Journey Starts

All this situation made Alex understand how to stand under any circumstance, not listening to others' discouraging words. With that, another two years passed. Now, Alex was 17.

One day, wandering around town, he heard people talking about their explorer stories. He approached them and asked, "Are you guys explorers?" A girl replied, "Yep, that's what we are." Excitedly, Alex expressed, "Oh, that's so cool! I also want to become an explorer."

"Sure, you can, kid. If you want to become an explorer, you can fill out a form at the city hall when you turn 18," a big, bulky man said, smiling. Through this interaction, Alex found out about the test.

Now, back to the present:

The next day, Alex woke up and got ready to leave his house, as they had to live in the city hall for their training. While closing the door of his house, Alex spoke, "Don't worry, house. I will become a great explorer. I know you've been there for me in all my happiness and sadness, and I promise I will be strong." A few drops of tears started coming from his eyes. After looking at the door, he took a last glance at his house, knowing he would not be able to come back for quite a while.

On his way to the city hall, Alex saw Ema staring at him intensely. Seeing Alex looking at her, she shifted her gaze. Upon seeing Ema, Alex approached her and asked, "Aren't you the girl who took part in the exam yesterday? What was your name?" Hearing Alex, Ema froze, thinking, "Why is he asking for my name? Is he going to propose to me? I'm not ready for this yet." Alex asked again, and Ema spoke, "I am Ema Scarlet. I will be a nice bride." Saying that, she blushed. Then realizing what she had said, she apologized, "Oh no, sorry, I didn't mean to." But seeing the situation not getting better, she stopped looking at Alex.

"Don't worry about that," he replied. Hearing him, she cooled down. "So, should we go to the city hall together, like a couple?" Thinking that, Ema blushed. "Ah, sure, let's go." Saying that, as she didn't want Alex to think she was weird, they both started walking together.

Upon reaching the town hall, they saw Ray standing there. "Oh, you guys are here. When did you two become such good friends that you walk together?" Saying that, Ray looked at Alex. "Yeah, I saw her standing on the side of a street, so I asked her if she is heading towards town hall, and here we are," Alex explained. Hearing Alex's words, Ray spoke, "I didn't know you were such a player."

"Let's get inside. They will be waiting for us there," Ema spoke, trying to break the conversation, as she didn't like where it was going. "Sure, let's go," saying that, Alex went inside, and Ema and Ray both followed him.

Upon reaching inside, they saw all three instructors standing at the reception. "Oh, here you guys are. I thought you all would be late. I don't like people who are not punctual," Riya spoke in a cute tone. "If you can't even be on time, then you guys shouldn't even be here," Nana spoke coldly. "Oh, come on, they are on time, and from now on, they will be living here with us until the training is over, so they won't be late," David spoke, trying to help the kids.

"Well, all of you guys will get a room each, so hurry up and put your luggage inside and be here in an hour," Nana instructed. Hearing her, they ran. All three of their rooms were next to one another. After putting their stuff, they reached the training ground.

"Now all three of you will get an instructor assigned each," Nana spoke. Then David chose Ray, Riya chose Ema, and Nana chose Alex.
