"Good morning, Abby." Sawyer was surprised to see her open the door for him.
"Morning. I thought you had left me behind in the middle of this forest, Sawyer," Abigail said, smiling at her foolish thought as she walked to the fridge.
Sawyer laughed softly as he closed the door behind him, his eyes fixed on her back. He slowly walked toward the dining table and sat down.
"How could I leave a beautiful lady in this secluded place? I would never do that, Abby," he replied calmly.
Abigail nearly coughed upon hearing his words. After hearing his fluttery words, she stood before the open fridge to cold her warm face.
'Why is he starting to repeat those sweet lines?' Abigail wondered. 'Is this the effort he wants to show me? Is he trying to help me heal faster from my broken heart?'
She had countless questions she wanted to ask him. Still, she dismissed the idea instantly, worried that Sawyer would respond with those exact sweet words again.
