You are a tough one

ZOEY'S POV

"I asked you a question," Erin spoke her voice dripping with a daring temper. I took a deep breath and looked at her my aura calm despite her provocative tone.

"Ma'am, I am an employee here," I replied and she frowned. 

Did she find it weird that I was working here?" Marcus is the only person allowed to step into this office, why are you here?" that last part came off so fiery.

That was new information that I didn't know."You should ask my boss that, I feel like I am not the right person to answer your questions. I'm merely new here."I told her.

She snickered wrapping her arms under her breast." I know women like you." she suddenly stated and I could sense an underlying definition of her message.

This was about to get ugly if she thought this road she took was better. "Oh really? How do you know women like me?"I asked matching her energy. She was coming off mean, and I didn't like it.

"Your type of women are those that get plastic surgeries and then get their boss to notice them so that they can seduce them and then milk their boss's bank account dry. Isn't that your goal?" she asked with a straight face.

I tried to keep my laugh in but I couldn't help myself. I burst out laughing such that I fell on the couch with laughter."You are so funny, miss."I said in between the laughter.

"What's so funny about what I said?"I could see how annoyed she was.

"What's so funny? You told me I had plastic surgery, that's what's funny ma'am. Not like I'm against it but I have never had any sort of surgery in my life. Everything you see is real."I told her calmly after I stopped laughing.

She looked unconvinced but that didn't bother me. She had the right to think whatever she wanted about me. I had long been used to people thinking all sorts of things about me anyway.

"Well, I don't care but just know this, Roy is my fiancee, he's engaged so don't even think about seducing him," she said angrily.

I could have laughed again but that would have been disrespectful not that I cared." I don't even want to be here in the first place so rest assured I am not interested in him but if I were to seduce him and he accepted to be with me, it would not be my fault, it would simply mean he doesn't love you."I told her my chin up maintaining eye contact with her.

"Like I said, I know your type. That's what they always say to prove their wicked actions right," she let out sneering at me.

She viewed me as a threat? I didn't know what to feel about myself. She was the epitome of beauty and she thought a person like me would swoop his robot fiance away from her. "If you are so insecure then you should work on yourself because it's you who have a problem. You should at least have faith in your precious fiance. He loves you dearly, right?"I mocked her. Of I knew she too knew Roy didn't care about her.

"You don't get to tell me anything, you are just an employee here," she angrily yelled. Oh, she was getting super annoyed,

I felt super nice getting on her nerves and I was tempted to push more buttons to see what Roy was going to do since he had not reacted at all.

I looked at Roy and I saw him focused on the document he had taken earlier, guess he was not pretending when he said he was busy. He seemed not to care about what we were saying. That proved that he didn't care about her.

I looked at Erin and smiled."Exactly, I'm just an employee so I don't think there is something to be worried about." I agreed with her earlier statement and I saw her frown. She expected something different from what I said."You do know you are harassing me right?"I told her.

"Harassing you? You are the one who is seducing my husband-to-be."I knew that a harassment statement would trigger her to lose her mind that's why I stated it in the first place.

I've encountered people like her before and I had to say that I had learnt to handle them. I was also a person who had been bullied before, I knew what buttons bullies pushed to oppress me but in this case, I was not being a bully, I was just teaching Erin a lesson he deserved for messing with me.

I narrowed my eyes at her to intimidate her then I stood up. I could see the shocked expression on her face after she checked my whole body out. I wanted to frown because I wondered what part of my body made her shocked or why was she shocked.

Remembering her earlier accusation, I smiled."You found me sitting on the couch, when did sitting down become a seducing strategy?"I asked looking at her.

We were of the same height but she had slightly more pounds than me but she looked great nonetheless."I'm going to get you fired." she promised her voice filled with so much hatred.

I chuckled then bent slightly to whisper into her ear."You are aware he doesn't care about you or your opinion right? He will not listen to you because he doesn't love you and you know it. I eavesdropped on your conversation earlier and I have to say, I feel bad for you. You deserve better and you know it."I calmly whispered.

I pulled away to look at her expression and it was just as I expected, sad. I smiled more knowing she got what she came for when she decided to act mean to me.

"Are we good? I mean, I gave you lifetime saving advice, you should back off now. I have work to do so go back to your fiance or choose a better option and go home, that choice will save you from wasting your time."I told her then I sat down completely disregarding her presence.

I smiled when she walked away without saying anything like I expected. In the end, Roy did not intervene and that proved how he looked down upon Erin. That was so disrespectful. What kind of a man was he, he should have stood up for her.

In a few seconds, I heard the sound of clicking heels and I looked up to see Erin leaving. She chose herself, that was very thoughtful and I could have been proud of her but she made a mistake where she stopped, looked at me then turned around and walked back to Roy and kissed him on the lips all while looking at me probably to make sure I was watching.

I smiled at her then nodded then I got back to my laptop snickering. She was so stupid if she thought I was envious. Roy was going to wipe her lipstick off his lips anyway. How blind was she not to see what was in front of her?

She left later and the room was filled with a deafening silence but it didn't last for long because Roy initiated a conversation.

"You are a tough one, are you?" he asked and I looked at him to find him already staring at me.

"What do you mean?"I asked in confusion. I had no idea what he was talking about.

He entirely swung his chair in my direction so that he was his whole body was facing me."I thought she was going to eat you alive, guess you are not easy to win against." he noted.

I gasped in understanding. He was talking about our little situation with his fiance." I've been through so much, I can't be intimidated by an insecure person like her."I stated.

"What did you whisper to her?" he asked showing interest. Oh...he shows interest? That was new. That made him look like a human but barely.

"You were listening to us? Here I thought you were so busy because you told her you were busy and I saw you reading that document. You wanted her to leave you alone, didn't you?"I asked.

"It's not like you were not eavesdropping on our conversation too. Now, what did you whisper to her that made her so furious and aggressive?" he snooped.

Guess who loves gossip? Roy, the robotic boss. He surprised me.

I chuckled putting my laptop away then I shifted my whole attention to him." I told her that she should find herself a better man."I said.

I thought he was going to be shocked or angry perhaps but he just had that calm expressionless face." You are right, she should." he agreed with me.

Why was he agreeing with me even if he was right? "Why are you wasting her time then?"I shrugged.
