Liam was glad they had dressed warmly and had also asked Oliver to do same because it rained heavily.

Liam bought them burgers and soda, and no matter how much Oliver tried to decline, insisting on paying for his own food, Liam refused. So Oliver allowed him. 

Oliver didn't waste time thinking about what to buy for Chris because as soon as he saw a birthday card and a bottle of perfume packed together, he paid for it and asked for it to be wrapped. 

Liam didn't look too pleased, but he didn't let it bother him. When they returned to the car, Liam didn't drive immediately since it was still raining heavily. Instead, they began to eat their burgers and make small talk. Cindy ignored them since she was busy looking out the window and watching everything with curious eyes.
