Chapter 1

Mikoto awoke to the rambunctious rhythm of a magic train. Unfortunate to dwell on the outskirts, his meager occupation could seldom afford the seelie bill, let one rent.

"Aw geez, why did I stay up so late. I'm only 16, I shouldn't be drinking so heavily," he turned to a frown. His job would soon exact a toll.

As he got dressed and ready, the city bursts alive vigor. Seelies drift about the boundless blue expanse, for their grounded hunters held other business to attend to.

The train speakers sounded, "All passengers, please board and hold on to an object. Remember also, rising Seelie prices have led to an increase of crime rates as of late. Please be careful when traveling alone or in danger zones. We thank you for choosing MagiTrain Rails."

Mikoto had his mind set on other thoughts, "I wonder what Mr. Limorick has for me today. Hopefully something not too draining. The future is looking bright, however, because Seelie Energy has recently announced a sixteenth Mana power plant."

Mikoto frowned. He seemed to recall something, but it was on the cusp of his tongue.

"Nevermind, I'll just check the danger zones later to look for Genesis relics.

Genesis relics were left by the ancient ones. Far from our current society, they were said to have dabbled in fossil fuels, eventually driving humans to near extinction. Despite humanity's renewal, many foreign gadgets and bizarre documents were left in so called "danger zones," and were the only surviving evidence of a prior civilization.

Mikoto was quite knowledgeable about such creatures. They existed in a time of perpetual warfare, relying on martial arts to vy for dominance through monetary assets in their own respective social spheres. Though much of their culture was destroyed, this aspect of evolved society remained in the Republican Astraeus Galactica, host of numberless shining stars.

After work that evening, Mikoto set off to a well known danger zone, "Bizarre Olympus." This housed many great treasures in the past, making its way through the hands in independent mercenaries and corporate inheritances. If he were to find something here, he would be able to afford a month's bill of seelies.

"Hm, what's this?"

He bent over, brushing aside dirt and metal to overturn what had glittered just moments prior.

"A blue disc? How interesting… I've never heard of a relic like this, but I'm sure it will fetch a hefty price."

"Don't sell me you numbnut!"

"Whoa! Ah ah hup!," He surprisedly exclaimed as he fumbled the disc, watching it fall into the nearest Earth mound with a clatter.

"What the hell was that? They shouldn't be able to talk like that!" He was very flustered.

"No, wait. There are some discs I've heard that can talk. But don't those require additional attachments? Whatever, I'll just add that to it's selling points."

DVDs and cartridges DO exist in the hands of many collectors, but rash Mikoto should have realized the peculiarity of this newfound device. Perhaps if he regarded the unknown with greater caution, happenstance would not let fate to run its course.

Inspecting the object closer, he managed to notice a strange script residing in the inner edge of the circle. Believing it to be an ancient slogan, he read aloud unperturbed,

"Igthba, urughbis, stalaorna, tyenomatchi."

With a resounding whoosh, his conciousness rushed to inhabit an unfamiliar location.

"This is…" Mikoto was at a loss for words. Beholding a strange sight, he could only describe this sudden scenery as a gargantuan light blue disc.

Unhesitant to his arrival, a voice resounded, "Welcome, my student. I am…"
