The Energy Within

Narrated by John

So, I'd got my energy out, but couldn't do much more. It was like a red blob just hanging there, and I couldn't make it do anything else.

It felt like a tug of war. I tried to pull more energy out, but it resisted, like there was a struggle between what I wanted and what the energy was willing to give.

Benji decided that it was time for a break, and went for a walk.

I approached Alex, "Hey, how did it feel for you?"

Alex scratched his head, "Honestly, mate, you're the only one who managed to pull out anything. For me, it's like trying to convince a stubborn friend to come out and play – a lot of resistance, not much success."

I chuckled, "Yeah, it felt like a tug of war with my own energy. Managed to get it out, but couldn't convince it to do much more. Maybe it's shy or something."

Alex shrugged, "Not much better. It's like my energy is playing hide-and-seek, but it's not too keen on being found."

I glanced over at Gordon, who seems to be more interested in the building than the energy exercises. I leaned towards Alex and muttered, "I think I'll pass on trying to strike up a conversation with him for now."

Alex shrugged, "Well, someone had to do it." He headed towards Gordon, leaving me to myself.

I spotted Anne under a tree, her eyes closed in deep concentration. I approached her quietly, not wanting to disrupt her focus.

Green wisps of energy began to escape from her body. Soon, those wisps accumulated, and Anne's energy flowed out gracefully, taking on a vivid green hue. It moved with a fluid elegance, swirling around her like a small, enchanting tornado.

She brought her palms closer, and a small little wisp of green emerged from her fingertips. It was like a little tadpole, floating between her palms without any idea about where to go. But soon, it gained companions, and they all coalesced together, to form a bright green swirling sphere.

Anne's eyes widened in amazement as she gazed at the vibrant green sphere cradled in her hand. In her excitement , she spotted me, which caused a momentary lapse in concentration, and the green sphere dissipated like morning dew in the sun. Anne turned towards me, a sheepish grin on her face, realizing her brief loss of focus.

I approached Anne, "Hey, Anne, that was.. amazing! How did you manage to pull that off?"

"Well, what did you feel, when you summoned your energy out?" She asked.

I told Anne that I felt like I was in a bit of a wrestling match with my energy, like trying to pull it out while it resisted a bit.

Anne nods as if she understands and then shares, "Alex told me it's like cranking up the volume of a song. What do you think?"

I aaid that it makes sense, and Anne says, "That was an interesting take, and it got me thinking. That maybe Alex was too far from his energy to try and crank it up. Maybe everyone was."

I asked her, "Do you mean we need to get closer to our energy?"

Anne nodded and said, "Exactly. Instead of yanking it out the moment we feel it, maybe we should focus even more, get closer to it."

"Is that what you did right now?"

Anne nodded with a smile. "Yeah, John, give it a shot. Close your eyes, feel the energy, and then try to get closer to it. It's like trying to catch a butterfly – you don't snatch it out of the air; you let it come to you."

I closed my eyes, concentrating on feeling my energy. It was like a gentle hum, a soft buzz inside me. I focused more, making that hum stronger, a quiet energy flowing through me.

I kept pushing, intensifying that hum. It took time, but I could sense it growing, a subtle force within me gaining strength.

As I intensified my focus, the hum of energy within me grew stronger, flowing through every fiber of my being. The sensation was like a rhythmic pulse, synchronized with my heartbeat. I held my palms out, hoping to get a ball out this time.

The hum within me grew stronger as I held out my palms, directing my energy, imagining the sphere forming before me. I could feel the rush of my energy flowing out, responding to my intentions, slowly accumulating between my hands to form a sphere.

I opened my eyes, and there it was—a brilliant sphere, red flame-like energy swirling within. The thought that I'd managed to do this was unreal.

Next to me, Anne said, "You did it! Congratulations!"

I slowly pulled my palms apart, and the energy ball slowly dissolved away, leaving barely any sign that it had existed before.

"Yes. I did. And it's all thanks to you," I said, turning to her.

She smiled,"I just helped you get there. You did the hard part. Anyways, I think the break's up. Let's get back to the others."

"Sure."

We got up, and walked back to regroup with Alex and Benji.

And Gordon.
