Adrian grabbed her jaw, squeezing her cheeks together, he made her shut her mouth. “Listen to me carefully, Brat,” he whispered, bringing his face closer to hers, “You better hope I don’t say yes to this proposal of your father. Because if I do, I will be shipping your ass off to a behaviour correction facility as the first thing.” Ignoring the sneer on her lips, Adrian patted her cheek forcefully, just for fun, before turning around and leaving her alone in the corner. “It’s on,” she vowed, “I’ll fucking set you on fire.” ***** Joyce O’Sullivan, 19 years old, a perfect age to get married and settled according to her family members, according to the church they went to, and according to the whole society that she did not give a damn about. Kidnapped with a mob-boss- I

For the next week, she felt like her father was avoiding her deliberately. He did not make it to family dinners and even if he did, he did not talk and was silent the entire night and breakfast, well, he never had breakfast with them to begin with. That was a truly rare occasion.

For the next six days, she did not have any problems with computing at the university. Michael did not come in her way and so did her father. It was like they had forgotten about her, which Joyce was much thankful about.

She was still avoiding George. At least, avoiding him until he was driven to the point where he was done with her would make either being dumped by him or dumping him easier.

The route that she would take always had construction going on the pavement, making her stop and stare at eight. She was already late for the tube and now she would have to go around the block. Why could they not put a sign beforehand?

Joyce huffed before turning around on her heels and walking back. She had already covered a significant distance and now to go the other way, she would definitely have to wait another 45 minutes.

Crapping crap crapster crap, She groaned. Why did the freakiest thing happen to her?

Joyce glanced at the wrist watch that she was wearing, it was ten minutes past one and there was no way that she could reach the tube in five or maximum 10 minutes. So she might as well stop by a coffee shop.

Ordering herself a doughnut and a hot chocolate, she settled by the window to finish it.

Her phone rang and she fished out before grumbling under her breath. It was her mother who was calling.

"Mummy."

"Joyce, I noticed that you were happy after your last visit to the church. Would you like to give this Sunday as well?"

Her mother was calling to invite her to church? Something they always did anyway?

"Okay," she took a bite, "sure."

"Great. Come home soon, bye."

Raising her eyebrows slightly, she took the phone away from her ears and stared at the screen. That was suspicious, and unlikely, usually her mother could go on, and on talking about something or the other, but today, she hung up first.

Grabbing the leftover hot chocolate, she walked back to the train station, but only slower this time since she had nowhere else to be.

Joyce inhaled the last sip of her hot chocolate, she scowled the car in front of her, which had its passenger door open. Why would someone be that careless with their car, especially a Rolls-Royce?

How rich were people getting that they did not even care about their vehicles which were quite expensive?

Without stopping, she lightly pushed the door towards the car and it closed. Joyce continued walking, ignoring the fact that it had once been open.

Someday, she hoped that she would be that rich that she could leave door open—

"Don't—" thump, "fuck!" Thud again.

What in the world was going on? Joyce stopped and turned her head towards the area that she had heard the voice from. It was that little alley in between the two buildings.

Yep, there was no way she was going inside that. It was such a small space and that was usually where people got mugged and murdered.

She shivered when a cold wind blew past her body. Whatever was going on inside, was none of her concern. If God wanted that person to be held, someone probably braver in comparison to her, would help him.

Joyce took a step forward, and was about to turn back, when she had multiple footsteps. Two men arrived into her line of sight carrying a man, more like dragging him with them, and the third one followed them behind only for his eyes to catch her.

His eyes widened.

Her eyes widened.

He took a step closer.

She didn't. Instead, Joyce gasped and raised the cup of hot chocolate high in the air before lurching it on his head. It bounced off, and the man's face turned red, appearing to be more angry than he was before.

"No witnesses," he snarled. "especially no bitches."

Joyce stepped back once before taking multiple of them, but kept her eyes on him. "I am a God fearing woman and I am telling you that you are going to feel the wrath of god if you come even an inch closer!"

The man started to run towards her, and Joyce turned around, finally attempting to run only to be caught from behind by her hair. She screamed but the man shoved with something in her mouth.

"If you whisper as much as a word, I will kill you. Better yet, I have a few friends that love to play with women like you. I want to have a try?"

Her eyes widened enough to the extent where they started to burn. Joyce shook her head, making one of the tears fall to the cheek.

"Good." He sneered into her ear and she closed her eyes and breath. It was a foul, more foul than a molding piece of chicken she had once found in the fridge.

They had already thrown the man inside the car by the looks of it. Therefore, a minivan, but behind the card that she had closed the door of.

He pushed her inside, quite harshly, before closing the door behind her. He did not enter the car, Joyce knew that because no door of the car opened after that, rather, someone started to drive.

Fuck, she swore, fucking fuck.

She had just been kidnapped, even when she did not want to help the other person which she was reminded of was still next to her.

Turning her to the side, Joyce peeked at who was accompanying her in the car ride.

She whimpered and gasped at once.

Of all the men in the world, it was Adrian Murphy.
