Amara Konzern

(Ryu Pov)

Present Day

"So even then he lost, huh? It's either he is destined to lose to Kyoya or he didn't truly try to win. Considering both options, neither of the two seem plausible," Ryu pondered, reflecting on the recent defeat.

For Ryu, losing was neither destiny nor fate; he didn't believe in such concepts. In his opinion, except for losing on purpose, in a bey battle, everything was decided by the training one put in. Although stars, reincarnation from ancient heroes, and special beys gave an edge, the outcome was mostly based on the training one put in and how well one cultivated their spirit.

If special beys were all there was to beyblade, he would have won two years ago against his big brother. (In case you are wondering, I updated the previous chapters since they weren't to my liking).

Now, after two years and after hours of training with his team, he believed he could even take on Meteo L-Drago.

But as for L-Drago Destroyer, that was another matter entirely and not something he had to concern himself with currently.

"It's my turn now," said Hikaru, ready to test the new Aquarius but immediately disappointed because everyone had already had their battles, leaving her the only one not having fought yet. (I checked it, and it was my mistake putting Hyoma there; he hadn't made his entrance yet according to the anime).

"I don't mind battling with you if you'd like," Ryu suggested, seeing Hikaru's dejected face.

"Nah, fighting a newbie isn't really my thing," Hikaru responded, understanding the huge improvement in both Sagittarius and Taurus. She thought Ryu was more like Madoka, believing that to be this good at bey creation, he wouldn't have battled that much.

"What?! Amateur?!" A tick mark appeared on Ryu's forehead, but then he calmed down and spoke. "Yeah, it's better this way!"

Hikaru, hearing what he said, nodded. "After all, with your strength, I wouldn't need a second." (Either I have a dirty mind or this is extremely sus, or maybe both?)

A tick mark also appeared on Hikaru's forehead. "Okay, let's fight then!"

Without waiting for Ryu to reply, Hikaru immediately went to the stadium.

'This bitch...' Ryu's mind wandered back to his time with his former team as he watched Hikaru's confident stride towards the stadium. A particular memory surfaced, one that involved a girl with whom he had similar interactions.

Two Years Ago: The Island Tournament

Ryu was in Europe.

After escaping from the Dark Nebula's pursuit, Ryu decided to form connections with Team Excalibur, or more precisely with Julian Konzern, who was not only the leader but also a wealthy and influential figure capable of offering protection. Ryu knew that gaining Julian's trust could provide him the backing he desperately needed.

After some research, Ryu discovered that Julian had a little sister, Amara, who was one year younger than him. She was an up-and-coming blader known for her fiery spirit and remarkable skill. Learning more about her, Ryu found out that she was participating in a unique tournament in Greece. The tournament wasn't a typical battle in a stadium; instead, it was a free-for-all bey battle on a deserted island.

This setting provided the perfect opportunity for Ryu to approach Amara and gain her trust. He decided to enter the tournament himself, confident in his abilities and determined to forge an alliance.

The island was rugged and wild, with dense forests and rocky cliffs. Participants were scattered across the terrain, each seeking to eliminate their competitors and emerge as the last blader standing. Ryu moved stealthily through the trees, his senses alert for any sign of his opponents.

As he navigated the island, he heard the unmistakable sounds of bey battles echoing through the forest. Following the noise, he soon came upon a clearing where Amara was engaged in a fierce battle with three other bladers. Her bey was unique. Ryu had never seen anything like it, even in the series.

Ryu watched in awe as Amara skillfully outmaneuvered her opponents, her determination evident in every move. However, she was outnumbered, and the other bladers were closing in on her. Seeing an opportunity to intervene and make a favorable impression, Ryu decided to act.

"It's not good ganging up on a lady. Didn't your parents teach you manners?" Ryu's voice cut through the chaos as he stepped into the clearing. Everyone subconsciously looked at him.

"Don't intervene; this is my fight! I don't need a stranger's help!" Amara's voice reached him, but as if he didn't hear what she said, Ryu took Raiju and his launcher. Then, after taking a stance and loading the bey, Ryu launched Raiju.

"Godspeed!" This was what they heard before seeing a flash of greyish-blue light. Everyone closed their eyes, and when they opened them, the only thing they saw and heard was their beys falling from high up while they stopped spinning.

To Amara's surprise, everyone was defeated in an instant. This level of prowess was something only her brother had, at least in her mind. For her, her brother was a genius and the strongest blader there was.

But now, here she was, meeting a stranger with similar power to her brother, whom she thought was invincible.

"Thank you, sir, for saving me," Amara said, realizing that she was saved. She immediately thanked Ryu with incredible grace befitting the noble house of the Konzern.

"And why are you thanking me exactly?" Ryu asked, a teasing tone in his voice.

"Sir, you just defeated everyone that had surrounded me. So, it would be inappropriate of me, as a member of the main family of the Konzern, not to show my appreciation," Amara replied, looking at him weirdly.

Ryu looked at her as if she was dumb and then burst out laughing. "Hahaha... Look carefully, idiot."

Amara, although annoyed at being called an idiot, looked around her but couldn't see anything.

Then, a bey seemed to fall from the sky, landing right on her head. Ryu, seeing this, laughed even harder and said, "I not only defeated your opponents but also you! Stupid!"

Amara was shocked. She didn't expect him to attack her after he offered a helping hand.

"Why did you offer to help me if you were going to attack me?!" she said angrily. But Ryu wasn't fazed and replied with a casual expression.

"Didn't you say something along the lines of 'I don't need saving from a handsome young man such as yourself'?"

Amara, hearing what he said, couldn't help but form a tick mark on her forehead. "This is definitely not what I said, you bastard!"

After some small talk, Amara suddenly said, "Fight me, you bastard! I have to reclaim my honor after this humiliation!"
