Arriving back home after everything, I see a certain someone spread out all over the couch. "Did you have fun?" Getting a thumbs up, he rolls over and falls off the couch.
Walking over him, I remark. "Why don't you just kill yourself at that." Putting a certain paper into a drawer, Edward asks me what it was. Telling him that it's just some paperwork, he immediately loses interest.
Of course, I was lying, in reality, there was the royal invitation that I got from Gabriel. Which I'm so much gonna attend. Closing the drawer, I lock it. Hearing loud snoring, I turn to Edward only to see him knocked out on the floor.
Sighing, I slightly stab him with my cane. "Hey, go to your bed. I'm the one sleeping on the couch." Trying to wave me off, he says. "Just sleep on my bed." Now slightly kicking him, I point out the fact that his mattress is harder than fucking metal.
Taking offense to that, he get's up, and storms off to his room. "Hard as metal?! I'll show you how good I sleep on it!" Shutting the door behind him, I finally take a break.
Sitting down on the couch, I take off my shoes, Pulling off my socks, I pull off parts of my skin as well. Finally letting my body relax, I feel my eyelids get heavier and heavier. Until I can barely keep my eyes open.
*GJAARHARR* Only to get woken up by the most inhumane sound possible. Thinking that the building is collapsing, I jumped up and looked around, only to hear it again. Rubbing my forehead, I realize that it's just Edward snoring.
Sitting back down, I hear a pretty disagreed sound outside. Walking to the balcony door, I peek through the shutters. Spotting a ghost-like girl outside, I say. "What do you want Alice? Didn't you say the next time we meet we will be enemies?"
Nodding, I see one of her hands rise out of my shadow and open the balcony door. "You're right, I said that. But... We're alone so we can act like friends" Walking in she looks around the room. "Wow, It looks the same as when I left.
Walking over to a plant, she digs out a small gun. "You still keep it in here?" Nodding my head, I ask Alice what she wants. "Do you remember how we met?"
Scuffing at that, I lean back don't the couch. "Of course, I rammed you with a car into a tree." Chuckling, she walks around the kitchen. "Yeah, I then woke up here and thought that the enemy got me." Starting to make something, she continues.
"Do you remember how I left?" Not understanding, I tell her. "We were finally getting to the bottom of those shadow cultists, but when we were running away, the whole building exploded.... It left you seriously wounded, I tried to help you but, the cultists were quickly running to us, so you told me to run and save myself." As if Frozen in time Alice seems to have stopped.
"May I ask a question? What were you doing for the past... Six months? I was worried and looked for you, but I found nothing! I thought you were dead! Yet two months back you suddenly appear out of nowhere and are the crime lord of the south and acted like we've never met each other!"
Silence, not saying anything, I start to hear Alice silently sobbing. "Alice?" Getting up, I walk over only to hear. "I don't know, *Sob* I really don't know anymore." For the first time in my life, I saw Alice cry.
Taking a step closer, Alcie jumps at me. For a moment I thought she tried to pull a fast one, so tensed up.... but after a second, I relaxed. Hugging her, I ask.
"What do you don't know?" Crying into my scarf, she tells me that she doesn't know anything. "Everything seems so fake, it's like everything is just a hazy dream."
Not knowing what to say, I get an idea. "How about we go on an adventure?" Looking at me, I continue. "If you don't know what's real, then how about we do something that is real." Walking to the balcony, I point to the night streets of Aquaria.
"Like back then, how about you help me with something?" Her eyes all puffed up, she smiles. "Even if this is a dream I should enjoy it." Sighing, I put on my boots, Looking at the drawer where the royal invite for tonight is, I decide to ignore it.
Jumping onto the roof, I offer my hand to Alice. Pulling her onto the roof we run across Alice asks me what is it that I have to do. "Well, There are some people that we have to meet and-"
*BANG* Getting shot through the shoulder out of nowhere, I fall into an alley. Preparing myself to hit the ground hard I tense up, only to get caught. Opening my eyes, I find myself being slowly placed onto the ground by large pale hands.
Seeing Alice on top of the roof, she slides down the wall to me. "Raven! Are alright?" Looking her straight in the eyes, I joke. "Does it look like I'm fine? I have a hole through my shoulder!"
Stumbling onto my feet, I wonder where the shooter can be. Forming a small plate of Ice, I use it as a mirror to look over the corner. Not seeing anything, Another shot comes flying straight through my ice, leaving a single hole in it.
"Did you see them?" Shaking my head, I show her the ice plate. "But I know that they're on our right." Pointing deeper into the alley, We run away from the shooter.
If I had known this is gonna happen I wouldn't have gone outside. "Did you say something?" Fearing that I have spoken out loud, I shake my head, "No, did you?" Both confused, we run for a bit, before another shot echoes over the alley.
Hitting the ground behind us, I see a person in the back of the alley. "There they are, Our shooter" Getting behind a corner, I ask Alice if she remembers our wall. "Our wall? I think I do....." Raising her arm, we intervene our hands and raise a wall of her ghostly hands and my ice.
"What the fuck-" Getting rammed by it, our little shooter gets thrown to the ground. Running at him before he can grab his rifle, I point my cane at his neck. "That's enough! Who are you, and why are you here?!"
Staring at me through his mask, he moves his hand slightly closer to his body, so I smash his mask. Screaming in pain, pieces of the glass, now stuck in his face, I ask the men who he is."
Seeing a lantern tattooed on his neck, my eyes go wide. "No." Staring at him, he starts to cough up foam. "Shadows swallows...." Turning to Alice, I see the same lantern on her neck.
"Alice, be honest. What happened?" Looking at the ground, she turns around and starts to run. Running after her, I yell. "Alice! Wait!" Throwing hands out of the drake places at me, I jump over them and follow her. Running onto the main street. Alice stops to look around.
Tackling her to the ground, she yells. "Let me go! I don't know! I don't know anything!"
"Alice! Calm down! Let's talk! It's okay!" Shaking like crazy, I'm barely able to hold onto her. Finally calming down, I let go of her. "You good?" Nodding her head, she lays down on my leg.
"I think we should talk Alice, It's clear that something happened over the past months." Sniffing loudly, she tells me that she doesn't know what's real anymore. "What do you mean you don't know what's real? You said it before, but what does it mean?"
Thinking about it for a second, she speaks up. "I... Don't know..... I have... my mind... it's all hazy, It feels like I've lived twice as long. It's almost like I had two different lives, Yet I don't know which one is real... Every time I wake up, I feel like I'm become more and more of a different person than I was..... yet..... I don't know...."
Patting her head, I listen closely, I might not understand what she means, but I know that it's important for her that I listen.
"I..... Don't remember, or at least I didn't it wasn't long ago, that I suddenly remembered you, it was during the first meeting...... when you yelled your name at me. Back then, I didn't know but suddenly weird memories that I don't know if are mine, times I've apparently spent with you, came flooding in like a tsunami...."
Closing her eyes, she begins to cry,
"I originally thought that something was wrong with me so I told [Him] About it, but he said that it's nothing t worry about, but the day after I woke up I didn't remember... I didn't realize that I'd forgotten until not too long again..... I'm scared... every time I fall asleep, I forget.... and when I remember..... it seems like nothing more than a dream...."
Seemingly calming down, I smile. "Here, take this, it will be the evidence that tonight was not a dream." Handing her a black feather, she asks what it is. "It's Raven feather, Ironicly." Putting it close to herself, She tells me that she will not forget this time.
Closing her eyes, she looks like a porcelain doll.
