Donut date - III

Curious to where someone is coming from, Joyce stepped closer to the door. She was maybe 2 to 3 steps away from it when the door opened and a bag was thrown out, making her halt in her steps immediately.

The door closed but she remained frozen on the spot in case it opened again and someone stepped out.

Now her curiosity increased even more. The bag was in front of her and the door was closed. By the muffled voices that she could hear, no one's voice came out anytime soon and even if they did, she could hide in the bathroom again.

Since Joyce knew her father was an organised crime, she was expected to be full with cash or organs of someone. She shook her head and cursed herself in her mind. What the hell? That was sick and she should definitely discontinue watching crime solving series.

Swallowing Down her fear, Joyce moved forward and with shaking fingers touched the bag. She slowly unzipped it before speaking inside by lifting up a small part of the cover.

Money.

She sighed in relief.

She glanced at it again and went forward to close it before she realized something. The numbers on each and every currency was the same and the Queen's head turned to the opposite side.

Diving more into her suspension, she opened the bag up and checked each and every note that was on the top. She was right, they were fake.

The perfect opportunity of stealing the money went outside the window obviously because of the fake notes. But I did not sit well with her either way that someone else was going to get frauded because of this person.

Thankfully, she had carried her bag to the washroom Vadha. Pulling out a small piece of paper from her notebook, she wrote, 'The banknotes are fake, check them.'

Shoving everything in her bag, she flung it over her shoulder before getting the hell out of here

George was waiting with her and their untouched food was on the table as he waited for her patiently and brightened up the moment his eyes caught her.

"Everything alright?" He asked, concern flashing in his eyes. "I can go to the chemist if you want."

Jesus, Mary, Joseph. She was going to die of a heart attack out of love.

"I'm fine," she winked before taking a set of his drink. "Mm, yum."

He smiled, The corner of his eyes crinkling with it. "Do you want to exchange it?"

"Hmm.." He had ordered a boring and plain chocolate shake whereas she had gotten herself an Oreo one. "Maybe, not."

"I Will save you the last sip." George said no English before diving into his food.

And that right therefore was the reason had been with him for so long. Because of his unnatural need of considering her before his horror film self. Something she had never seen anyone for anyone and her family except her mother. George was the most caring person she had ever been with in her life.

The donuts were the best thing she ate for the day. It could be the presence of the man in front of her, but she was not ready to admit that.

"Want more?" George pointed towards the cashier. "You did not take the red velvet one today."

They did not have it. "It's fine. Indian food now?"

"Really?" He winced. "It makes me gassy."

Joyce giggled. " Siri? That is why I refused to let us live together near the university. Now you can fart all around without me having to be in the room."

"Ew, nasty girl." He waved his hands. "Go away."

Laughing at his antics, Joyce slid out of the boot as tears started to gather in her eyes. She wiped them away but it was difficult to control them.

While wiping the corner of her eye to get rid of another tear, she found Adrian exiting the corner that she had had enough for the toilets.

His eyes found hers immediately.
