CHAPTER SIXTEEN
"What do you want from us? There's no way you helped us for free!" The cats yowled. It was morning now, by the way, and I was sitting in the middle of a high rock, kind of like a leader. noice, noice.
"Yep, you're absolutely right. I didn't do this for free." I said mildly, my tail swishing in lazy circles. The cats all stopped nervously, and I started laughing. "Don't worry, it's not anything too ridiculous. I want to make a clan, but I don't want any of those rat-faces from the clans. So I had to resort to you all. I won't force you into anything, but I really would love some help." I said, smiling. It didn't matter whether they joined me or not - I was happy enough to help out my darling imaginary characters, and also because this herd of extras meant I was completely back to the living.
All the cats were now chattering, and I took up my usual position of laying in a cat loaf and waiting. The sun felt so nice on my fur, to the point where I almost fell asleep. Just a bit more, Beeflight, and then you get to retire as a rich bum forever. I thought, head resting on paws. Things were going my way, finally!
Yeah, all that imagining has paid off pretty well. "Did you mean it?" said a voice behind me, and I turned to see Shadow. "Huh? mean what?" I asked, and Shadow looked at me. Studying…?????? again? do you want a second round of my face, dude? "That you don't like cats from the clans," Shadow said. worried. I turned back around, turning back up into a loaf. "Of course, but you don't count for two reasons: I don't want cats from the clans because they hate everyone from other clans, so it would just result in fights, and that would be a waste of my time. You're here because I doubt you'll fight with anyone, and also because you're technically not in the clans anymore." I recited, stretching my paws out. "Really? So I can stay?" Shadow checked, and I scoffed. "Of course. I had to beg you to join in the first place, so I'd just be doing myself some damage if you left. right?"
"But, I'm the only cat here related to the clans…" Shadow said, and I purred. "For now, at least. We'll see what happens."
