I'm still trying to get myself together when her voice came again.

" Good that you cleared out my doubts, I thought you changed your motion because you have something to do with him"

I smiled at her," Mom, don't you trust me, I would have jump at the opportunity at the first time even when I know this is wrong"

She exhaled, " I asked the head maid for advice" 

" What did she say?" I asked eagerly.

" She said it's better to accept the offer, then resent them later, remember the deed can no longer be reversed, and he only did this for us" her voice trembled as she muttered the last words,I moved closer to her, moving my hand toward her back and patting her slowly.

" Don't cry.." I grumbled, I looked up, trying to send back the tears that had started to form in my eyes.  Yes, we need to resent them later, but for now, I'm ready to be his PA for my family sake, without minding the consequences that await me...
