Trev's one-word took the wind out of my sails, and I just gapped at him; my mouth opened and closed like a fish out of water.
“I’m sorry, what?” was all the brainpower I had left.
“Good for you.”
I just continued to stare at him, not quite able to comprehend what he said. Was he agreeing with me or patronizing me?
“What exactly do you mean by that?” I asked cautiously.
“Just what I said. Good for you. You are submissive, but you are no one’s doormat and I’m glad you finally realized that. I hate that I had something to do with it, but I’m glad it’s finally there. This is the real Vie. The strong amazing woman that has been hiding under the shy uncertain girl,” he replied… proudly, oddly enough.
His praise warmed my heart even more. It was odd after the turbulent emotions I had felt recently that I suddenly would find a sort of tranquility.
“Oh… thank you.”
