Regeneration

At the present moment, inside the temple of hanging gardens of Babylon, in an empty dimly lit room Appu Illapu was treating Zan.

Wrapped in unusual plants from toe to head, he laid in the ground while Appu Illapu sat beside him, grinding herbs making a paste.

Appu Illapu's action confused Fey. Her lack of knowledge about the herbs made her to question about Appu Illapu's treatment methods.

"Uhh.. Excuse me. I didn't mean to interrupt you while you are tending to my friend's wounds but what kind of herbs are you actually grinding? And why is he wrapped in those weird looking plants?"

Puzzled by his treatment methods she stammered while questioning him.

Appu Illapu ignored her questions and carried on with his task. He was hyper focused on properly grinding the medicinal herbs so as not to lose it's medicinal properties.

The special herbs which Appu Illapu was grinding was only found inside the temple of the hanging gardens of the babylon. Blessed by sun god Inti, it could only be grown inside the temple.

Fey continued to stare at him with great anticipation. The flickering light of the candle in the corner of the room started to wane away. Yet she couldn't get any answers out of him.

Her eyes twitched as she started to get agitated by his actions.

'Just how much is it difficult to answer some questions? Acting all great and mighty. Fine I won't ask anymore'

She murmured, agitated by his attitude towards her.

She then diverted her attention towards Herman who was admiring the beauty of the temple of hanging garden of babylon. Herman was deeply engrossed in the ancient runic scriptures embedded in the walls.

Curious of his actions she slowly approached him. While tapping his shoulder she spoke;

"Herman? What are you doing?"

Her sudden appearance startled him. Startled by her sudden appearance he staggered.

"Ahhhh... oh! it's you Fey. You scared the shit out of me so please don't sneak on me like that."

He exclaimed while trying to regain his composure.

"Oh! Sorry about that. I didn't mean to scare you."

She apologized to him for suddenly approaching him while he was in the middle of something.

"That stingy old man who looks like a priest wasn't answering to my questions. So I decided to ignore him as well and when I looked around, I found you looking at the walls, astonished. It got me curious and I had to suddenly interrupt you. So Sorry about that."

After apologizing to him, she exclaimed him about her curiosity. Curious of his actions she couldn't held back herself. Thus she approached him out of nowhere.

Herman then explained her about the actions of Appu Illapu and why he wasn't answering to her questions.

"Actually he was not ignoring you. He simply couldn't divert his attention elsewhere while grinding the herbs. I'm a herbalist as well and I know how detrimental it would be to lose focus in the middle of preparing herbs. Thus he simply couldn't afford to answer your question while he was grinding the herbs."

He explained, while consoling her.

She found solace in Herman's words as she heard him.

Upon looking at her calm face, Herman requested her to follow him. Fey nonchalantly agreed to his request and followed him.

While looking at the walls, Herman called out for Fey, pointing his fingers at the scripture carved in the walls. Fey rolled her eyes towards the scripture pointed by Herman and intently stared at the carved scripture.

In the scripture several figures which resembled humans were raising their hands up. Another figure which looked like a god was carved in the scripture. The whole scripture looked like humans praying to god begging for something.

Fey couldn't completely understand the meaning behind the scriptures and was puzzled by it. While she was trying to comprehend the meaning behind the scripture, Herman spoke;

"You see those four stick figures which looks like humans? And the figure above their heads standing atop the cloud like structure?"

Herman questioned.

Fey nodded her head in agreement.

"The person standing atop the clouds is the son God Inti and the four stick figures raising their hands up are the babylonian peoples. The scripture resembles the babylonian people begging for mercy from the sun god Inti."

In a deep serious tone Herman tried to explain Fey about the meaning behind the scriptures.

There were several runic scriptures carved in the walls of the temple. But before they could even explore all of the runic scriptures, a dominating voice reverberated.

"Don't go inside the main temple? That's only for the chosen ones. Except the chosen ones no one shall enter the main temple. The consequences will be huge if you try to violate the rule."

The dominating voice was of Appu Illapu who just recently completed grinding the herbs.

The sudden voice of Appu Illapu startled them both and they staggered. They were just about to enter the main temple and had it been even a second late they would have entered the main temple.

Warnings of Appu Illapu horrified them and they trembled in fear. They glanced at each others sweaty face and rejoiced, while narrowly escaping the imminent danger. They couldn't fathom the consequences mentioned by Appu Illapu.

After that they backed down and returned to the room where Zan was being treated.

There in the room Appu Illapu was applying the freshly grinded paste of the medicinal herbs in Zan's body.

"Have you two went any further than that then you might have been already dead or cursed for your life. Be aware of your surroundings. Don't roam around anywhere without consulting me."

He nonchalantly warned them while applying the paste, without even looking at them.

Both Herman and Fey stood behind them nodding their heads. None of them dared to speak any words after listening to Appu Illapu and remained completely silent.

After some moments Appu Illapu finally finished applying the paste of medicinal herbs in Zan's body. He then put the bowl in the floor and turned back.

"I'm sure that you've got a lot questions to ask. So why don't you do so?"

He spoke in his husky voice while staring at them.

His penetrating stare felt like he could clearly see through them and was directly staring at their souls. Astonished and scared at the same time they felt a shiver run down their spines when they looked him in the eyes.

"Uhh... uhh.. what's that paste that you're applying over Zan's body?"

Fey stammered while questioning Appu Illapu.

"Oh this? This is the special herb that only grows inside the temple of hanging gardens of Babylon. You won't find it anywhere beside here."

Appu Illapu nonchalantly replied to Fey.

Even after listening to Appu Illapu she couldn't figure out anything. Baffled by his words she stood frozen in her place while looking at him with a perplexing look.

Appu Illapu understood the reason behind her perplexing look. He released a deep sigh and started to brief about the medicinal herbs.

The medicinal herb was referred to as Yarsa. It was type of medicinal herb which grew only inside the temple. The unique atmosphere of the temple provided a suitable environment for it to grow. The cold and muddy grounds beneath and warm blessings of the sun god in the surface provided it with an unusual environment of both hot and cold.

Harnessing the energy of the earth and heaven the medicinal properties of the herbs enhanced, inturn increasing it's medicinal effects.

The medicinal effects of the herb could treat any kinds of injuries no matter how severe it is. It's healing properties was similar to that of the ability of phoenix. It could revive even a person at the brink of death if refined properly.

Appu Illapu clarified the reason behind his hyper focus state while preparing the herb. He then explained that the herb could lose or gain it's medicinal properties by the method used for preparing it. Thus even a slight distraction while preparing the herbs could have been detrimental and hence he ignored her words previously.

The only flaw of the herb was the method required to prepare the paste. And it's major flaw was that it could only treat the people who was still alive. Hence it couldn't revive an already dead person.

Appu Illapu concluded his explanation of the rare medicinal herb Yarsa.

"Damn! A herb so omnipotent that could heal any sort of injuries if prepared well."

Herman unconsciously blurted while admiring the healing power of the herb.

After explaining them about the herb Appu Illapu warned them to stop fantasizing about plucking the herbs.

Herman who was thinking of taking away some for research frowned after listening to him.

Appu Illapu slowly walked towards Zan to monitor his condition. He started to remove the patches of plant from his body and started to check on his vitals. After removing the patches of medicinal plants his eyes widened as he looked at Zan's body condition.

He was shocked by how fast his body recovered. It hadn't even been an hour and yet his body was already recovered. The fatal inner wounds which seemed time consuming to recover was already healed.

Even though Appu Illapu was the one who treated him, he was still shocked by how fast Zan's body recovered.
