Carl did not appreciate the words that his mother always used and that was the reason why he hardly told her anything about his love for Bethany. His mother had thought that spending so many years out of the country was going to make him forget about her but she was wronged as he was still having feelings for that wretched girl.
Carl had dated so many ladies abroad and some were arranged by his mom, yet he still hoped to see Bethany someday and to be able to ask her on a date for her to accept and give him a chance as a lover and not only as a friend.
Wishing for her son's words to be just mere words, she stood up and asked him to go get a shower and she was going to ask the maid to make some soup for him and bring it to his room so that he could feel better later.
