After Cindy said that, the atmosphere in the room became very uncomfortable for the two boys. Oliver simply shifted in his seat uncomfortably as he wondered what Cindy was talking about. She was a child, after all, and kids were fond of saying silly things that didn't make any sense.

He couldn't meet Liam's eyes, but he could tell Liam was shocked as he tried to explain to Cindy that he was happy around whomever he considered his friends, just like he was around Harry and Sophie.

Friends. They were friends now?

Oliver thought to himself. It made sense that they were. Liam was nice to him. He wasn't nice to everyone else except to Harry and Sophie, at least he knew so. Why did Liam want to be friends with an awkward person like him?
