You can see them, right?

218 days remaining

....

Ever after that day Shun's eyes always followed Aito. He couldn't help it but his mind has been fixated on the boy ever since.

Shun had finally grown enough courage to actually talk to Aito. He spotted him in the lunch break in the corridor and followed him quietly thinking to himself that he would talk once the boy stops at his destination.

He saw him go towards the terrace of the school. The door's lock was broken so Aito was able to open it. Once Aito disappeared behind the door Shun quickly followed behind. He stopped at door to make it look like him coming to the terrace was a coincidence. After a solid three minutes he opened the door and saw Aito standing at the edge of the terrace and his heart went still.

Aito didn't notice the other person that came on the terrace, at least until the other managed to choke out some words.

"You're-- you're not going to jump are you?" Shun asked, fear gripping him.

Startled Aito turned to look at him. He seemed surprised at first but that expression turned calm and he turned his head the other way.

"I'm not suicidal." He voiced out.

Shun sighed a breath of relief.

"Isn't standing there scary though?" Shun said, a little away from the edge, his gaze fixed on the back of the boy's head.

"No." Aito replied calmly.

Shun carefully got closer to the edge and looked down. He gulped at the sight. He wasn't the type of person who liked heights much. Sometimes it bothered him, sometimes it didn't. Right now it bothered him.

"It feels nice." Aito suddenly started. He turned his head and looked at Shun. Shun stared dumbfoundedly at the sight of his calm countenance. His hair that swayed under the influence of the passing breeze. The dark eyes that glistened in the afternoon sun and the subtle smile that rested on his face.

'Beautiful.'

"It feels like being taken away by the wind to somewhere else."

Shun was left speechless. Only after a moment he sputtered something.

"I'm Shun! Shun Hasegawa!"

"I know that." Aito replied, monotonously. There was a moment of silence.

"Aito. My name is Aito Sasaki." Aito said, breaking the thick silence. After a moment, he said, "You're not supposed to be here. It's prohibited."

Shun was slightly taken aback but then started laughing, "The same applies to you too." Aito only shrugged and got off the edge.

"I should get going." He said heading for the door.

"Aito-kun! Wait! There was something I wanted to ask you."

Aito looked at him with a 'well what is it' look.

"Can you see them too?" Shun asked.

"Them?" He asked, with a tilt of his head.

"The spirits. You can see them, right?"
