Chapter 229 The Son of Fire Part 9

The clash of Yul's sword and Xun's double-edged spear echoed in the night. Due to the impact of the collision, both Yul and Xun were pushed back several feet. Xun only stopped when he collided with ten of Wadi's men, and as for Yul, he stopped twenty feet away from Fufu.

"You..." Xun gritted his teeth and looked at Yul who was standing a few feet away from him. He pointed the spear at Yul. "Tonight, I'm going to kill you."

"Kill everyone except Baqer's daughter," Wadi said. "As long as she's alive, I don't care if she loses her limbs."

Wadi's ten subordinates and the twenty bandits brought by Wadi were rushing towards Yul, Fufu, and the others. Abrafo and Bong rushed out of the darkness with three wolves and began to attack them.

"This way," Ya called from the right, walking towards the prisoners with Michio.

"Ya?" Fufu said when she saw Ya walking towards her with a monk. "It still too early for you to return with help."

Ya helped Fufu up and said, "I asked them to help. We have to leave now."

Fufu said, "Go to the right and you will reach the cliff. There is no way out."

Ya said, "That's our escape route. Come on, you have to trust me this time."

Fufu said, "Everyone follow Ya." She looked back to check on Yul and found that Yul was still fighting with Xun and others. "Ya, take them with you."

Ya grabbed Fufu's arm. "You come with me," she said. "You are hurt."

"I'm not disabled," Fufu said. "Let's go. Take them away now. You and they are not needed here."

Michio said, "No more wasting time."

Ya looked at the eight women and three men and said, "Follow me."

Abrafo knocked the roasted pig into where Wadi was standing and threw one of the bandits into the campfire. The bandit fell straight into the campfire, and his clothes quickly caught fire. The burning bandit quickly rolled out of the bonfire, screaming in pain as the fire began to grow.

Bong jumped over the scattered campfire and aimed his spear at Wadi, but nine of Wadi's men rushed forward to defend Wadi, swords drawn. Bong and Wadi's nine men began fighting. Seeing Bong fighting alone with nine of Wadi's men, Abrafo was about to go over to help, but the other bandits began to attack him.

In order to delay time and ensure that the prisoners successfully reach the cliff and escape, Yule avoided a head-on confrontation with Xun, but continued to fight the less skilled bandits, swinging his sword left and right, killing the bandits that tried to chase after the prisoners.

Xun, staring at Yul with ferocious eyes. Last time, he lost the chance to kill Yul and let Yul escape from him, so tonight, he will do everything he can to prevent Yul from escaping. He waited until Yul's back was turned to him when he rushed forward and aimed his double-edged spear at Yul's back.

Seeing Yul fighting the bandits alone, and Xun also sneaking up on Yul from behind, Fufu quickly rushed forward, releasing her shield flying directly at the spearhead, diverted the direction of Xun's spear away from Yul's back, and then she rushed towards the bandits with her sword.

Hearing the sound of shields and spearhead clashing, Yul grabbed one of the bandits by the shoulder to stood in front of him as his shield. While Xun's spear moved forward and pierced the bandit's chest, Yul quickly flipped over Xun and the injured bandit and swung the sword directly to Xun's back, causing Xun and the injured bandit to fall forward to the ground a few feet away from the pagoda door.

Yul turned around and saw five bandits fighting Fufu, and seeing Fufu's shield on the ground near him, he grabbed Fufu's shield and ran towards Fufu.

"Ya, Aare you sure we can escape from here?" Bo asked.

Ya said, "I'm sure. Keep running."

When the rescued prisoners ran towards the cliff, they saw something glowing in the darkness not far from them.

"Hurry," Michio shouted. "Run towards the light. When you get there, don't think too much and just climb on the peacock's back."

When they came very close to the peacocks and two eagles, the prisoners were so scared that they refused to go near the peacocks, the black panther, and the two eagles.

"I need someone to ride this eagle with me and point me in the direction of Maka City," Hajime said, looking down at the crowd.

U-ri, who was sitting on another eagle, heard horses galloping in the distance and saw many torches flashing in the dark heading towards their direction. "There's no time. If you want to live, jump on the backs of those peacocks" U-ri shouted.

Bo climbed onto the eagle's back with Hajime. "The name is Bo. I am Captain Fufu's subordinate," he said.

Seeing the man climbing onto the eagle with Hajime, the other prisoners quickly climbed onto the peacock's back.

Michio and Ya climbed onto the black panther's back and watched as the peacocks began to take flight following Hajime.

"We'll see you at the border," U-ri shouted at Michio and Ya as his eagle began to take flight.

The black panther carried Michio and Ya took off into the night running alongside the cliff heading towards Maka City. 

Seeing the many lights flying away from the cliff, Anu slowed down his horse. Because he knew that no matter what, when he reached the edge of the cliff, the prisoners had already left. So, when the sound of fighting was still heard from the other side of the pagoda, Anu led the soldiers back towards the pagoda.

Twilight was beginning to replace the night, so when Yul saw the red flares lighting up in the gray sky, he knew the rescue plan had been successful and Hajime and U-ri were out of danger. He fought his way to one of the wolves and jumped on its back.

"Abrafo! It's time to leave," Yul shouted, rushing towards Fufu and holding out his hand.

Fufu grabbed Yul's hand and jumped on the wolf's back, and the wolf flew in the direction of the red flare.

The two wolves ran to Abrafo and Bong, who also grabbed the wolf's fur, jumped on the wolf's back, and escaped with Yul.

When Xun, who had suffered a large gash on his back could stand up, he only caught a glimpse of the wolf's tail disappearing into the night. Yul escaped from him again, even leaving him with a large wound on his back, and he angrily pulled the double-edged spear from the chest of the dead bandit on the ground.

Xun turned to Wadi and shouted angrily, "Give me a horse now!"

Wadi saw the wound on Xun's back and said, "Take care of that wound first."

Xun said angrily, "Letting him escape for the second time will be more painful than the injury he inflicted on me."

When Anu and his soldiers reached the pagoda. He looked down at Wadi and asked, "Where are the prisoners?"

Wadi sighed and said, "They were rescued by the people I met yesterday. I didn't expect those people to have the courage to rescue those prisoners."

"Hmph! Your ideas are always wrong." Anu urged his horse and led the soldiers in the direction of the red signal flare.

Seeing that Wadi's people had not found a horse for Xun, he pulled a soldier off his horse, jumped on the soldier's horse, and rode behind Anu and other soldiers.

As dawn broke and the weather began to clear, Anu could see the dust created by the wolves. Although the wolves ran very fast, Anu's horse had good endurance.

At this time, the blood on Xun's back from last night had solidified, leaving only dark red stains on his white shirt. Seeing that he was almost catching up with Yul and the others, Xun whipped his horse hard, making the already tired horse speed up the pace, ahead of Anu and others.

Anu knew that at this range, if he fired the arrow, it would cause damage to anyone within five hundred yards of him and his men.

"Arrows," Anu said decisively, raising his whip and hitting the horse. The horse quickly caught up with Xun.

The soldiers grabbed their bow tied on their horse's side, reached for the arrow in the quiver on their back, fastened the arrow to the bow, and waited for Anu's command.

Anu glanced at the people on the left and right and found that they were ready. He shouted, "Fire!"

"Go straight to that mountain," Fufu shouted. "Once we get through the channel, get ready to jump into the river."

"Is there no bridge?" Abrafo shouted.

"Dumb reason to build a bridge to lead the enemy directly to your first village," Fufu shouted. 

"Yeah, that's pretty dumb," Abrafo laughed.

The volley of arrows left faded shadows over the three men and Fufu. Bong has experienced countless wars, and he knows exactly what are coming down at them.

"Arrows!" Bong yelled, and his wolf dashed toward the passage in a distance.

Yul felt something poke his right shoulder blade, and he heard Fufu grunt. "Have you been hit?" Yul shouted.

"Stupid arrow actually hit me. Dam those fucking bastards," Fufu chuckled in pain. When she looked down at her chest, she saw the tip of the arrow piercing her right shoulder above her breast.

Worried that more arrows would hit them, Fufu grabbed Yul's waist with her arms, moved her body under Yul's left arm, and sat in front of Yul facing Yul. Her right arm was still holding Yul's tightly. She buried her face in Yul's chest, leaned her body against Yul's body, and raised her shield to protect Yul's back.

Feeling multiple arrows hitting the shield, Fufu said feebly, "If I die, don't let my body be humiliated by them."

Yul looked down at Fufu's pale face and said, "Today, you will not die."

Seeing that the prisoner was approaching the mountain pass, Anu shouted, "Don't let them cross the river!" At this time, Anu could already see Fufu's golden shield. He raised his right hand high. "Prepare the arrows!" 

Anu and his men rode towards the mountain pass chasing the two Tanzanies, Bong, and Fufu.

Anu shouted, "Fire!"
